Politics / Re: Ifeanyi Uba: If I Become Gov I Will Sponsor Youths To Brazil To Watch Match by DuduNegro: 8:08am On Aug 18, 2013 |
People like Ubah are the burdens in SE. I wish him luck. Let us think forward and suppose he wins and become governor. So he will sponsor kids from a village with zero fast pace to go for two weeks event in a mega city that does not sleep and where they will be sorrounded in opulence and sheer wonder of a zoom zoom lifestyle. So the kids return home with this exposure and guess where in Nigeria they will now believe they belong? You got it Lagos! After everything thats been said in the past three weeks, do people like Ubah not get it? 1 Like |

To Chairman, To Afam, To Rookie, As events of the past many days revealed, there are hard defined barriers that delineates Yoruba from Igbo. Your spent effort to create a virtual united Nigeria is not producing desirable result and is in the way of our political interest here in Nairaland. Integration of cultural and philosophical differences between Yoruba and Igbo will find success on the ground first before any meaningful online model of unity can be founded. Assaults and counter assaults at state leadership level and involving different vocal points representing ethnic sentiments are not new and until we go back to Federalism or a pre1890 existence, we must expect these exchanges to continue as part and parcel of our political culture. What we've been reading in the news media sound no different than a ethnic face off between Yoruba and Igbo in Nairaland, but without hidden posts and bans, does it not? Who is banning Orji Kalu? In here, FFK would have had half or more of his published views hidden. Each is defending the core of his spirit and who he is as a human. No spirit of pride is greater than that displayed by a man when he rises in allegiance to defend and proclaim the glory of his fatherland. Therefore it is immoral and anti-patriotic for the leaders of Nairaland to compel allegiance on us and dictate rules and enforcement of interaction under such strict structure which encourages National pride as substitute and preferred patriotism in contrast to ethnic spirit and pride. Nigeria is a surrogate fatherland. Yoruba knows where its father's house is and we are unwilling to substitute surrogate for a father. Until the various ethnic groups themselves adopt nationalism and the possessivenes of ethnicity is merged and conciled into a broader landscape beyond the native land, Nairaland ought to be nothing more than a facilitator for people to bring their realities online for sharing. I hereby urge the moderators to review your operational process here and relax the on the restrictions. From your one and only, Chief Negro Nations (A.o.OFR) 3 Likes |

PapaBrowne: PapaBrowne, There is a new reality. Yoruba never cared, until Ibo leaders went on a rampage over a non-discriminatory action in Lagos, addressing Fashola, the most Ibo-friendly Yoruba leader, insults and disparaging words. Whatever you are witnessing now is a befitting reaction that is well desrving for Ibos. Yorubas are not at all disrespectful, they are only responding in kind to you. If their output to you is disrespectful it is because your input to them is awful. So far Yoruba is responding to you, in a defensive mode,, I can imagine if they go on the assault and start to attack you. If you think of them as tribalist in a defensive mode then how would you qualify them in an assault mode? I used third person so my view is not tainted with bias. I would be happy to give you a bias view if you need it. 7 Likes |

ODENIG: @OAM4JI like this,i want you to look at the posts clearly in Politics it appears as if some tribes are being hunted.Yorubas are my best amongst the tribe in Nigeria, but for the likes of Femi Fani Kayode to come with debate that breeds bad blood is not what our generation need. Most post countering FFK are being deleted but insult and derogatory words used by FFK are being published within a split second.I have earlier mentioned in the post that if Seun refuses to address this issue i will seek to write a world petition against Nairaland.A social media meant for interaction should not take side with any individual that want to make himself god in Nigeria.People promoted Nairaland and same people not tribe might bring it down. What is this bitter truth about Igbos being voiced out from a bitter mind .Please read in between lines on FFK essays.God bless Nairaland And God Bless federal Republic of NIgeria. Odenigbo, you will seek to do a what ..... |

Ngwakwe: Now I understand what the Yorubas meant by South West integration. You have been in Eastern Nigeria for centuries and beside igboland you are not majority in any other ethnic land in your neck of wood. You have been in the Nother part of Nigeria far longer before you started trickling into West and in North you have no majority. Respected ethnicities have been honored with their own exclusive wards and admitted into the Oba Council because of contribution to the culture and people of Lagos. Ibo ought to have been given such an honor, but your continued effrontery and clash with the culture makes the people view you as a foreigner, instead of accepting you as a Lagosian. Your projection of a majority control of Lagos is nothing but another "Alice in Wonderland" fantasy. As long you remain in the "foreigner" category your honor in Lagos will never materialize. Sir Louis Ojukwu should have had an Eyo in his honor. He will never have one because ndigbo refuse to honor and respect the customs of the land. Simple! |

yarodin: Thats the same expression from Alaba years back. At last, after coming to terms with reality they surrendered and obeyed the very laws they promised not to abide by. There is lessons learnt in that. Ladipo will soon realize that Lagos is not under the domain or control of igbo governors and in diaspora, rather than be evicted from the market they will accept to be under Babaloja. "come and give us the Aboki treatment" is nothing short of suicidal wishes. It is not far from President Bush urging Iraqi insurgents to "bring it on". When they did the Americans suffered great casualties everywhere and anywhere in Iraq, including a heavily fortified "green zone". temper your comments. 1 Like |
