criminalmindz:I am ashamed at the comments of the literate Nigerians that ought to know better. Let us put aside our political difference and reason like human beigns. Y is the president trying to get rid of jega @ dis crucial moment? If u were among the opposition, will u not smell a rat? Do u know that many countries have had civil wars on account of less serious issues? Please let us not burn down this country because of selfish reasons! Pls read the punch editorial of today. May God bless Nigeria |
ellechrystal:The problem is really not about election postponement, its about the way it was postponed! If INEC had come out to postpone the elections, we would all have understood. If the military had called a meeting with Jega and INEC then postponed the elections, then no problem! The problem is that the president forced INEC to postpone the election. Jega kept insisting that INEC was ready for the elections. Mr president should have allowed INEC to be the one to call for postponement if INEC is truely independent! Then the childish way mr president went abt is is disrespectful to all Nigerians! Organising abt 100 prostesters on AIT, then some corrupt Elders like Clarke calling for Jega's resignation, then fayose and doyin okupe calling Jega a liar.. Then d fake "unintelligent" military reports.. They show that mr president has something to benefit from the postponement! |
Obanikoro has not however denied that that is his voice in the audio tape! |
I would have love to see some pictures of them sharing money. That would have being an evidence that they were hired. Anyway, 100 people is a small minority compared to all Nigerians. Let INEC provide d PVCs and shut them up! ELECTIONS MUST HOLD THIS FEBUHARI! Even if GEJ like make he "mobilize" 1million militant protesters! |
I feel so sad reading all these comments! There was a time not long ago when all parents wanted their kids to be doctors, nurses and pharmacists! Health workers were viewed with pride! Am ashamed @ what JOHESU and NMA has made of us! We should all be ashamed of ourselves! We come out here and drag ourselves in d mud on nairaland, later we complain that non medical people insult us! We complain that indian doctors make mockery of our health care system! An average pepper seller sees us as unserious set of hospital murderers who do nothing but fight for supremacy and salaries while the patients die! IF OUR HEALTH CARE IS EVER GOING TO CHANGE FOR THE BETTER, OUR ATTITUDES MUST CHANGE!!! I hope we all understand this before its too late! I also hope we get a government that will enforce a change in our attitude and throw out the spirit of NMA and JOHESU in us! |
duni04:Call a spade a spade? I have never said we dont have our challenges. I have never said we dont have bad eggs in our health institutions. All i have said is that we should not be experts in fault finding. I have said we should consider all news, find out the truth before we "generalise". LASUTH has doctors that are envied all over the world! The plastic surgery unit of LASUTH(the unit that manage cases like the boys') have done many world class cases! So because someone has access to the media, u dont rubbish the works of such great men! Its unfair! When i hear true news of mismanagement and inappropriate conduct by doctors, i will criticise them constructively! I will not open my mouth wide and start saying ALL Nigerian doctors are bad... Bla bla bla.. Thats calling a spade a spade! |
duni04:Sir, i am one of the best in my field. Some people like u are experts in fault finding. U jump up and shout when u hear news like this without pausing for a second to think and investigate. But when u hear abt world class surgeries being performed in Nigerian hospitals u put on ur doubting cap and become a thomas. So u think LASUTH cannot handle a mere case of dog bite? Does that mean there has not being cases of dog bites in Nigeria, abi do we all travel to india to treat dog bite in this country? Haba! Concerning the "referral letter" are u sure it was written in LASUTH? When a patient decline ur treatment and request to be treated in another hospital for a medical condition u can treat, u dont have to give the patient a referral letter! The patient DAMAs. Discharge Against Medical Advice! Are we sure the boy did not DAMA from LASUTH to get a referral letter from anoda source? I AM NOT SAYING OUR HOSPITAL DONT HAVE PROBLEMS, am just saying we should not constantly bring down the morale of our health care workers that are trying their best in the harsh working environment they find themselves. When our doctors compete in foreign exams, they come out as d best, and u guys are here killing their morale! Its unfair! |
This is not true. It shows how "uneducated" some of our educated Nigerians are. There is no way a wound caused by a dog bite will not have infection even if it is being treated in the best hospitals in d world! Its called a dirty wound with an infectivity rate of greater than 45%. Such wound requires patience on the part of both the doctors and the patient's relatives to heal. I know that our health institutions are far from where we ought to be but we have the best of doctors and nurses in Nigeria. I dont work in LASUTH but i KNOW that the hospital has one of the best doctors and nurses in Africa. Now the INDIANs are smart! They are into medical tourism. They will do anything to "toast" Nigerians to travel to INDIA for treatment. They know that Nigerians dont believe in their health care system and will do anything to get "foreign" treatment so they will say anything to discredit our hospitals. I have seen many Nigerians run back home with several complications from treatments in india. |
