French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo is trending in Russia for the bad over the publication of cartoons depicting the crashed Russian passenger jet over Sinai, Egypt last week.


The Kremlin has denounced French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo over a set of cartoons about the crash of a Russian passenger plane in Egypt.

On Sunday, VK, one of Russia's largest social media networks, said the magazine's cartoons had been the most discussed topic by its more than 100 million active users over the weekend.


"Insane cynicism and a mockery of the memory of the victims of this terrible tragedy," wrote one Twitter user, Anna Isayeva.

The French magazine published two cartoons after Metrojet Flight 9268 crashed in the Sinai Peninsula on October 31, killing all 224 people on board.

The first drawing showed a passenger's skull, with the caption: "The dangers of Russian low cost" flights.

The second showed the plane's debris falling on a bearded fighter, with the legend: "The Russian air force is intensifying its air strikes."

OMG! A heartless woman from Philadelphia who kept kept six disabled adults and four children chained up in her basement like animals while she collected their disability check which summed up to $212,000 over 10 years was sentenced to life in prison on Thursday.

Linda Weston, 55, apologized during the hearing, saying: 'I believe in God and God knows what happened.'
U.S. District Judge Cynthia Rufe replied that: 'There are a lot of people in this courtroom who know what happened too,' according to Philly.com.

Two of the women Weston held captive later died

She pleaded guilty to all 196 counts against her that also include kidnapping, racketeering conspiracy and murder in aid of racketeering, hate crimes, sex trafficking and fraud.


Several victims described their horrific experiences before Thursday's sentencing.
Weston has been in custody since October 2011, when a landlord found four bedraggled adults locked in a squalid boiler room of a home in the Tacony section of northeast Philadelphia and called police.

The Deadliest accident in aviation History: Just like every other day, everything seems fine on Sunday, March 27, 1977 at Los Rodeos Airport (now Tenerife North Airport) on the Spanish island of Tenerife, one of the Canary Island until a bomb explosion at Gran Canaria Airport and a threat of a second bomb prompted authorities to divert flights to Los Rodeos Airport. Among the diverted flights were KLM Flight 4805 and Pan Am Flight 1736 - the two aircraft involved in the ground collision with a total fatalities of 583 and total survivors 61 making it the deadliest accident in aviation industry.

For both planes, Tenerife was an unscheduled stop. Their destination was Gran Canaria International Airport (also known as Las Palmas Airport or Gando Airport), serving Las Palmas on the nearby island of Gran Canaria. Both are in the Canary Islands, an autonomous community of Spain located in the Atlantic Ocean off the southwest coast of Morocco.

Pan Am Flight 1736 had originated at Los Angeles International Airport, with an intermediate stop at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport. The aircraft was a Boeing 747-121, registration N736PA, named Clipper Victor. Of the 380 passengers (mostly of retirement age, but including two children), 14 had boarded in New York, where the crew was also changed. The new crew consisted of Captain Victor Grubbs, first officer Robert Bragg, and flight engineer George Warns; there were 13 other crew members. This aircraft had operated the inaugural 747 commercial flight on January 22, 1970.

KLM Flight 4805, a charter flight for Holland International Travel Group, had arrived from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, the Netherlands. A teenager from Australia has made a ground breaking mathematical discovery that academics say will change the future of mathematics..The 17 year-old developed a maths theory which could be key to solving some of the greatest unknown mysteries about the universe.

OMG! Not again, Barely four days after the ill-fated Russian passenger jet crashed over Sinai, Egypt killing all on board another plane has crashed shortly after taking off from an airport in South Sudan, killing more than 40 people, officials said. Three passengers reportedly survived.

The tail fin of the Russian-built plane and other parts were seen scattered along the banks of the White Nile river near the airport in Juba, the capital, on Wednesday.

Witnesses told Reuters news agency that they counted at least 40 bodies at the crash site.

The director of Juba International airport said "three people survived the crash", while local news outlets reported that only two people survived, one of them a child.

A police officer near the scene, who did not give his name, also said there were two survivors, including a child, but could not say how many people were on board.

A grandfather who ate ants to survive while lost for six days without water in the Australian outback says he thought he thought he was going to die out in the wilderness.


Reg Foggerdy, 62, was on a hunting trip with his brother last month in the Great Victoria Desert in Western Australia when he set off in pursuit of a camel he'd shot.

"I followed this camel into the bush. I'd gone at least 30k, I didn't know where I was," he told CNN affiliate Seven Network, recounting his errant 19-mile wander and the extraordinary tale of survival that followed.


Foggerdy found himself alone with only the shorts, T-shirt, flip-flops and hat he was wearing. He had a valuable source of food right in front of him -- the dead camel he'd chased down -- but no means with which to eat it.

"I didn't have a knife, and I didn't have matches for a fire," he said. "So I couldn't go and cut a steak off the animal because I had no way to cook it and had no way to cut it."

Washington: John Edgar Browning met his first “real vampire” in a Gothic apparel store.

