Correcto: Did you read well at all, he said all medical matter. A doctor should only head his own department not other professions. This issue is not about who leads the Med. Lab scientists. Its about who leads a department that gives clinical services. Medical Laboratory has gone far beyond ordinary science, it is now clinical in orientation and must be led by a clinically trained person. A laboratory scientist cannot lead a clinical department. Otherwise doctors will have to look for services that can support them in patient care by giving clinical advice. Medical Laboratory scientists are not clinically trained. |

The citizens of Nigeria should think deep. You keep asking politicians to give you money. Yet you want them to perform. How can you call politicians to account when you are collecting money from them? They have distributed all the money needed to develop the country to party members and other bootlickers. Where will they get money to develop the country? Sanwoolu cannot develop Lagos if all the party members have taken all the funds meant to develop the state. |

Education › Re: Hijab: Court Strikes Out Human Right Suit Against University Of Ibadan School by drlateef: 7:35am On Sep 14, 2019 |
dyydxx: I'm sorry but you are the one saying rubbish.
Firstly, wearing hijab isn't a fundamental human right to all muslims. I know many muslims that dont wear it, infact there are some interpretations of the hadith that don't mandate it and there isn't a 100% consensus among the ummah on this issue. So even in the muslim world, it's not like everybody agrees with this view. But, if you have made it compulsory to yourself and according to your own beliefs, that doesn't give you any right to express it every and anywhere. Infact, even the fundamental human right is not an unqualified right and there are certain restrictions depending on the circumstances.
2ndly, Nigeria has no state religion constitutionally, even though we are very religious...which means every organisation has a right to its own views and has a right to determine what is acceptable and allowed in its premises. The same way you say you must wear hijab and it's a fundamental right is also the same way an organisation can decide it wants a specific dress code as it's own fundamental right. I have a right to have a workplace free of religious or political inferences if I so wish, If you are not happy then dont come here. You can wear hijab in your house or in islamic schools where they are allowed. It's a free world but you can't impose your ways on an organisation that doesn't want that identity and then claim your fundamental human rights are violated
3rdly, sane socieities have a ban on hijab in workplaces and schools. For example in the EU countries legislation has gone in to ban those kinds of dresses if the organisations don't want it. In the US, even though there is a first amendment guaranteeing every right especially religiously clothing the Supreme Court rule it can be denied if there is proof of an extra burden on the employer. I think the UK is very flexible but there is still a limit.
4th point, no catholic nun student can be found in any public/private schools. They have there own schools/missionary.
Last point, All these victories in the appeal court because it has never been adjucated before at the Supreme Court of Nigeria. It will soon get there and we can finally put this to bed Your argument is the typical argument of someone who has not travelled wide. Travel is education. In the Australian army you have a female muslim general. She wears hijab. In Police service in UK, they wear hijab as part of uniform. In Europe where I live children wear hijab in schools and public places. Only very few countries in Europe have banned it in public establishment because of pressures from right wingers. I have seen nuns attending universities in their hijab. They also attend public schools in Europe wearing hijab. All your arguments are complete nonsennse as i said because you belong to the backward thinking group that believes you must limit the rights of others when your own rights are protected. In UK parliament you have the sikh wearing his turban. I have also seen the jew man wearing h8s skull cap in the parliament. Developed societies try to ensure inclusiveness of minorities and their religious right is guaranteed. Its only backward people who talk and reason like you. Nigeria is a secular society and yet we see crosses on our hospital logo. You see many people using government offices as extension of their church. You see weekends that favours christians while muslims are not free to rest on a Friday. You see christmas and other holidays being granted. What exactly does "secular" means? |

bmlsbmls: And what about consultant clinical scientists in UK? Do they also pass results to their doctors? Yes, there are extremely few consultant clinical scientists and consultant nurses, pharmacists. But they all know their limits. A consultant laboratory or clinical scientists will never interprete results for doctors. He can only suggests what next can be done in form of laboratory tests. Their role is mostly advisory to the doctors. If a consultant laboratory physician gives an interpretation on laboratory tests etc, no other doctor can change it. And when you say clinical science, do they have clinical training or just laboratory training? There are many numenclatures in UK but definitely, nobody claims what he is not trained to do. And all groups are tightly regulated, unlike in Nigeria. |