If this is true, it is so so bad for this country. I would have preferred younger intelligent Nigerians to contest for the presidency. That said, i dont think any right thinking Nigerian should be happy about this! Especially those of u shouting GEJ till jesus comes! Its a shame that Nigerians are made to choose between a younger but clueless, weaker, less intelligent "phd" holder and a "senile" but strict, incorruptible general. Its a shame! But all the same, i will still vote buhari a million times and await the consequences than look forward to another 4years of cluelessness and "stupid" utterances from a weak president! |
This is so so like the Nigerian union! We reject whatever we feel doesnt favour us even if it is in the best interest of the whole world! Its so so sad! I wish the government can make a stand and rejuvenate the health care system irrespective of who is hurt, weda NMA or JOHESU! Its these stupid unionism that is affecting our health system! |
I pity those of u that believe in tramadol! Take 4pills of tramadol and u go vomit out all ur intestinal content! In fact ur hallucination go bad pass that dude wey dey see ghost dey knock him door! D bobo don take tramadol so tay him home movie dreams don becom reality, him com come here dey advertise condom + tramadol combination! Abegiiiiiiiiiiiiii! |
This is the funny part abt Nigerian police/ army. They dont have the capacity to see the big picture! They are usually only interested in showing the public that they are working, what they dont understand is that they are exposing how incompetent they are! They are supposed to do "criminal contact tracing" with this girl instead of the yeye show of shame! They are supposed to advertise to the public in d national newspaper about a "lost but found" girl and ask for information from anyone who may know the parents. If the story is true, then it should not be hard to trace the girl's home and to find the forest where she was initiated without alerting the terrorists! What do they hope to achieve with this senseless presentation of the girl? I think there is nothing like intelligence gathering among our army! Its a shame! |
With the few pple fighting the fire, it would have been nice if the person behind the camera gave a helping hand instead of been more interested in taking so many shots! #just saying.. |
In my opinion, Nigeria's greatest problem is corruption. It has eaten deep into our system! The next is lack of orderliness, we are so so indiscipline in nigeria. We celebrate mediocrity, if mr president can declare his asset and tackle corruption head on, Nigeria will be heaven on earth! Thats d major problem i have with GEJ, if he had no shoes then, we need to know how many shoes he has now! One of d worst quote by any Nigerian is to say corruption is mere stealing, that it is not Nigeria's major problem! Its annoying! I am not a politician or a "hired nairaland supporter" of APC, but can someone pls tell me y anybody would say this jonathan deserves a 2nd term? Seriously, if he gave excuses for 4years about how d opposition is behind boko haram and prevented him from stopping d menace, if he made a statement that terrorism is a global phenomenon and nigeria is not different. If he went to CNN and lied to Amapour that Nigeria has constant electricity, what assurance do i have that he has what it takes to help this country! This is not just about PDP or APC pls! If PDP can bring in a more capable presidential candidate, i swear i will vote PDP but GEJ is not Nigeria's saviour! He lacks the mental capability! As for BUHARI, he is a better candidiate(my opinion) but weda he can save this country is anoda thing entirely but any capable sensible leader who is not ready to make silly excuses for failure and ready to tackle corruption is a better choice than GEJ |
Seriously i think seun should know better, he is a public figure, shouldnt make such utterances. |
With a good intellectual plan, agbaje will likely win lagos, all he needs is to convince the civil servants that he will bring back leave allowances, cancel casual workers in d health institutions, review the expensive monopolistic institutions put in place by tinunbu eg BT labs, promise to retain and improve LATSMA, promise the okada riders, promise a decrease in taxes etc. Agbaje is better known to lagosians than ambode. He may win! I will vote APC again except i see concrete plan by Agbaje to improve on fashola's gains and on the other hand save us from tinunbu imposed casualisation and personalised privatization and "monopolization" of public institutions! |
Its sad enough that we have leaders who think with their behinds but what is more saddening are the comments of some of us followers who are blinded by political differences, what is wrong is wrong! Mr president seems to have become a dictator! I dont think APC are any better than PDP. They are both clueless bunch of politicians but i think its time Nigerians rose up and defend any injustice no matter our political differences! The world has had enough of our show of shame under jonathan! He acts like a primary school prefect! |