A doctoral candidate at Louisiana State University at the time, Browning had already been on the hunt for several months. He was talking to the store owner of Wicked Orleans, a Gothic-style clothing and leather shop in New Orleans’s French Quarter, when a middle-aged woman and two teenage boys walked through the door.

The store owner stopped mid-sentence. This woman, he motioned, was one of the people Browning was looking for.

Nervously, Browning approached her and started talking to her about his ethnographic study of “real vampires.”


To be clear, these aren’t people who possess the supernatural powers that we associate with the likes of Count Dracula, but rather individuals who claim to have a medical condition that requires them to drink blood (human or animal) in order to sustain themselves.

Members of this community have chosen to identify themselves as “vampires” in defiance of the negative images that the label evokes. Did she know anyone who fit that description?

The woman smiled, and Browning had his answer — her open lips revealed teeth that had been filed to a point, like fangs.

“I call it my ‘first time,’” Browning said of the inaugural encounter. Though the woman never did give him a call as promised, Browning soon found himself in the company of vampires again at a nightclub.

Then, several weeks following that, he met an “elder vampire” who invited him to attend meetings of the New Orleans Vampire Association (NOVA).

A 44-year-old Brazilian drug trafficker serving 36 years behind bars was caught by prison guards trying to escape from prison wearing a mask, a wig and a dress to disguise himself as an old woman.

Clodoaldo Antonio Felipe's plan was however foiled by the eagle eye guards at Coronel Odenir Guimatataes prison, when they noticed an elderly woman leaving the jail who they did not remember letting in.


The guards also noticed the old lady was far taller than the average woman and were curious as to how she got into the jail without any identification.

More than 100 were reportedly killed as powerful earthquake hits northeast Afghanistan on Monday triggering landslides, building collapse, stampedes and panic from Central Asia to India.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey who reported the earthquake with a magnitude of 7.5 and was centered in the Hindu Kush mountains, 158 miles north-northeast of Kabul the capital of Afghanistan.


The Pakistani military said 123 people were killed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and nearly 1,000 injured. Landslides blocked the high-altitude Karakoram Highway, which connects China and Pakistan, in several places and military teams were busy trying to open the road, said Maj. Gen. Asim Bajwa, the Pakistani army spokesman.

OMG! This is a sad one, A truck and a bus transporting retirees on a day trip collided and caught fire Friday in wine country in southwest France, killing 42 people and badly injuring four others, authorities said. It was the nation's deadliest road accident in more than 30 years.

An image released by BFM television showed the carcass of the bus - nothing but a collapsing, charred frame engulfed by smoke. Firefighters fanned out along the narrow country road, between a wooded area and an upward slope near the village of Puisseguin, about 50 kilometers (30 miles) east of Bordeaux

Eight people, including the driver, escaped from the bus after the driver opened the door, but others were trapped as the blaze consumed the vehicles, Puisseguin Mayor Xavier Sublett said on i-Tele television. Hundreds of devotees of the Chinese Samkong shrine and the Chinese Ban Tha Shrine at their annual vegetarian festival put up horrifying display as they walk through Phuket in a procession that worshipped abstinence from meat.

The Thai men were seen forcing sharp spikes, huge knives and barrels of guns through their cheeks as they celebrated the annual festival.

The festival, where mediums also attempt to call on spirits, sees followers give up various products during the ninth lunar month of the Chinese calendar.

The Shugborough Inscription is a sequence of letters - O U O S V A V V, between the letters D M - carved on the 18th-century Shepherd's Monument in the grounds of Shugborough Hall in Staffordshire, England, below a mirror image of Nicolas Poussin's painting, the Shepherds of Arcadia. It has never been satisfactorily explained, and has been called one of the world's top uncracked ciphertexts.
The inscription became widely known after being mentioned in the 1982 book The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail by Michael Baigent, Richard Leigh, and Henry Lincoln.

Today the Zodiac letter Killer joins the long-list of our "World's greatest unsolved mysteries".


In the late 1960s a cold-blooded serial killer operated in northern California. The serial killer murdered victims in Benicia, Vallejo, Lake Berryess and San Francisco between December 1968 and October 1969. Four men and three women fell victim to this unknown killer, who became known as the "Zodiac" in a letter dated August 7, 1969 that the killer sent to the local press. The serial killer will later send another three letters and all four included cryptograms ( a type of puzzle 'encrypted in text'), of all the four letters only one has been definitely solved.

Notorious 39-year-old, Colombian cartel Victor Navaro, better known as 'Megateo' has been killed in a military raid in the Catatumbo region near the border with Venezuela.

With a $5m US bounty on his head, he had faced 45 different arrest warrants and was especially hunted for a 2006 ambush in which his men killed 17 soldiers and intelligence agents who had set out from Bogotá seeking to capture him.

President Juan Manuel Santos on Friday congratulated his armed forces for killing the cocaine warlord in the lawless Catatumbo region.
