@Dr Kit

The recent past history of the team and the antecedents and position of the team with respect to the Manchester clubs at the moment does not give anyone the confidence to hold out for the Championship.
Holding out for a top 4 finish is not the same as saying there won't be any trophies this season. Injuries permitting and if Arsene gets his tactics right, the FA cup isn't out of reach, I'll pass on the UCL for now and take it stage by stage.
Finishing outside the top 4 however no matter what colour or size of cup we win, I personally would call that failure (Only winning the UCL would be enough to atone for such a failure).

Didn't even get to watch this, totally knackered and slept through the day. 2 points dropped ko? nothing spoil top 4 is still attainable.

Transfer window soon to open, and here is what I want in descending order of importance (if Santa is still hanging around).

1. Yohan Gourcuff (the one who dealt with DK's rabble in the 09/10 season and not the one feeling sorry for himself at Lyon presently and yes I'm not on the Gotze train).
2. Thierry Henry on loan.
3. Short term LB defensive cover.

And yes, Merry Christmas in arrears to all.

True, Le Prof is looking more relaxed these days unlike last season when atimes he looked close to opting for euthanasia.  grin
I think he invested a bit too much emotionally into the set of Cesc Fabregas and really believed that team could win something as I also did last year.

Talking about Cesc whom most here love to hate, there is a special report on Christmas day on the entire Barcelona Brouhaha featuring the one and only Cesc so you can hear from the boi himself (The media loves the Arsenal and Cesc story so much, it still endures and got a Christmas spot 12.30 am with a repeat at 5:30pm on Skysports news  undecided). If yu'll be in church or out, you might wanna re-introduce yourself to your Sky+ manual and its recording features as Cesc obviously still believes there is a need to set the records straight with Arsenal. grin

Sagna as Arsene says is ahead of schedule and should be back by late January, hopefully he won't suffer a setback like Gibbs.

Am I the only one here not really interested in a new LFB in January? I think the CBs have filled in admirably and as long as Santos is back in time for the knockout stages of the UCL, I don't consider it necessary. 3 LBs in a PL squad of 25 doesn't really make much sense IMO. I'd actually look forward to us buying a striker than an LFB, short term loan option asides.

This may sound knee-jerk, but we would have salvaged a point at Etihad if Wenger had removed Ramshit for Benayoun.  Benayoun has all the rights to a starting shirt
The only reason Ramsey is starting ahead of Yossi is just because he is ours and the future. There is no other reason. Hope Jack comes back soon.

Not over analysing this. It is no longer a shame to lose 1 - 0 to city at the Etihad. This team is not likely to go the rest of the season unbeaten so this is as good a time as any to lose.
I can forgive Theo for reverting to old habits today as long as he turns up against Villa next week and learns that Arsenal players do not throw strops when subbed and I hope he gets a good talking to by the older players.
Arshavin however must be on his way out at the end of the season. The time he wastes on the pitch would be better given to young uns like Ox.

To "The One"

In my wanderings on the global social network, I thought I'd seen it all until I encountered you and it was a pleasant surprise cos even deep packet inspection could not have come up with anything that piques my curiosity as you do.

Make no mistake about it, the perfect symmetry of your physical avatar was like nothing else I'd been opportuned to behold, the visage of both your header and trailer were an intense stimuli titilating my bodily sensors to overloading and I assure you, even as I put fingers to keyboard my faculties are in a permanent state of recursion as I stand in awe of your perfect encoding which passes every cyclic redundancy check in existence. I dare say my fingers would really be better suited to mapping out a traceroute of the intricate sections of your voluptous construct while I savour every path this pleasurable undertaking takes me through.

Believe me when I say that I'm a hacker and not a cracker, a white hat in all respects and I hereby make a vow not to cause any fragmentation in your core but to gladly deploy my toolkit to engage in penetration testing of your walled garden thereby flushing out every malicious code in the process. I will also subsequently surround you with an impregnable firewall active at all 7 layers of the OSI model. You and I are meant for each other and I propose a shared secret key that will bind us together for all time preventing any man or woman in the middle attacks.

I anticipate a prompt reply to my ping and you can be sure my eyes will be glued to my monitoring screens with high expectations. Make haste darling and lets get these links saturated with the right vibes.

Non-repudiately yours,
Duduspace.

[Quote]Tottenham and accountants "stonewalled" West Ham's vice-chairman when she tried to find out how her phone records were obtained, a High Court judge has said.

In his judgment Mr Justice Coulson said letters sent to Karren Brady were "long on words but short on information".

In November accountancy firm PKF, engaged by Tottenham, agreed to provide information about her phone records.

PKF had copies of her records while bidding for use of the Olympic Stadium after the 2012 Games was taking place.

@jjcd

Theo is steadily proving the critics wrong o, he is totally worthy of his starting shirt. Shows what a manager's trust can do to a player, and that Arsene usually knows what he is doing when he sticks with a particular player. In my opinion though, Arsene still has to find space and time to play OX in the PL, it would be counter productive to hold that boy back.

proudly9ja:

I don't believe Arsenal is a one man team, Ive said as much before.
I just dont think we should be excited because 4 different players scored today because RVP contributed one way or another to three of those goals.

Ild like to see us go on a winning run of at least 2 games without RVP (even if its against poorer opposition) before getting excited.

Okay o, no wahala. I was beginning to think Szczesny had to score before we are able to discard the media foisted one man team tag.  tongue grin

So you do believe Arsenal is a one man team?  undecided
It's the system we play that puts certain players in such influential positions. We are not excessively dependent on RVP no matter what anyone says.
Give Chamakh as long a rope as Torres has been given and I'm sure he'll get back to the level he was at when he first arrived.
