Lance, in all honesty, it all depends on the ad placement that will make you generate more earnings.
Just put up a small write up on downloading stuffs, eg, joys of downloading & sharing, this will help you get targeted ads, and will make your users do the justice of giving you a click.
No matter how much you spend in Adwords, you can get a few pennies back with Adsense, at least once you have lots of textural data on your site.

Ok, I dunno much about Adsense and I was talling a lady on chat few days back that there will soon be a degree course - Adsense Engineering.
I will do as you've said in the next version of the site and see if it gets better. woulda even made some ad sense if it was possible to transfer adsense earnings to adwords. or am I missing something? i that possible?

For the FTN (five thousand naira) designers, they should be doing about 5 "sites" in a month, so that's 25k excluding money they will spend hosting (if applicable).

K, on the more serious note I think most designers earn money per job or contract, not really a per month thingy.

So, about how much time you spend online that's strictly family issues that I have no say in. When I was 14 there were no phones or gadgets, the closest I got to having a gadget was this big walkie talkie box I had in my bag that I could always use to call the base (home) and its twin which was with the driver  . The closest I got to a PC was cloning a "386" and installing windows version 3.1 on it before windows 95 came out! So back then it was book book book, cuz there really weren't any other options, until PS1 came into the picture 
If you do well in your studies, it may buy you some time to be online.
