I am a lady and my desire and dream Wedding is a very simple one.

From traditional to church blessing...

The traditional and church blessing should be same day. Traditional done in the morning and church blessing afterwards.

Would like to wed on a weekday,

With very few people in attendance.

Won't be wearing a wedding gown,

Will wear a very comfy dress and comfy shoes.

No make up or just a slight touch up which I can do myself.

There can be cake but very small and almost plain, no unnecessary decoration.

Very few guests because there would only be few already packed souvenirs which would be handed over to guests as they step out of church with my husband and I to take a few photographs.

No reception whatsoever, go home once you receive your food pack and souvenir.

After photographs, we go to our home. Happy and loving each other to continue our friendship and building life together.

I remember this thread from last year.. It was becoming interesting then it suddenly ended..
So whats the updates..

For me, the first dish I learnt to cook was banga rice (as it has come to be known now).

Back then, being in the village on holidays, we were allowed to explore, so it was more of me experimenting with ingredients than actually learning to cook a specific rice dish.
So, with fresh ingredients and a fireplace at my disposal, there was no restricting my imagination and creativity.

I remember that day because it was the day the whole family (adults to be precise) were going to work together to process and extract palm oil from all the palm fruits we had harvested, so it was no easy work, was going to be a long day, and the adults were much too busy for any of them to make lunch for the children.
So, after they were done cooking and pounding the palm fruits, I took permission to collect some of the pounded palm fruits, I extracted the juice(oil), poured it into a clean pot and proceeded to cooking.
The firewood turned coals from the fireplace were still blazing, so it was such a great opportunity to make the most of before it was put out, and I took it.
It would've been a waste if the fire was put out without making the most of it.
So, while cooking, I just somehow knew what I wanted in the food, or maybe it was more of making the most of what was available.
I wasn't even afraid to fail because I explored free mindedly, and I wasn’t under any pressure.
At the back of our (village)house, we had a garden of herbs and peppers which belonged to my grandmother, so I plucked some nchuanwu (known as scent leaves) and fresh peppers from there, took some rice, dried fish and crayfish and made the
most delicious experiment my family had ever tasted!

Very interesting.
But was the palm fruit pounded in the Odo with the aka of the Odo?
And how can you be so sure it was delicious let alone using the adverb "most"

The problem with religion especially Some if not many Christians is they emphasize so much on heaven and church activities forgetting ure living in the real world and fail to equip Christians with skills to face the real world especially when same Christians are not exactly ready to go to heaven bt want to enjoy long life on earth.

My Dad called me this evening to tell me the essence of praying. The thing is that I don't believe praying solves anything Atleast to me. the day I stopped believing and started working more on myself, I found out that things started getting better for me than those who goes to the Church and Mosques.

I am not a conventionally religious person too and my folks had issues with this, esp my Mum. I stopped attending church more than 15yrs ago, I had to figure out a path for myself. I am neither agnostic nor atheist.

Even though we have more of failed religions in this day and age, I still don't have anything against any religion though, cos I consider the foundational aspect essential.

Since you are under their roof, you may have to explain your stance to them and prolly put up with whatever comes after that till they come to terms with you or you move out.

My brother's wife called me yesterday to report my brother, she said their daughter called her two days ago about what her dad has been doing to her.

She told her that, her dad has slept with her twice, so the mother called me to report the case that she's confused and doesn't know how to confront her husband.

The daughter said the first day he slept with her was when her mother went on night vigil in the church.
