Mark my keyword "permanent". Worry could disrupt sleep and overtime raise blood pressure. But it comes down on its own when the issue is addressed. The poster said he wasn't worried. God knows humans would worry, the body accommodates it.

In his case, I suspect hereditary.. Family history should be looked into. Equally, the lifestyle I earlier mentioned is suspect too

"worrying" does not cause permanent high blood pressure as narrated by the OP, it's diet related. Red meat, fatty food, sugary stuff, alcohol, etc but some Doctors won't tell you.

From your write up, those values doesn't really confirm you are hypertensive but you may be pre-hypertensive thou the diastolic value is a bit high but the systolic value is normal. 140/90mmHg is classified as the high normal value. Try to reduce salt intake, do moderate exercise and don't practice self medication. My 2 cent
