SS Ourang Medan(The Ghost Ship) According to Wikipedia The SS Ourang Medan was a ghost ship which, according to various sources, became a shipwreck in Indonesian waters after its entire crew had died under suspicious circumstances. Skepticism exists about the truthfulness of the story, suggesting that the ship may have never actually existed, but has become something of a legend, But there have been several accounts from reports of an SOS message in 1947 that mentioned the captain, along with the rest of the crew, was dead. What’s worse, even the telegrapher died during the transmission of the message. Read more here - http://duketunde..com/2015/08/saturday-digest-worlds-greatest_8.html#more |

A wooden fishing boat packed with at least 600 migrants on board overturned in the Mediterranean Sea Wednesday as rescuers were approaching. Italian coast guard officials said the vessel had issued a distress call, but the overcrowded boat tilted over to one side just as rescue ships were approaching, throwing many passengers into the water. Several rescue ships, including Italian and Irish naval vessels, rushed to the site to perform rescues. At least 100 people had been plucked from the waters some 22 nautical miles north of Zuwara, but several hundred were feared dead. - See more at: http://duketunde..co.uk/2015/08/mediterranean-fishing-boat-carrying-600.html |

Archaeologists have uncovered human remains of four of the earliest leaders of the English colony that became America under the floor of a Jamestown church. The four leaders have been buried for more than 400 years near the altar of what was America's first Protestant church in Jamestown, Virginia. Researchers were stunned to find one of the, identified as Capt. Gabriel Archer, a vociferous critic and rival of Captain John Smith, was buried with Catholic artefacts, leading to claims he was part of a secret Catholic cell or a Spanish spy. Japanese police have arrested Mark Karpeles, head of the collapsed MtGox Bitcoin exchange, over the disappearance of about $390m worth of the virtual currency. The global virtual currency community was shaken by the closure of MtGox, which froze withdrawals in February 2014 because of what the firm said was a bug in the software underpinning Bitcoin that allowed hackers to pilfer them. Karpeles is suspected of having accessed the exchange's computer system to falsify data on its outstanding balance, Kyodo News and public broadcaster NHK said on Saturday. Police did not immediately confirm Karpeles' arrest but local television footage showed authorities taking him into custody. - See more at: http://duketunde..com/2015/08/japan-arrests-mtgox-bitcoin-head-over.html?m=0 |
