Hi,

I think you should read from the beginning of this thread to understand a lot better .

I can't make a comment on the chances of getting the study permit but I can definitely drop a few points from what I've learned on this forum.

*** Can you get your payslip ? You can use it plus your Nigeria SOA but I'd advise you use your father in law as the main Sponsor.

*** It will make much sense if your Sponsor can show a sign of commitment by sending the needed amount of money to your account.

*** And as for the documents from your sponsor.. I think just the usual to prove your relationship, letter of sponsorship, his work docs..etc.

*** Get a letter from your employer stating your position at the company, your salary and the time you've been working there..( I got one for myself, hence the advise )

*** You will also need a police character certificate from the Dubai police.. Go to Naif police station or Murraqabat police HQ with your Emirate ID and about 400 AED..

If I think of anything else, I will let you know .. All the best to you and all of us awaiting a decision.

SetApart78:
Good day great minds, am new here and I started following this thread only recently. I have issues bordering on study permit application process and requirements I need the elders on this forum to help me clarify.
I had a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and for the bast 3 years I have been working as a Health and Safety engineer in the UAE. I intend to improve on my competence by pursuing a Msc in Safety and risk Engineering program in Canada, of which I was given admission on 3rd of Aug, 2018, for the winter semester commencing in January, 2019. I am 39 years old. Though am married with 3 kids, I have been alone while my family is in Nigeria. My salary account in the UAE does not house any fund, I transfer home as soon as I receive. Considering the slow pace/delay in getting the study permit in Nigeria, i intend to apply for the study permit here in the UAE(my program starts in January 2019), as was earlier said.

My concerns:
1. What are my chances of getting the study permit?

2. Which SOA(statement Of Account) should I use as my UAE account is not always sufficiently funded or should I simply go to Nigeria and apply?

3. The required minimum fund(at least for the first year) in my Nigeria account is also not readily available(only about 3M) and I intent to fund it up to 10M. Will the VO not have an issue with the sudden huge financial inflow?

4. If I must use a sponsor, can I use my father in-law and what are the documents he needs to provide to support/prove his sponsorship capability.

I need your inputs please

You should try oanda converter.

yemupz:

If you just type "convert cad to ngn" on Google, you'll get the official exchange rate. I think that's much easier and straightforward than looking for the different bank rates.

My advise : Read this thread from the beginning . Just take your time to go through it all and believe me, you will understand a lot better .

tonnymexx:
Hello gurus,

What forms is it needed for paper application? Please I also need someone to guard me on the process.

Thanks

Good to know I'm not the only one ... LOL.. I check every second. And honestly, I can't keep my mind on other things . It will all end in praise ..

Naijaforeigner:

Bro, this Canada visa process is “tormenting” mentally. You need to see how I check every minute. The status change occurred this afternoon. We shall testify.

MizGee:
Very long post alert.
Silent Follower here, since my first application in 2017 which was denied. I found this thread after submitting and realised I hadn’t put in a good enough application (it was also for a PGD), so it was no surprise when it got denied.
I re-applied on June 13 ‘18 (paper route) with upfront medicals. Medicals got updated about a week later and eligibility review began 3 weeks ago. I logged-in this morning and found it to have been approved. I had contacted VFS yesterday and been informed that it was on transit, so I was expecting the update today.
I’m going for a Master’s in Environmental Management at USask, Fall ‘18 session. I submitted:
The application forms
My sponsor’s (father) SOAs with balances of 11M naira and between 10-15 USD (I don’t remember the exact figure)
Sponsorship letter/ affidavit
Statement from family friends in Saskatoon, stating that they’d cover my accommodation/ living expenses.
Tuition fee receipt of 5k (USask had asked for the deposit)
Employment/ promotion letters, pension certificate, study leave letter from workplace (civil service), work ID
Land documents
Police certificate
An SOP detailing why I was pursuing an MSc in a totally different field from my current employment. Studied Microbiology (2010) but worked in Data Collection as a civil servant for nearly 5 years now
LOE addressing the concerns raised in the GCMS notes for the previous application
Educational certificates (BSc, WAEC, etc)

These are the documents I recall submitting, off the top of my head.

I would like to hookup with other USask people going this Fall, please PM me (I hope I’m able to figure out how that work), thanks.

Download the form with PDF and fill on the computer before printing.

Omowunmibaby:
Please am sorry this may sound silly. I have tried searching for answers but didn't get any.

I want to be sure and confirm that's why am asking this question f.

How do I fill my application forms if I want to submit via paper route? Fill and print or print then fill?

I don't mind if I can get a link to that.

Thank you

I think what he was trying to tell you is getting someone to pay for you isn't the right move .. They might use a stolen credit card details to pay for your application. Use your Naira Master card to pay for whatever you want .

blaqnony:

Please does it mean using ones credit card automatically means credit card fraud ?

I don't think you need a transit Visa since you are not leaving the airport in Germany..

Mbaku86:
Please do i require a transit visa for Germany. I am flying to Vancouver and there will be a 7 hours layover at Frankfurt? If i would require one please what other alternative airlines can i use without obtaining a Transit visa.

@deboskie .. I sent you a PM bro .. I need to talk to you please.

deboskie:
More so, since he is your maternal uncle you have to submit his birth certificate, your mom's birth certificate, your mom's marriage certificate as well and if your uncle has international passport try to submit his data page. These documents are for proof of relationship between your uncle and mom.

Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by dubaiboy1: 4:23pm On Jul 14, 2018
Thank you

deboskie:
Your Uncle is in category of third party. Has he paid for your first year tuition fee and sent your living expenses into your account? or has he sent both your tuition fee and living expenses for your first year into your account? Doing this is a proof that you have direct access to your required first year expenses. If that has been done and he has written a convincing sponsorship letter in regard to why he is sponsoring you and explained how he intend paying for your subsequent years expenses in the letter. Also, if he has given you a good statement of account to show he would be able to sponsor your entire years of studies with other documents to proof his source of income and identity then I believe you would be fine without the affidavit of sponsorship. People with third party have gotten their approvals without affidavits of sponsorship but they were able to convince the VO with other documents submitted that their Uncle is capable and genuine sponsor. Best of luck.

Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by dubaiboy1: 4:02pm On Jul 14, 2018
The Sponsor is my Uncle...Same Surname with my Mom .. And the problem with the affidavit is , they won't notarize it if he is not present .

deboskie:
If your sponsor is not a third party and you have a sponsorship letter from him/her then affidavit of sponsorship is not necessary but if you are using third party as your sponsor then I will advise you get affidavit of sponsorship. Though, I think I have seen some approval on here without affidavit of sponsorship in documents submitted. IMO try to include it as it stands as a legal document from your sponsor pledging to financially support your education.

I'm not exactly sure you need it notarized (just thinking). But if you must, go to Ikeja High court, you will see notary public tire and their opinions and requirements "may" be different.
