Your uncle needs an affidavit of support, attesting that he will incur all cost during your stay in Canada, that he is fully aware of your travelling to Canada for studies, that he will make sure that funds will be made available for you during subsequent years of study, stating his relationship with you (applicant) etc... this affidavit of support will be stamped and signed by a notary public officer or commissioner of oaths in a federal high court, while your uncle signs as the deponent. It's very crucial you include it with your application.

Guys, I saw something here about a sworn affidavit of sponsorship.. What is a sworn affidavit of sponsorship and what details must it entails ? Do I need one if my Uncle is my sponsor ? He has given me a letter to take responsibility of my study cost.... Enlighten me on this one guys...

It's not important to do that on your SOP. The IMM1294 study permit application form is the best place to state the refusal.

Hello house, please someone should clarify me in this issue. I got my offer letter from Brandon university for an undergraduate program in Economics but the offer letter just stated 4- years bachelor of Art without mentioning my program which is Economics. Note I studied banking and finance in my diploma.
Won't this pose a problem with VO in trying to know the exact program I'm going for considering the fact economics wasn't mentioned in the offer letter and my previous study was banking and finance?
I'm thinking of contacting the school and ask for a new offer letter or for them to make a change with the one issued to me. Is the decision to contact the school a wise one?

I intend to use the digital copy instead of the hard paper copy as my account is very busy. I’m sure my 1 year Statement account won’t have less than 1,000 transactions (I don’t know how many pages that will be and how I’d compress it into a legible scan).

Check your admission letter ...You will see the tuition fee for your course of study , Health Insurance , Accommodation and other bill... Sum it up and add an additional CAD10K.. The total will be the amount you must have for your first year of study.

So under the document check list form.. I found the following :

IMM 1294 form ( Application for study permit made outide of Canada )

Family form IMM5707

Statutory Declaration of Common-law Union ( IMM5409 )

Use of Representative ( IMM 5476 )

Authority to release personal information to a designated individual ( IMM 5475 )

Custodianship Declaration for minors studying in Canada ( IMM 5646 )


BUT my question is Do I need to submit all these forms ? The only form applicable to me is the IMM 1294 and the family form . What do I do with the rest ?


Also, I can't seem to find the IMM 5475 anywhere on the CIC website .

2: He is not willing to give me the Original CAC certificate of his company, can I submit the photocopy?

Are you considering saying NO ?? Don't do it , just be straight forward with your application and make sure you tackle the reasons why you were refused in the first place... My points though, I stand to be corrected.

Online applications require you scan and upload to your profile at the time of submission

In my own humble opinion, I think a 2 pages detailed SOP is great. You don't want to bore out the VO. I stand to be corrected though.

Are you currently on a visiting Visa in Dubai? If so, you will have to return to your home country to apply for your study permit. But if you're a on a Student Visa or permanent residence over there, then you are eligible to apply from Dubai. I don't seem to understand what you mean by the bolded words. Do you mean to say your uncle has given his documents to a distant relative last year for visa application? If so? Yes you can use his documents, try everything humanly possible to get an updated bank statement from him and know the progress of the previous relative he gave his financial documents to be sure if the applicant application is still undergoing processing with CIC or finished, so that the applicant application won't collide with yours(i.e using one (1) person to sponsor two (2) different applications.
More so, in a situation where by this is a maternal uncle, attach your mom marriage certificate, birth certificate and uncle birth certificate and international passport bio data page to evident that both of them once shared same family name.
In addition, you can as well show strong proof of relationship with uncle, which can be history or ongoing financial support from him.
