Nope, it was a complete no show, a belated hit and run attempt at the clubs also went awry, infact by the time game time came I already knew this just wasn't a weekend to remember.

I actually think its a combination of all those things, to be honest some of them go together like Pass accuracy and vision,  and Mikel Arteta is creative as he does keep the Everton MF ticking mostly. He may not have as good a radar as the likes of Xavi and Cesc and probably their mobility and ability to go past people but he also brings an element of physicality due to his physique while being a threat from set piece situations.
Frank Lampard however IMO is not a creative player but Stevie G is slightly.

I told y'all a while back that Rafa wasn't the problem, Liverpool has a systemic problem. Yorubas say If you don't accept Kadara (destiny), then you'll end up accepting kodoro (absolute failure). The difference between Arsenal and Liverpool is management and the inability of most football clubs to stick to a long term policy which might not necessarily get trophies in the short term but keep the club afloat.

I was referring to this, Arsene has confirmed he is out against Chelsea and barring a miracle of some sorts or some mind games which Arsene doesn't usually do, he is out against Chelsea.

When last did you check the Arsenal site?  some of us are on a 24 hr watch when game time approaches.

Only thing I'll say is, we won't have an embarrasing scoreline like last season as our backline is better and its not likely anyone is able to put a basket load of goals past this chelsea team so I expect a tight score line, but I don't expect us to have so much of the ball without end result like happened at SB last season (those kinds of games either make you cry or make you temporarily hate Arsenal) cos now we've got Chamakh.

I would have voted Fabianski last season, but Almunia edges it for consistency. He merits his number 1 position at present but I would prefer Szczesny at some stage but not against Chelsea.

Ask yourself - is that the aim of THIS club? To be in the 'top whatever'? Or to win? There is a distinct lack of ambition beyond 'financially stable' and making it into the CL and that is unacceptable.
We might as well be excited that we are in the top 20 in England since there are hundreds of clubs in lower leagues.

And what is the aim of all those clubs who don't achieve what we do? to be at the bottom of the table? I don't accept the view that there is a lack of ambition, it is a lack of a "Win at all costs" mentality, we've opted for a "Win the right way" mentality. Each individual chooses what he gets excited about but at the end of the day yu've got to accept reality. I am not satisfied with the way things are, I also want to win trophies but I also don't want to be in the state Liverpool and Portsmouth are, get my drift?

As I've already said, sort out the commercial revenues and that will be highly dependent on spending money to achieve success. Instead of talking about youth - go out there and close the £30m gap with Utd income wise.

Besides, our wage level is so high because of an unduly bloated squad paying mediocre players huge wages. Given the quality of our players in certain positions, I am amazed our wage bill is close to Utd's, WITHOUT the resulting payback in trophies.

There is a whole team in the club to do that, and they've pointed out the limitations they are working with, have you ever listened to Tom Fox the commercial director? True our wage bill is about 13 - 15m smaller than Manure (using manure's last year results though) but we come no where near them in transfer fees and they have an ageing squad compared to ours.

Good thing we've 'made profit', but when the profit does nothing to improve the football side of things, it becomes meaningless. If making £61m doesn't improve your club's squad, why would £100m make an improvement?

I am fixated on the long term future of the club, not profits. The aim of the club is to survive first and then win trophies second. It is no use winning trophies if you'll be in the Championship in the next 5 years, ask Liverfluke supporters.

Open your eyes Debo, Manure lost the PL crown last season, what new purchases have they got? Bebe, Smalling and Hernandez are those the calibre of players Manure bought in the past?
I'm not hoping that things will get worse for other clubs, they are already bad because their system is unsustainable, you can't always continue spending money you don't have, ask Portsmouth, Liverpool, The Glazers and Abramovic.

61m profits notwithstanding, we are not out of the woods yet if our football business is only making 7m profit a year, the 38m we made from player trading this year and average of 25m every year since moving to the emirates is borne out of this same youth orientation that you are condemning. Bottomline is, we are only living within our means. It is with all credit to Arsene's managerial ability that we've stayed competitive. Our position gets stronger with each passing day while those we compete with get weaker.
If football is a distraction for a club that is consistently top 4 in England and top 8 in europe, then I wonder what our standing will be when we make it our core business. 

I must thank you for that link though, its really very enlightening and gave me further insight into how things stand at the club. I am proud to be a fan of this club, bloody geniuses the leadership (Arsene and the board) of this club is and the future will reveal this.
