samparian:I wonder why anytime I tell em where I work the next question Is how much do you earn, Must Ladies always ask this question ? Hungry Girls! |
Ori e O 4kasibe! |
tpia:why e dey pain U na? ahh you fall into the demographic I've been describing, poor girl. |
tpia:Sorry to dissapoint you sweetie, but i've never had problems in that area my whole life. You've got it twisted, Im selling, not buying. I've got girls(plural). My name is d-ROC read the biography, duh! |
d-ROC's Valentine Diary. Driving through the streets of Lagos on valentine's day I couldn't help but notice one thing, RED, RED, RED! I noticed that most of the girls wearing red were either walking the streets or hanging out at the entrance of popular joints in groups with no male companions in sight. I had to ask, " did these girls have vals or were they trying to catch a mugu on vals day?", .Their counterparts in rides were hardly flashing red all over lagos (Poor girls like to flash a lot). The most amazing thing I saw on val's day was a half-naked girl entering alade market on allen avenue with a red top and white hot pants(I thought I was in Brazil) ,jaws were dropping to the floor,It was scandalous! Now tell me what a girl like this is trying to do? Your guess is as good as mine. This is a trademark of poor girls who are desperately looking for some guy to leech on for vals day. Red Just screams I'm available! Well, I never said any girl wearing red is poor but the poor girls have hijacked the whole red and Pink (val's colors) in order to enhance their marketing strategies. |
ajiri avae:this so so true, from a pshycological point of view. ![]() |
90% of the girls i've dated asked me out. When i was younger i would run away with shyness. Now, i just let them make fools of themselves( if I dont like em). I still get asked out but i know the girls get real emotional about doing it, if you say no then watcha back. |
nike4luv:@ Nike, Its been ages since we saw you on Nairaland. How you living? |
Moyola:This has been the mantra for most girls from the dawn of time, girls say this all the time, it's not new. Now the guys are saying something new and people begin screaming bloody murder! You talk say you no wan date poor boy! fine; poor boy find him level, now boys talk say them no wan date poor girls, now, U sef find ur level. |
The thing with gold diggers is that they're only passing time with the guy while waiting for a better offer. How many guys here on nairaland can swear that their chic wont leave them if she meets a multi-millioniare who is ready lavish his money on them. I've seen a poor girl dump her boyfriend of 3 years for a milliionaire because she had family issues. Obviously from a poor family, they encouraged her to go for the richer guy just because of the money. She abandoned her true love only to realise later that money wasn't everything, you can never but a price tag on happiness. The economy is bad, the value of money is depreciating but the value of love, priceless, timeless. |
@ RichyBlacK, I believe relationships should be 50-50, better still each person should give a 100%. A relationship should be synonymous with symbiosis and not parasitism. Holla! |
cvibe:This thread has officially made headline news. It's obvious that this is a topic a lot of people have overlooked up till now. Ya'll keep your opinions rolling. holla. |
ohaechesi:Simply got to the romance page and scroll down to the end and click on new topic. Lets hear what you have to say. |
women marry for security reasons( financial, emotional and otherwise), what do men marry for? Watch out for a new thread by d-ROC dealing with the topic. Cheers. |
ijleke:True! So why do some ladies say they won't date a guy without a car? especially the "Po ones". Cheers Pennywise:Weird Philosophy, but equally true. |
kingsikaz:Now that's pretty hard to resist, rich or poor! |
bonnez:I totally agree with you. Bonnez and SeanT21 were the most objective on this thread. There was a lot wisdom in your replies. binhozie:If you don't like it then lock yourself in your room or move over, sheesh some people sha |
d-ROC's back in the building! Now where were we? ![]() |
@ Heatfusion, What's really going on? |
Czarskit:Sorry dude, you're just not making any sense. If you had been following the thread (I can see you just jumped in from who knows where) you'll understand that the poster is basically saying "a woman thats comfortable on her own will have little or no inclination to be a Gold digger", hence the notion that poor girls are more likely to be Gold Diggaz cos they ain't got no gold, You Dig? So, run along dear boy and quit telling seniors what to do. |
