I have sometime in February this year made a post of a lady I met and who refused taking my calls one certain night and which I did a post seeking for advise here.

Let me now go straight to the recent happening in the relationship with this lady whom I met in the church and who also live in the same estate with me in fact her house is not that far from mine though she is living with her aunt.

It happened that on Wednesday being the 21st of April, 2021, when I arrived home from work, it is my usual practice to call her and when I called her that very day, she took her call and told me that she is very hungry and her reason was that she didn't like what they cooked in her house. I have to invite her over to my house and she ate very well and even took a bottle of soft drink before leaving for her house that night which I also gave her a naira note in case she wants to buy anything the following day.

The following day being the 22nd of April, as usual when I came back from work around 6:30pm, I put two calls across to her which were made in different intervals, but lol and behold this lady I thought she was my girl friend didn't pick up the calls, I remained calmed and went to bed that night.

However, during the course of the night, around 11:30pm that night my phone rang and I took the phone to know who was calling, it was this my so called girl friend that was calling, I had to ignore the call.

The following day very early in the morning she called again but I was preparing for work and I didn't want anything that will ignite sad mood on me, I have to ignored her calls even when I was at the office.

Later in the evening when I was about leaving the office she called again and I picked up the call with a mild attention, she then asked why I refused taking her calls since, I replied her by saying that she started it, this lady has to immediately end the call and up until now she has refused to take my calls or call back.

Please I really want to know who is at fault here because she is now making it look as if I am at fault but as it is I have made up my mind to call it a quit if she can not step down her pride and apologize. I will appreciate you guys opinions on this.

Bros in your heart you already know the answer The truth is most of all these big men they can be chatting with you normally but once you make known your intention for a job na there you go see their true colours. The Senate on Wednesday confirmed the appointment of Dr. Halilu Shaba as the Director-General of the National Space Research and Development Agency.

The red chamber gave the approval following the consideration of the report of the Senate Committee on Science and Technology at plenary in Abuja, chaired by Senator Uche Ekwunife.

The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), had on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, asked the Senate to confirm Shaba as DG NASRDA.

In the letter, Buhari urged the lawmakers to give his request an accelerated consideration.

Shaba had been in acting capacity as DG of the agency following the expiration of the two-term tenure of Professor Seidu Mohammed in June 2020.

The Agency had earlier, on July 2, 2019, announced the appointment of Mr Jonathan Angulu as an acting Director-General to facilitate a seamless transition process between the outgone DG and an incoming one.

Jonathan handed over to Shaba two days earlier to continue in an acting capacity until the appointment of a substantive DG for the agency by the Federal Government.

Before his appointment as an acting Director-General of NASRDA, Shaba served in various leadership capacities since joining the agency in 2009.

He had served as the Director of Strategic Space Applications, in which capacity he led the department’s policy initiations and execution within the national space programmes framework.

Shaba previously served as a Deputy Director at the National Emergency Management Agency between 2006 and 2009, before joining NASRDA.

The National Taskforce on the Prohibition of Illegal Importation of Arms, Ammunition, Light Weapons, Chemical Weapons and Pipeline Vandalism has disbanded the Director General Special Squad throughout the country.

The National Executive Council of the Association charged members and security agencies to arrest and prosecute any person claiming to operate under such illegal body or group.

The NEC did so during the election of its new Director-General, Dr Baba Muhammed, and Deputy Director General, late DG, Chief Okereke’s wife, Lora Okereke, on Saturday, according to a statement made available to our correspondent on Tuesday by spokesman of the organisation, Mr Paul Efiong.

The council conducted the election following the demise of the pioneer DG in order to avoid vacuum, Efiong said.

According to the statement, the council unanimously agreed to appoint the widow of late DG as the Deputy Director-General while the eldest son, Obinna Okereke, would be given a position at the national level.

Steel Trusses vs Wood?

In coming days, we’d be preparing to roof our Atrium House. My client want something sturdy, environmental friendly, sustainable and strong enough to withstand elements.

We are torn between using steel or roof. What would you do and why?

Guess who’s on site today? Nixon my no. 1 steel structure fabricator. For durability and longevity, i would use steel beams, Just curious if one is using steel instead of wood does that need to taken into consideration during the drawing/designing of the house? Or it does not matter?

A maintenance free flat roof is very possible.

Kindly ensure the builder deliver the plastering stage to avoid double expenses.

This means that the builder must handle:

- window installations
- door frames installations
- plastering of the walls (internal/externals)
- internal conduits

A lot of issues raised by 3strikes were caused by the fact that the builder was no longer on the project. Most subtrades/artisans capitalizes on this to rip off unsuspecting home owners especially those unavailable to directly supervise their projects.

Here’s a very good example. I will never have placed planks on the damaged roof during plastering because I fully understand the consequence.
Another contractor plastering the house won’t damn the consequence because he can easily blame it on the person who did the roofing.

Also, during construction stage, there are lots of hidden and I completed works that only the builder who started the work from the scratch can identify (eg plumbings). If he’s allowed to walk away before you do your internal plumbings, you might run into problems and end up spending twice on the same job.

There are many more.

A builder can be fired if he messes up or he lacks experience.
However, I’ll always recommend that homeowners/contractors should find a way to manage construction complaints/challenges amicably as failure to do so do both parties more good than harm.

Before handing over, always ensure that an experienced consultant double check the job and ensure that everything is satisfactorily delivered.

Which will you chose between 1, 2 and 3 as a minimalist looking for style without compromising safety and blowing budget? and why would one over the other?

I plan my builds ahead of schedule so things do happen on site like we are fixing a jigsaw puzzle. So it always seem like we are only talking and not working. We work smart.

I intend to start working on the sample of chosen design before my ogas next visit to site.

The plan is to use 16” - 20” mild steel square rods to do any of the designs. Security is paramount to my client.

I would personally go for pic 1 for its simplicity and functionality
