Kindly note that account opening for any products particularly for VGIF is not tedious and requirements are not different from the usual kyc required in any financial institution as directed by SEC or CBN. It takes 48hrs or less to open a VGIF account.

For the avoidance of doubt kyc documents required to open account are: Passport photo, ID card, Utility bill and your signature.
Please also note that the following documents can be use in place of utility bill: your NIN slip, your signed bank account statement, your tenancy agreement

Finally, kindly contact me if you are having any issues with your account opening.

SDF currently is 4.5% since September 2020 but became effective from January 1st for VGIF.
So the guaranteed rate for VGIF now is 4.5%.

Why is the account opening for Investment One so tedious with regards to a Utility that has my residential address? With BVN,NIN etc there are more technical ways to confirm someones address rather than insisting on utility receipts that hardly ever carry the correct residential address just like PHCN payment which are online. This is very discouraging.

The Ceo of MBA trading and investment Ltd Maxwell has addressed investors in a 15min video where he spoke on the recent challenges the investment company is current facing .

The ceo attributed the the delay of payments to the frustration recieved from regulators and banks since early 2019 . He stated that the sanctions and set backs from regulators has caused the company a lot and is still affecting the company till date . He however assured investors that steps are being taken to ensure the company complies with regulator laws

The ceo Maxwell spoke about the pandemic that hit the continent . He said the company was affected negatively but they prioritized investors and ensured payments were made as at when due .

Thirdly , he spoke about loosing accounts to 6 banks inferring that he couldn’t pay proceeds from those banks due to the fact that their accounts were closed .

He also made it clear to investors that going forward he is going to liquidate all capital and pay back investors pending when the company sorts itself out with regulators .

He adjourned the public not to use legal representatives in escalating the current situation citing previous examples and notably stating that it would halt all operations and most likely investors would not get their monies back if they follow that path .