HeatFusion:So, In your mind any woman who has a job, a car and is independent is a "rich woman", Haba! that's a complex right there - check yourself DaPhoenix:what's really ironic is your lack of common sense (Oh I forgot! you're gay). |
HeatFusion:So, In your mind any woman who has a job, a car and is independent is a "rich woman", Haba! that's a complex right there - check yourself. |
I tried to keep this thread as balanced and objective as possible but some people generalise and take things way too personal. I love women whether poor, rich or middle class. I just don't appreciate women who pretend to have class when they don't- Period. |
DaPhoenix:sorry, I haven't been to one of those since my university days. Ask your boyfriend though. |
HeatFusion:Dont get me wrong, this ain't female bashing at all. Maybe this topic is peculiar to some Lagos chics. It's like everywhere I go all I hear them girls talk about is how much money a guy has to have before they'll consider dating him. They always want to know how much you're making, If it's high they'll be throwing themselves at you but if it's not you're lucky if they don't insult you in some way for wasting their time. A brother is simply saying that he'll reverse the same principles you ladies have been using for ages and now you call it 'Female Bashing". Why the double standards? There's gotta be at least someone out here with some common sense to understand this, Pheeww! spikedcylinder:I've got a lot more than you baby. sillyboy:True, Imagine seeing a poor girl trying to bargain her weight in gold as if she's gonna add anything to the relationship. @Tope2000; Get off my back! |
Im really feeling this song right now Miss Independent by Neyo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVbeqAPVGeI&feature=related |
DaPhoenix:Am sorry, Im "Hot Property" and I've got dozens of awards dating back 10 years to prove it. Mr this, Mr that, No pictures Please. I couldn't start a thread like this and expect that some "Po - Sistas" on nairaland will let it fly. Bring it On! |
BlueDiva:Let me set the record straight, You don't know me, so don't mention me and poor in the same sentence. I got a great position at a multinational company and a great family background. The excerpts of the conversation I quoted was ages ago when i was still a student (even then I was a boss). I wish that chic could see me now she'd eat her words big time. Women have been asking me out my whole life, last week a chic asked to date me; said he'll break up with her bf to make it possible. Unfortunately she didn't meet my criteria so I had to decline and the same look I've seen on so many ladies shows up again, now shes like not calling me again and sulking.WTF? they say i break a lot of hearts this way, can't help it. I run a no-sentiments policy, I can't have someone around who cannot add value to my life the same way I'll add to theirs. |
arramyjay:@arramyjay; it seems you fit the profile being described in this thread. Sorry, I'm not giving any handouts today try again next week. Get a job. |
I remember this conversation like it was yesterday. d-ROC: have you considered my proposal? Gold-digger: excuse me, d-ROC you don't have the type of money i'm looking for jo. d-ROC: What about love? Gold-digger: Abeg na your love I go chop, how much you wan give me? d-ROC: But I've grown to care about you, just give me a chance. Gold-digger: Please spare me, my dad just passed away and I'm the first daughter and i have to support my mother and younger ones. Is it your chicken change that I will use to do this? d-ROC: but these past few days I've tried to meet all your demands and I'm quite sympathetic about the situation in your family. I have the heart to see you through this, we can overcome these challenges together. Gold-digger Bursts into laughter) I think I should tell you that I have 7 boyfriends.d-ROC: But why didn't you tell me this before I started spending on you and developing feelings for you. Gold-digger: How do you expect me to survive? definitely not on your peanuts. d-ROC: alright, I respect your decision. Gold-digger: Sorry, you cant give me what I want. d-ROC: I just realised that I actually have nothing to gain from you as well, you have nothing to offer me. Gold-digger:(Flares up) what kind of insult is that, sob, sob. d-ROC: But that's what you've been saying to me all this while, now you think it's an insult. how do you think I feel. d-ROC: Think about it, what do you have to offer me? Gold-digger: well, well, stop insulting me Gold-digger: Umm, can I get some cab fare and a recharge card? U know I'm finding things difficult since I'm the first daughter. Thanks. Ever since I've decided to raise the standards on what I expect of a woman. |
SeanT21:SeanT21, thanks for an objective response, you really understood the topic. |
Im now officially allergic to poor girls. |
