Congratulations

EngrDewole:
Okay this is going to be a long post.

God is just great. Being a silent reader but i must say i really learnt a alot eventhough i submitted my application before dicovering this thread. Didnt have the best of timeline and anytime my mind think about not including SOP i just think about how i messed up but God still came through for me.

Online Submitted on the 6/10/2018
Biometrics on the 9/10/2018
Medical mail on the 4/12/2018
Gate crashed iom lagos on the 5/12/2018. Thank God they never picked my call for inquiries because they would have told me fully booked till February 2019. Hian!! Pleaded with the woman at the front desk and she allowed me through before her boss came in. Is that not God at work? Anyways did my normal checkup before the doctor said my blood pressure was high that i need to go see a cardiologist. I explained to him that i drove all the way from osun state to lagos state that there is no way my blood pressure won't be high considering the situation of Nigerian roads. All fell on deaf ears and he still insisted on me seeing the cardiologist that cost me extra buck but hey, there was nothing i could do, the ECG later came out and they declared me fit. I was scared but i knew nothing was wrong with me. Anyways i passed the medical.

Ppr came in two weeks later on the 18/12/2018 around 9am. Drove down to lagos the same day to submit but there was a terrible traffic on the way so couldn't meet up.

Submitted my passport on the 19/12/2018. Then the long wait started. For 20days no response sent email to lagos visa office yesterday and then i received update yesterday about my stamped passport. I was thinking maybe my village people finally got me but again God pass them.

Received my passport today 8/01/2019. School resumed yesterday though. Anyways i applied to Concordia university Montreal Meng in electrical and computer engineering winter 2019. God be praised

Document submitted.
1)All imm forms
2)Soa dad(9m)and mum (mum soa was literally empty but still submitted that way since i already introduced her as one of my sponsor). Didnt include my account.
3)Pension account dad (15m)and mum(13m)
4)CAC cerificate for my parent
5)Family form
6)Travel history (Malaysia and south Korea)
7)Police cerificate for Malaysia and nigeria.
8 ) Bsc certificate Electronics engineering from my school in Malaysia.
9) CAQ from Quebec
10)Some of the awards and certificates i received while in school
11) letter of introduction from my parents.
12) internship job offer letter
13) waec result, Cambridge A level result and Bsc transcript
And prayers prayers prayers.

My thoughts having SOP is very important so please do include it eventhough I didn't. But having a genuine application is importanter. These VO are humans and they will definitely be logical in the way they access these applications. Anyways i wish everyone still expecting there trv approval all the best!!

God bless you with this info , I think it’s an eye opener for people . I pray the good lord favors you in everything you do out there .

Naijaforeigner:
A very important information for everyone on this thread.

When you get to immigration and you get your study permit, please i beg you to quickly scan through and check very well that your permit says you are eligible to work on and off campus. This is very important.

When i got my stuidy permit, it was written "only eligible to work on Campus". If I had known that such errors could happen, I would have checked very well before leaving the POE and maybe call the attention of the immigration officer to that error. This was an error from the immigration official and I now have to return my study permit for this to be ammended and may take months for me to get it back. The permit limits me to only on campus jobs (getting a job on campus is challenging but I stay hopeful). I have been in Canada for a month without a job.

Trust me, if you have ever lived abroad, you don't want to go months without working except your parents are very rich.

As i continue my journey in Canada, any other thing i find useful, i will post here.

Well said, couldn’t agree with you more .

makano:
Ok. But in case you dont know, its our custom here for every moniker to share his or her profile once he or she gets a decision, whether Approval or Refusal. The reason for this (Approval) is for the prospective applicants to know what and what they need to do from the profile shared for them to have a very good application to submit and for the expectant applicants to still have some hope. In case you dont know, every approval shared on this thread lifts up the spirit of applicants especially the ones still waiting for their decisions and also that actually keeps the house alive. And for the refused applicants, they share their profile to the house so the gurus can put them through on what to do to reapply and get their Visa, and of course so many people here have benefited from that. So please I am not forcing anybody to drop his or her profile, i was just reminding him on what he needs to do. I just need to tell you cos its obvious you dont really know our activities here since you joined 15 weeks after you submitted. Congrats once again on ur TRV. Peace

Sir/Ma, it is very wrong to say what you said . No hard feelings but I believe it’s customary to
drop a Profile either approval or refusal .

I’m happy you got your approval but I’m sure even after the approval , you must have learn one or two stuffs on this platform .. We are all here to help each other .. writing your profile is not a big deal.

Just my own opinion .. like I said , no hard feelings .

Bracha:
On this, it isn't mandatory for him/her to write his/her full profile.

I wrote mine because I wanted to. I was way in my 15th week of application submission before I was told this topic/thread exists. Nairaland didn't help me with anything, God did. So saying someone should "drop your full profile" like it's compulsory is wrong. IMO.

