Atleast we know the origin and players in those things you listed. But do you know the origin of the birthday celebration you participate in? Who were the players? Were they servants of God? Did Jesus celebrate or attended any birthday celebration, even though it has already become a common celebration before and when he(Jesus) walked the earth?

Just 2 birthday celebrations are recorded in the bible and were done by non worshipers of God. They are Pharoe and Herod. Read Genesis 40:20-22 and Matthew 14:6-8. Note that the the chief Baker was hanged on that fateful day. Also note that John the Baptist was beheaded on the day of Pharoe's birthday, in his(Pharoe) order, as a recompense for his daughter who danced to the gallery on the said day.
We should also bear in mind that no servant of God was in attendance in these occasions and no true christian, Jesus's apostles and disciples, faithful servants of God in the time past celebrated their birthdays. If it were that important, Jesus would have celebrated his or attended one like he did for the wedding in canaan. Please shun paganism in your best interest no matter how innocent and harmless it may deceptively appear. Btw, Ecclesiastes 7:1, "the day of death [is better] than the day of one's birth.
