Politics › Re: EASY WAYS FOR BUHARI TO ERADICATE BIAFRA by Duru1(m): 8:28pm On May 30, 2015
dickrider:
Now that we have a new president at the helms of affairs, it is glad to know that security and our territorial integrity are part of his major plans. Boko haram, Mend , Opc are still easy to contend with because as brutal as they may seem, they can all be dealt with using the carrot and stick approach. The only group threatning our unity is biafra and as a matter of fact their seccesion request is treasonable. President Buhari must rate the threat level of Biafra to the highest. We do not want any form of civil war anymore and anything that threatens our unity must be forbidden. here are ways i suggest the new president should deal with biafran rebels;

He should declare Biafra radio as illegal and ban it henceforth.

He should arrest the owner of biafra radio and make him face treasonable charges for spreading hate campaigns against other tribes in nigeria.

He should establish a special Anti-biafra task force fully armed to the teeth.

He should resensitize the southeast through national orientation agency and make them learn to put the past behind them and embrace national unity.

He should offer financial rewards for informations leading to the arrest of biafran chanters and pro seccesionists.

He must make them realize that we all have a role to play for the development of nigeria.

God bless Nigeria.

United we stand, Divided we fall.

Say no to Biafra cool
Your moronic ass has fallen already. No country stands to progress when there is no unity. Unless you are a lying swine, there is no iota of unity among Nigerians.

Politics › Re: The Politics Of Ika And Ndigbo : Unearthing Facts by Duru1(m): 8:15pm On May 30, 2015
rexbuton:
So historically, the Igbos have no claim whatsover to Ika..
there are striking similarities between Agbor words and bini's. for instance, ihogbe, ihaekpen quarters are extremely similar to ihogbe and ehaekpen quarters in present day benin.. The argument that the Ika language is similar to the Igbos is partially due to trade, migrations and cultural mixing considering the proximity of the areas . In fact, i believe that language is not a sufficient and fool-proof index to ascertain ethnic origin or cultural homogeneity/heterogeneity

The history of Agbor like other communities is based on oral tradition. Popular oral account of the community therefore traces its origin to Ogunagbon, the believed founder of Agbor who left Benin with his followers and first settled in Ominijie, located in present Agbor Nta (Emeka Esogbue, 2008). This makes Agbor Nta Agbor’s oldest settlement. One of his chiefs was to later settle in an area known as Agbon. The word “Agbon” means “Earth” or “Land”. Agbor remains the largest of Ika communities with close geographical location to Benin City. Its constant wars with Benin are well-known. This may have also accounted for its consideration as the “most politically and militarily powerful of all Ika clans as recorded by Chukwu Ebuka and Iwueze Awele Success. The wars which lasted until the 19th century may have also swelled the military prowess of the community and helped to make it a force to reckon with within the Ika nation (Simpson, 1936). There is therefore no doubt that within the period under study, Agbor remained the headache of the Benin Kingdom until the 18th century.

The Legendary Benin Historian, Joseph Egharevba dismissively presented Agbor as a Benin vassal whose Chief (Obi/Dein) was in constant rebellion against the Benin Kingdom to the extent that the Kingdom had to take steps to bring the situation under control. Egherevba gave account of how Oba Orhogbua authorized one of his generals, Agbon to restore peace at all cost. Agbon then captured Idigi territory which he renamed Agbon later corrupted to “Agbor”. The people of Agbor as a result of this development were compelled to maintain the hard sought loyalty to Benin but this was only short-lived as they again revolted this time during the reign of Oba Ovoramwen. As we were again told, Agbor was to be severely punished but for the 1897 conquest of Benin by the British forces and consequent capture of Oba Ovoramwen.
Why would any sane person fight to capture what is his or her? Nigerians and their silly illogicalities are mind burgling.
Politics › Re: How Buhari's ADC Was Selected by Duru1(m): 7:58pm On May 30, 2015
APC and Nigeria are for a change indeed. Most officers of Nigerian armed forces from the northern region, including M. Buhari, are products of corruption. How could Nigerians not see the above debacle before casting their vote for corruption incarnate? Anyways majority of ill-educated Nigerians have always deduced that embezzlement of funds is the only corruption in the book.

The ambition shall be realistic when Ndiigbo have a country where the cutoff marks for admissions into institutions of higher learning is equal to every prospective candidate. There shall be no institutionalized discrimination. Everything about Nigeria is fake or engendered by nepotistic endeavor.
Politics › Re: Buhari Gives his First Command As President (sahara Reporters) by Duru1(m): 7:08pm On May 29, 2015
mctifey:
President Muhammadu Buhari has issued one
of his first directives during his Inauguration
speech today, after being sworn in as
President. He announced that the Nigerian
Military Command will be moving from Abuja
to Maiduguri in order to fight Boko Haram.
Maiduguri, the State capital of Borno, has
been the epicenter of the battle against Boko
Haram. It is also where about 200 Chibok
schoolgirls were abducted and still have not
been returned. Maiduguri has also been
subjected to unrelenting attacks and suicide
bombings for several years.
President Buhari stated during his speech
that, “The command centre will be relocated
to Maiduguri and remain until Boko Haram is
completely subdued. But we can not claim to
have defeated Boko Haram without rescuing
the Chibok girls and all other innocent
persons held hostage by insurgents.”
President Buhari, by issuing this policy
change in his inaugural address, is sending
the message that restoring security from
Boko Haram will be a major priority for his
administration. This move is believed to
improve the coordination of the military in
carrying out counter-attacks against Boko
Haram terrorists.
In his inaugural speech, President Buhari
described the Boko Haram situation by
saying, “through official bungling, negligence,
complacency or collusion Boko Haram
became a terrifying force taking tens of
thousands of lives and capturing several
towns and villages covering swathes of
Nigerian sovereign territory.”
This jackass would have moved the so-called Nigerian Military Command to Sambasi forest. Nigeria will remain Nigeria for a short time. This manner of idiocy cannot be allowed to continue.