Bracha:
My application has been approved. Here's my timeline, and a summary of the documents I submitted.

Online application
Application: 24th of July
Biometric: 25th July
Biometric receipt confirmation: 27th July.
I sent several messages to London, but kept getting 'your application is actively being reviewed'
Sent London immigration the 4th message on 15th December, exactly 20 weeks, 1 day after submission.
Lagos responded on the 17th saying 'my application is being reviewed' 13 minutes after my application was updated to 'medical requested'
Medicals: 21st December
Passport Request/Medical passed: 28th December - 1 week after medical was done.
Passport submission: 28th December
I kept seeing 'no record found' when trying to track my Passport on vfsglobal's website.
Sent Lagos immigration an email on 3rd of January telling them my school resumed on that day.
Correspondence Letter/Application status updated to 'approved': 5th January.
I'll be going to get my passport soon.

Documents submitted:
SOP, BSc. transcript, school fees tuition receipt, sponsor's account statement for 6 months (can't remember how much he had, and he lives in Canada), my bank statement for 1 month, financial support letter from my supervisor, my mum's land deed, acceptance letter.
PS: if there are other documents, I can't remember them now.

Note: I applied twice in 2017 and was denied.
In this application, I prayed, fasted and had an unwavering faith in God all through it all.
I can't give anyone my SOP because I don't know where these documents are right now.

School: Brandon University
Course: MELS - Masters in Environmental and Life Science.

You will be assigned a seat , don’t worry . But if you have a preference ( e.g, some people like window seat , you can either pay for it or wait for 24 hours to your departure , you will be able to choose a seat without paying a dime )

Flight gurus: please for those who have used Egypt air, did you have to pay for your seat? I'm trying to book a seat and everything says chargeable seats angry
Is it necessary to pay for it ?(there's no particular choice for any seat)
Will you be assigned a seat if you don't book one?
Or just pay for it to avoid stories?

Of course , you can apply from Ghana but I think you must have a permanent residence/work permit of that country or perhaps a study permit .

Note : I stand to be corrected

hilaryxoxo:
Someone should please tell me this is a joke?!

18 f*cking weeks when it’s not citizenship we are applying for! That’s roughly 4 f*cking months what the f*ck!

Please does “where are you applying from” have to do with the location you’re applying from or your citizenship? What happens if I am a Nigerian but wanna apply from Ghana?

Nice !! Hope you had an amazing flight . May the good Lord be with you.

Naijaforeigner:
Hello all, so I arrived Toronto just now, passed border, immigration, collected SIN and waiting for RobertQ bus to take me to London.

And a wonderful Nairalander offered (infact 2 people) to take me from the bus park in London to the hotel provided for me by my school for 2 nights.

I will give full details of everything when I settle in my hotel later today. God bless nairalanders, the show of love is out of this world. Infact someone even offered to drive all the way from London to Toronto to come pick me from the airport to my hotel.

God bless Nairaland, God bless seun. Thank you once again to all those who have contributed on this thread, God bless you all.

Amen !!

goingforward:
Hello Nairalanders,

Let go of your concerns, then you will know that I am God, I rule the nations, I rule the earth. (Psalm 46 vs 10).
Knowing God's power and authority, knowing that He will receive honor no matter what can quiet the anxiety and concerns you face.
Every time you feel concerned, remember that He is God who loves you and has the power and authority over whatever is bothering you.

Let go of your concerns, be calm, know Him, Praise him. Be joyful no matter what.

I pray that all your heart desires for Canada Study TRV's be answered in Jesus mighty name.

Amen.

Thank you boss, I applied for Undergraduate degree .

Anfieldboss:

UP always have funny requirements, I was told to go and do Honours with my BEng Electrical Engineering degree, after been evaluated by SAQA as NQF Level 8, meanwhile WITS and UKZN offered me admission for Masters that same year.

I'll advise you try another school.

Hi, I've tried to send you a Direct message ..

Agbons101:
mine was very long too...so i decided to put the first page and followed up with the pages with the opening month balance for the first 3months and then included the remaining detailed 3months.

Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by dubaiboy1: 3:38pm On Nov 14, 2018
Yes oo Mr Frank .. I intend to remove some pages from the 3 months SOA... Lol. I have 140 pages of SOA alone .

Frankrobbn1:

Then go ahead and submit the 3 months SOA, it's also acceptable!. Wait a minute, is it the 3 months SOA that you intend removing some pages? If yes, I don't buy the idea of you doing such.
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by dubaiboy1: 12:02pm On Nov 14, 2018
I even printed 3 months , not 4 months.

Frankrobbn1:

Instead of removing some pages from the SOA, why not print a 4 months bank statement, at least this will reduce the pages and also show consistent inflow and outflow of funds with available balance.
