bestview:Osha is truely a great city viewing from Asaba end of the bridge or headbridge osha. Perfect aerial pic and landscape. I live in Osha, but earnestly, the issue here is a glare case of abandonment and lack of proper maintainance in Osha and Nigeria at large. Worthy of note is the fact that Fegge(Hausa name, and I think founded by the Hausa, going by most of the streets there bearing Hausa names too)area, Niger street, Ose okwodu and ogbe Ijo are the oldest settlements and biz in Osha. Most of the buildings found there span 100yrs, more or there about. But try facing the camera towards 3/3, Trans-Nkisi, Omagba, the in-land town, Fed/housing GRA all in Onisha, to see beautiful scenery and modern structures. Even Nkpor and Awada Obosi hill-side view from Oba(hope to share the pics someday with peepz here), is a relica of any notorious city you admire all around the world. Lets not be biased in our comments here, especially those that have not travelled out of their domicile, talk more of having a cool tour of Osha to appreciate the individualistic efforts of fellow Nigerians working hard to transform a long abandoned city by the State and Federal gov. Don't also forget that this was a city ravaged by the civil war. So, there is no yardstick for comparism with Abuja and Lagos, that we all know, have recieved a fair attention by the federal Gov. People should use their heads! |

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Van Der Sar: 'for The Sake Of Football, Barcelona Must Defeat Chelsea' by duke4ever: 8:40am On Apr 23, 2012 |
Edwin van der Sar has hit out at Chelsea for its defensive approach in the first leg of their Champions League semifinal against Barcelona. The Premier League representatives recorded a 1-0 victory over the Catalans at Stamford Bridge, and Van der Sar has stated that Barca should beat Chelsea in the return 'for the sake of football'. "For the sake of the game and for football in general, I hope Barcelona win at Camp Nou," Van der Sar was quoted as saying by the Daily Mail. "I love teams who attack. Chelsea did nothing but defend with nine players and kept lots of players in the middle of the park. "But this tie could have been over by now. I expected Chelsea to lose by a big figure. And it could still have been 5-1 to Barca in the end. Chelsea had just one shot at goal – and they scored.www.goal.com/en-ca/news/4199/uefa-champions-league/2012/04/22/3054414/van-der-sar-for-the-sake-of-football-barcelona-must-defeat |

ndu_chucks:As much as I may want to subscribe to the possibility of the point you are working hard to establish, namely that the grenade could have been manufactured in Nnewi(to name, a name) or nearby towns, I want you to also accept the posssibility of it been manufactured in border states surrounding Anambra state as well. Think Kogi; think C.River or Rivers etc. Bwt, has there been any sample grenade from Anambra or other states before in order to juxtapose which came from where? |

What language could that be if the locals could not understand? Is that language spoken in Nigeria at all? It is glaring that this crime in the East is imported. |
Politics / Attack On Police in Anambra, Rubbers Spoke Strange Language by duke4ever: 2:49pm On Apr 07, 2012 |
From IJEOMA ONUORAH, Nnewi and DOM EKPUNOBI, Onitsha Friday April 06, 2012 Gunmen suspected to be armed robbers yesterday stormed Ukpor Police Station in Nnewi South Council Area of Anambra State, killing three mobile policemen and setting the station ablaze. The hoodlums who came in a Toyota Hilux Pick-up van, and a white Hummer bus attacked the station at about 2:15a.m, shooting sporadically before hitting three mobile police officers. The dead officers, were posted to the station on Wednesday to beef up security in the area. Daily Sun, gathered the slain cops were deployed from Mopol Base 54 Onitsha and that the robbers spoke in a strange language, calling some officers to come out and confront them, before razing part of the station with locally made grenades. They also carted away an undisclosed number of AK47rifles. The source insisted that some of the officers at the station ran in all directions before luck ran out on the three, who could not escape during the exchange of fire. Their bodies were said to have been deposited at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital morgue, Nnewi. The DPO of the station, Mr. Jacob Muri, who declined comments, was said to have been contacted around 2:00a.m about the arrival of the robbers, but his efforts to mobilize more personnel from Nnewi Area Command and other neigbouring communities proved abortive. Anambra State Police Public Relations officer, Mr. Emeka Chukwuemeka, who was touring the affected areas recently, with the new state Police Commissioner, Bala Nasarawa, turned down questions by reporters, but promised to brief journalists. The Ukpor attack was the second of such on police stations in Anambra State in two days. The first was at Amichi Police Station in Nnewi South Local Government Area. The incident brought to six, the number of policemen killed with one injured within two days. sunnewsonline.com/webpages/news/national/2012/apr/06/national-06-04-2011-003.html |
