noblezone:

For some us in Biafra, it has nothing to do with oil!
Our greatest motivation include but not limited to the following;

1. The continuous slaughtering of our kith and kin at every slightest excuse ( i have not forgotten
Akaluka's head on spike round the streets of kano over a torn page of the Koran". It is only in your place that such things happen.
2. That our children who scored 69% in the unity school exams will be denied admission while your children who scored 1% is admitted.
3. That you ban alcohol and flog people for drinking it only to turn around and collect proceeds from the sell of alcohol from our side.
4. That you say no to state police, but found it necessary to establish islamic police.
5. You behave as if you are born to rule over others and thus "make the country ungovernable" because some other person is in power.
6. That you are more interested in your religion than national development and thus use state funds to build mosques instead of schools
7. You are more interested in Islamic/Arabic education instead of education that will turn your people to be productive and creative.
8. that you eye our lands and dream of dipping your sword in the ocean.
9. That there is no trust between us: you are suspecting us and we are suspecting you.
10. That we dont really have anything common such that we cant sit down to agree on how the nation can move on.
11. That we never agreed to become "one"! Nigeria is a product of mischief makers from some distant lands!

I can go on and on. There may be some people who think they cannot live without oil, but we in Biafra definitely can.

Over 70% of items in your list is what any region in an ethnic democracy should do - self preservation.

Don't tell me Ibos are not doing that already. If not you need to start.
Politics / Re: ‘north Should Decline Participation In National Dialogue’ - Ahmed Daku by DuduNegro: 2:45pm On Nov 06, 2013
noblezone: Former Military Administrator of Kano and Sokoto States, Brigadier-General Ahmed Daku (rtd), has called on the North to decline participation in the proposed national dialogue in the country.

Speaking yesterday during a town hall meeting on the national dialogue organised by a political group, the Katsina Group in Katsina State, Daku said; “The North would definitely be at a disadvantage” should it participate in the dialogue.

“If we participate in the dialogue, we would be doing so from a position of weakness, adding that presently, the North does not have the wherewithal to negotiate its demands” as far as the national dialogue is concerned.

grin grin

Ive said it times without number.....

When it comes to politics, by whatever name you call it, Yoruba is #1 and the godfather of civic consciousness in this country.

May I ask Daku to please explain to those in the dark what he means by "North being in a position of weakness"

grin dan iska.... cheesy

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YORUBA & IBO

Yoruba support social order and democratic rights.

Ibo support social chaos and breakdown of law and order.

It would be nice to see Ibos defend their ethnic rights and collective political interests like they do defending corrupt practices and outright criminality.

Politics / Efcc: We Are Ready To Prosecute Oduah by DuduNegro: 3:49am On Nov 06, 2013
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has expressed its readiness to investigate and prosecute the Minister of Aviation, Ms. Stella Oduah, over the N255 million armoured car scandal.

Towards this end, THISDAY learnt last night that it has started to invite parties involved in the transaction, starting from officials of Coscharis Motors and First Bank of Nigeria Limited (FBN), for interrogation. The commission, through its Head of Media and Publicity, Wilson Uwujaren, however said there were procedures to follow.Uwujaren in a telephone conversation with THISDAY yesterday in Abuja said the commission was on top of the situation and would do everything within the confines of the EFCC Act to justify its mandate.

“There are procedures to follow in doing these things; we are already on top of the situation,” he said.Asked whether the commission would meet the November 8 ultimatum issued to it by human rights lawyer Femi Falana for the prosecution of Oduah and others, Uwujaren said Falana's petition was not an issue, insisting that the commission would carry out its duties.“That is not an issue, I have told you that we are already on top of the situation,” he said.Uwujaren also dismissed the notion that the commission would require the approval of the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Bello Adoke, to investigate Oduah.“I am not aware of any clearance required to probe this case,” he stated.Falana had on Monday petitioned the EFCC, demanding that the aviation minister be prosecuted for corruption.According to him, it was clear that there was no appropriation for the acquisition of the armoured cars in the Appropriation Act, 2013.Falana also stated that the aviation minister exceeded her approval limit as only the Federal Executive Council (FEC) could approve any transaction of N100 million and above.

Meanwhile, THISDAY learnt yesterday that officials of Coscharis Motors which had supplied the armoured cars as well as other vehicles to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) are due for interrogation today. Also, officials of FBN, which provided the lease financing for the vehicles, were also at the office of the commission.A source with Coscharis said their officials were with the EFCC for several hours and subjected to all sorts of questioning. He said their officials were not detained but the commission said they would be re-invited should the need arise. The Chairman of Coscharis, Mr. Cosmas Maduka, he said, however did not report to the EFCC as he had travelled overseas for a business engagement.Similarly, FBN’s Relationship Manager responsible for the aviation sector was also interrogated by the EFCC.Sources within the commission said the anti-graft agency would be inviting Oduah, officials of NCAA and the Nigerian Customs Service in the next few days.

This thread was moved into ethnic section. It addresses national conscience, it is not derogatory, not bigotry, not insulting.

https://www.nairaland.com/1506172/indictment-igbo-nation#19334000

Can I please get a response on the discretion thatguided moving it to ethnic section. If we can no longer discuss national issues in politics section, what else should we discuss....a clitoris bitten off, a housewife in lock up by her governor husband, the beauty of a girl appointed by a governor..

Please give a cogent reason why my thread was relocated or move it back here if your action cannot be legitimately defended.

Thank you.

So were they leased or purchased?

Politics / Re: Igbo Presidency by DuduNegro: 9:53pm On Nov 04, 2013
PointB: Every Yorubas Tom, D1ck, and Harry seems to be an expert these days on how Igbo can become President and what's not. They say we should jettison fear and distrust for other tribes, yet in the lands of those tribes, we account for the second largest population after the indigenes. Where is the so called fear and mistrust coming from? From some bias and deeply bigoted self acclaimed Igbo affairs expert I should think. It is idiotic to presume a separate country is not the best solution for Igbo, when you are neither Igbo nor live in Igboland.

So I say stick those advises to your south-end where the sun never shine, and stop crying more than the bereaved. "There is nothing more powerful than an idea whose time has come."

Yorubas shedding crocodile tears for Igbo Presidency, should rather weep for themselves and their family. Nigeria is a cesspit, as Dede1 would always say, the sooner we bring an end to it, the better for all us.

You have no shame!

Ordinary state....just a political unit - Anambra - in your own land, you have reduced it to a political circus, but you want to rule 36 of them, 31 of which are outside your domain of control. Where is the competency to achieve that?

If you have that level of political know how, then apply it in Anambra and bring in order and civility.

If I see one more topic in Nairaland suggesting Ibo presidency I go set this forum ablaze!

Yeye dey smell!

Desola: Forget Oduah for now, we know she is a thief on a grand scale.

What I am however interested in is the current status if those 300 vehicles. In whose possession are they now and what are they currently being used for? Were these vehicles contracted on a lease or were they outright purchases?

Lagos state is not gonna go Scot free without answering some hard questions. Just because we have caught one thief does not make you angels yourselves.

An inquiry must be launched into the purchase or lease of those vehicles too.

All of una na thieves!

I stand by you on this statement.

We want to know if the proposal was bidded and how was Coscharis selected as winner of the bid.

We want to know, since this was a national festival, and even though the order went out from Lagos State government, if the tab was picked up by Lagos or FG.