Health › Re: Help Needed: Sleeplessness, Persistent Pain In The Head And Neck by drlateef: 11:43pm On Sep 12, 2019 |
ssgi4in1: Good evening good people. I am hoping I will get some help here. Pls this will be a bit a long. I beg you to read. So you can understand better.
My problem started last year April (2018). I was diagnosed with typhoid and malaria. I was started on a course of treatment that involves anti malaria and an antibiotics (azithromycin). I noticed the quality of my sleep was dropping after taking the antibiotic for 2 days. My instincts was that it was the medicine. I eventually stopped taking it but by then my sleep have become badly affected. I woke up a Sunday morning after taking some drinks the previous night at a wedding with one severe type of headache ( I started the antibiotics on Thursday, took on Friday and missed it that Saturday) I continued that Sunday morning. So I eventually stopped all medicine and consulted a doctor friend. By then I had gone two nights with little or no sleep. He prescribed some drugs that was meant to induce sleep and even increased the dosage yet I still couldn't sleep.
Meanwhile before then, I am someone who could be called a sleeper. I can sleep at anytime without stress. I even take naps here and there in my office. So it was strange.
I eventually went to some hospitals and their treatment involved giving me sleep medicines and sometimes it could help me get very little amount of sleep and then it will make me feel very groggy and heavily fatigued. By this time a weird sensation have developed in the left side of my back head (this pain doesn't come and go... It is permanent). After spending some huge amounts I wasn't getting relief until I went to a neurologist. He first suspended all the sleep medications and started giving me amitriptyline 5mg every night ( after few days I started feeling better and had some deep sleep) but still the problem wasn't gone ( head pain and stiff neck).
I was paying about 30k monthly at the neurologists. It wasn't sustainable and I eventually stopped and decided to take my fate in my own hands. I eventually stopped taking any medication for sleep last November.
Between then and now, I have had some good nights where I slept very deeply and nights when I struggled. I have gone like 2 weeks without sleep issues. But still the pain in the back of the head and neck still persist.
Just yesterday I went to consult another gp and his diagnosis was that it was the poor sleep that is causing the pain in the head and neck. But I still find it difficult to believe. I will be having a video session with an Indian neurologist tommorow and I hope he will make a different diagnosis.
My coming here is to know if anyone have had an experience with my case and I would like to know how they solved their problem.
I will appreciate any suggestion that will be of help.
Thank you. Did you do any MRI or CT of head and neck? I suspect some toticolis of the sternocleidomastoid muscle. Go for a massage of the neck and also take some muscle relaxant like diazepam. |

I have never seen a country where illegal immigrants are leaving voluntarily and the immigration stands in their way. Whether they have papers or not. Its very strange. And some people are shouting Buhari. I hope they are not delusional. What has Buhari got to do with it? Obviously the South Africans are just ashamed and do not want the evacuation to further tarnish their image. Its bad enough for your people to kill foreigners. Its worse to see foreigners leaving voluntarily, after you claim that your country is too much and that they are taking over your jobs. |

The wife is doing her Job, she is not peter odilli , she is Mary odilli . we saw this coming ..she was a time bomb waiting to explode after Buhari's men have finished with their abrakadabra case. It's not only APC illegal judges bought over by the government that are available. FGN should go after odilli at their own peril, you will see the cold war in Nigerian Judiciary. If you think outside the box, you would realise that Mary Odili has been a judge long enough to witness many civilian regimes including that of her husband. Has she ever dished out such opinion to them during the PDP years? Her vituperations are just that of corruption fighting back. Simple. |

ChiefkeefGB4: Frontpage Lalastiscala!Watch they will now come for Justice Mary Odili. She is no saint because she is married to Peter Odili former River State Governor who got a perpetual injunction from investigation by EFCC. How can someone get a perpetual injection from investigation and prosecution? Is he above the law? Obviously there is some corruption in that judgement and it needs to be revisited and the judge should be probed. Odili should face the music. This is era of justice, not pdp years. May God never take us back to pdp years. And on Buhari, i think this is an oversight on his part and he should correct it immediately. Justice Odili and the rest corrupt judges must know the war on corruption is total. She should watch her back. To be honest, she veered off her brief in that judgement because nobody brought a case of impropriety against Buhari using government lawyers in this case before her. And if she is going to make general statements, she has to have condemned all past presidents and governors, all politicians to be exact, who used or are using, or will be using goverment property or funds to prosecute personal legal cases. I am sure her husband is also culpable in that. And by association she would also have benefitted from that. |

Christianity Etc › Re: Should A Church Worker Who Fornicated Confess To The Church? by drlateef: 9:17am On Sep 01, 2019 |
I can see many christians stating that even one sin will lead you to hell. And the church asking people to come out and confess a sin covered for you is an anathema.
Where is penetence and forgiveness in christiandom? Does that mean that Jesus does not forgive your sins? If thats the case, all christians will end up in hell fire because they dont expect forgiveness of sin. All human beins must commit sin anyway, whether you are aware of it or not.
And why open up your weakness to the pastors who are sinners themselves? Are they God or angels? Are they the Jesus? Can they swear that they dont commit sins in private too? Who do they confess their own sins to? No human should expose their weakness to another weak human being. Pray to your Lord to forgive you and keep the sin to yourself. As someone said earlier, asking those you offended to forgive you is an excellent behaviour. |