Some of you Biafrans need to tone down the level at which you pour invectives on dissenting views. For a people asking for independence and "freedom", you come across as extremely intolerant and vindictive. Smh.

That was how some days ago one of you outrightly called for the murdear/assanination of Rochas Okorocha the other day on this forum simply coz he disagrees with Kanu's methods -- the thread had to be closed and the OP was censured.

At this rate some of you will soon begin hunting down dissenters among yourselves. Such extremist tendencies are already being exhibited by some of you on here. I think the Mods needs to do a beutter job of regulating your excesses
You are the person who needs to tone the level at which you define peoples’ approach or agitation for home land. Only people who are anti-progress will insinuate that any groups of people seeking freedom or independence are extremely intolerant and vindictive. If this moronic assessment is true, then entire so-called Nigerians were extremely intolerant and vindictive when they sought independence from Britain. Nigeria is a compromise which could be abrogated period.

Sometimes people come to the conclusion that they might be better if they have their way and make their own decisions, that being in a diverse society is what's holding them back from being great and living their destinies but i think its childish and does not always bring the desired result. If ibos are resilient people then making it inside nigeria shoul'nt be a problem.
The ignorance you have displayed on this subject matter is so ridiculous that it made fool looks better than you. The French are not making decisions for Germans in Germany. The Japanese are not making decision for Koreans in Korea. Fulani, Hausa or Yoruba should not be making decision for Ndiigbo in the accident called Nigeria. By the same token, I do not want Ndiigbo to make decisions for Fulani, Hausa, Kanuri and Yoruba. Most countries of the world are erected based on ethnic homogeneity or a dominant ethnic culture. Ndiigbo have every pedigree to agitate for a home land that could be called Republic of Igbo Land or something else. Is it too much to ask to be different? Ndiigbo want the Republic of Igbo Land that should be a land of unimaginable innovations.

There are five players that should have been included in this team. They are Faith Ikidi, Uchechi Sunday, Chinwendu Ihezuo, Osarenamo Igbinovia and Mariam Ibrahim. The coaches could have tweaked the team to include these players. The team is down for serious hustle at the midfield which shall be occupied by players lacking in size and the game’s intellect. The players such as Ayila, Nku and Esther may have ton of skills but lacked the size and concentration to scare players away from the middle of the field.

Seriously, the squad contained a few surprises. I never expected Loveth Ayila to make the squad; and Gloria Ofoegbu was dropped!

Anyway, I believe Nkwocha and Okobi will be used in the midfield. The inclusion of Umotong, Esther, and Courtmey Dike was done to satisfy folks on this thread grin
I did not expect Loveth Ayila to make the team too. She is the weak spot on this team, Also she lacks the fundamentals of the game. I had included Chinwendu Ihezuo instead. Anyway, the coaches knew the players and their current forms more than I do. By the way Gloria Ofoegbu was not included in the team that arrived Canada. I guess Mariam Ibrahim was the defender dropped from the team.

Now that GEJ reign is in it's final days, I think it's time Ndiigbo take a stock of our political association with our non Igbo Eastern neighbors, since the advent of Nigeria as a colonial entity and now as an "independent" entity.

For the second time in our history, we rallied around an Eastern non Igbo, the first being Eyo ita, and GEJ being the second.

Often times, Ndiigbo have no problem rallying behind our non Igbo neighbors, but are our neighbors often comfortable rallying around us, when we need their help?
Can anyone say without any doubt that if tomorrow Ndiigbo presents a cause, that our Eastern non Igbo neighbors will rally behind us the way we had rallied behind their cause recently?

It would appear that the only time our unity with our non Igbo Eastern neighbors work is when we allow them stay at the driving seat or when our alliance directly benefits them and not us. The moment we decide to stay at the driving seat, cries of Igbo marginalization rents the air.

This gives me a cause for concern. As we plan our future and seek to strengthen our alliance with our non Igbo neighbors, we must self reflect on this, sweeping every thing under the rug and hoping they disappear is what turned Nigeria into its current mess, we must not make same mistakes as Nigeria.
Bros I guess Ndiigbo do not indulge in anything in Nigeria in order to snag love from the insignificant expendables but for what Ndiigbo are all about. Nigeria is going to be history and good one at it will be. It is known fact today that Yoruba, Hausa, Fulani, Kanuri and other unmentioned ethnicities in Nigeria baring Ndiigbo ceded a part of former eastern region to Cameroon.

Bros I beg to indulge minimally. On one page of this thread, you have two posts about Ugo Njoku for either “falling down the pecking order” or “may have lost her place at the right back”. One tends to ask if Ugo Njoku was the only player substituted or did not start at her usual position. The Canada’s coach almost substituted entire Canadian team. However I apologize if my choice of words was out of order.

I hope our players do not introduce “I” in the team. Everybody on the team should not become a goal puncher instead the players should concentrate on winning the matches.

I guess so,i think Njoku may have lost her place at the right back judging from the substitutions, but as they play other test matches things may become clearer.

Our permutations werent too far off,it shows that we have got some really good football pundits here too.. wink
Why so pathetically infatuated with Ugochi Njoku? Osinachi Ohale is a natural right back who has the knack to stay back while Njoku is also a natural right back who tends to overlap. In addition, Chukwunonye is a right back with quickness needed at the center back. I think the coaches are sketching models of defenses and personalities needed for a certain model for a particular team. In fact, Mariam Ibrahim is a natural center back along with Ebi while the likes of Ohale and Chukwunonye are the alternates.
