It seems I don’t really know how to handle this US interview.
I went for the interview last week.

Degree: master
Total expenses: 39908 dollars.
Sponsor: cousin

My script was as follows:
VO: Why are you going to Georgia southern to study?
Me: (a little confused with the question) I am going there to study for my master degree in information technology.
VO: who is sponsoring you?
Me: My cousin.
She handed me over the blue paper.

Now, I have received the out-of-tuition waiver. I will be paying 15000 dollars. And I also I will be using my cousin as my sponsor.

Pls how do I handle, and pass this interview, and what chance do I have to get the visa?

Pls everyone I need your genuine answer. I want to reapply for the visa now.

Your interview is quite similar to someone I know who went for her interview recently and was also rejected. Her brother who works as a SWE in the US was also going to be her sponsor. What I can deduce from your interview transcript and hers is that the VO wasn't convinced that you would come back b/c your brother who is a USC will be sponsoring you. The VO was probably thinking you would decide to stay back and take the immigrant route like your brother.
I would advise you to apply again but this time, let them know that only your parents will be your sponsor.
Also, try to get some funding/scholarship from your school if you can. It makes your interview at the US embassy less strenuous.
What's the cost of attendance that's stated on your i20? Without funding, this could have raised some red flags too

My sister came to the UK January 2022 this year as a nurse. All thanks to God, for those living in the UK, you can get F1 visa, saw many Asians and Indians were also approved F1 visa today! All the best

I applied for PhD in History at Florida International University FIU, University of Chicago, The University of Alabama, and University of Texas at Austin. I am considering applying to Marquette University too.

I have application fee waiver for a few of them.

And I am going all out.

My question is,

Is it best to apply for F1 alongside F2 for my dependants too? Wife and 3 children.

Secondly, how easy is F1 visa for PhD student who has GA TA or RA positions with Tuition Fee waivers?

All is for Fall 2023.

Please, for those who are currently applying for Ph.D., did you have to email one of the faculty members whose research interests aligned with yours to facilitate your admission process? I applied for 3 Ph.D. positions since September and these were open positions for Fall intake. However, I just felt like doing a follow-up with graduate departments and one of the responses I received seemed to suggest they are "ONLY" accepting those candidates whose "would be" mentorhaveeeas approved for their applications to move to the next stage.
If anybody can throw more light on this, it would be much appreciated.

I-20 is 59k and all the funding is from my uncle

I am a female and was interviewed by a male officer. I cried so much that I didn't eat the whole day.
I don't even know my next line of action for now. I won't give up hope though. I pray for divine direction.

Here is my transcript

Officer: Your passport/i-20 ( I handed it over to him)

Me: Hi, Good morning ( not sure how I greeted again)

Officer: So, you are going to the University of North Carolina for Information Science?

Me: Yes

Officer: Why information Science

Me: ( I pulled down my face mask to answer)

It covers Information retrieval, Data Analysis, Research methodologies. These will help me get the knowledge and skills that will help me excel as this is a male dominated industry.

Normally you email the prof the find out if s/he can take you on and also ask for funding before you apply.

Does this mean the bank to give a statement of account in the equivalent of dollar or the account must be a dollar account? Cause my sponsor is saying he doesn’t own a dollar account. Please someone clarify