Hmmmmm... Question for the gods! I dont think jonathan has d will to fight corruption. Its sad when i read comments by pple in his defence. Am not sure if APC can do better, i just wish we can demand more from these our "clueless" leaders instead of fighting ourselves over them! We can make the presidency accountable irrespective of who occupies that position! Thats what we should aim at, not choosing who is less corrupt! |
I was taught how to drive many years ago by my younger brother. It was hell. We fought every time! He couldnt understand y his brother who was brilliant enough to be in medical school was so dull @ understanding "simple" thing as driving a car. Early this year, i tried to teach my wife how to drive and understood my brother's frustrations. We fought everytime! I had to stop teaching her the day she cried during one of our classes! She has been to driven sch. Now i still pay some1 to accompany her 2 and from work because of the crazy lagos drivers! |
This is a good development for our democrazy. At least when we see grown up "responsible" "honourable" men and women throw chairs and tables in the house in 2015, we will be able to convince the world that they are just acting a scene for our entertainment industry! We wont be too surprise if a governor elect slaps a judge or a governor sack all the doctors in his state, we will assume its one of julius AGwu's jokes! |
Hmmmm.. The truth is that there is so much going on in the health sector that "outsiders" know very little about. It is ok to comment and say bad things about NMA and JOHESU without really listening to their side of the story. If i were in your shoes i will do the same! The FG is the major cause of the problem! There are pple in government who benefit greatly from the bad state of the sector. These include the CMDs and politicians. They spend alot of money to fuel the crisis. They sponsor some "boot-lickers" in the sector to protect their interests. The government know these people, the know how to stop them but they dont want to. Then the NMA and JOHESU leaders too are selfish bunch of pawns who are being manipulated by politicians. They think they are fighting for power in the sector forgetting that the power belongs to the patient! The solution lies with the government, most health workers are against strikes, they only go on strike wen they sense the government's insincerity. The government needs to first take care of the bad eggs causing the problems, then call the stakeholders together, if this fails, an iron hand maybe needed. |
Nobleval: WESTERN PROPAGANDA...SEE WHAT ALJAZEERA WROTE FEW WEEKS AGO!But y dont we like to hear the truth? Is our health sector not weak? Is it not true that lagos has many slums? The truth is the truth weda its the foreign media that tells us or not. Thank God that some pple stood in the gap and were used by God to defeat ebola. What we all need is to come together and use this opportunity to do something positive about our health care system |
What if this is d beginning of the end of the world? What if them oyinbo will now try an untested vaccine which will now cause genetic mutation and transform everybody to zombies like in evil dead ....................................................................................................................... Sorry, na too much film watching dey worry me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Hmmmm... Fashola and doctors part2 |
This means that our military is filled with clueless half baked soldiers. How can the military spokeman not know that some military officers are excorting "escaped" chibok girls to a new school in kaduna? Even if he hears a rumour of "freed" chibok girls being transported to a military barrack, whats does it take to pick up the phone and call such barrack for confirmation b4 speaking to BBC and co? I think it should be easier for a sensible spokeman to dial a colleague on his phone than to dial all the media houses. Y should we believe all d cock and bull stories abt boko haram members' surrender? I don tire for this country. |
I am a christian and i believe the bible is clear on issues like this.. If the pastor is convinced that giving 50,000 to journalist for fuel from the church's pocket (he has no other income) is biblical, then i believe he is not a man of God. Would Jesus christ have given such money if he were in d pastor's shoes? If that is not bribery, i think it is "holy" greesing! Lets call a spade a spade, whatever is not right is wrong weda its d norm or not! So are we saying that pastor chris oyakhilome too should call jounalists and give them 50000 fuel allowance to tell his side of the divorce story? In fact, am sure God will have alot to say about his "men" in Nigeria when we get to heaven! |
Doesnt make sense! This is y pple say our students are bunch of lazy pple who look for every reason to agitate and distrupt school calender. Of course they are wrong but students too should try to show maturity in issues like this |
Hmmmmmmm |
Hmmmmm... Nigerians can create jokes out of everything sha! Big ups |
