What a con job. The crude oil rig was fabricated in Lagos thereby creating jobs for the loudmouths in southwestern Nigeria. Yet it will be used to extract crude oil in Niger Delta. No wonder certain jackasses in Nigeria will readily develop convulsion at the slight mention of disintegration of the cesspit called Nigeria. |

Orkpekyandega: Guest Blog: The 'Killer Instinct' in Asisat Oshoala. Whenever the media celebrate Nigerian players, it gets into their head, they start bluffing when perfectly created by the media, girls will roll their eyes and flick their braids while the guys pierce their ears and paint their hair, sag their trousers, forgetting that sagging originally starts from prison. No doubt a lot has been written about Asisat Lamina Oshoala AKA SuperZee or Seedorf whom I met physically for the first time this year at the National stadium in Abuja having admired her prowess from TV and Youtube. As a Liverpool Football Club ardent Fan, I want to say this 20 year old striker is skillful, lucky and a record maker, being the first African player to ever play in the English women league. She is a goal net killer with her skill, talents and team spirit which I hope she can sustain and not get carried away by fame. Her success story is a great one for women football in Africa, she has on several occasions professed her love and commitment to football and it apparently worked for her. Nightmare, tormentor and destroyer of defenders and goalkeepers. Oshoala in her unique way knows how to always find the back of the net and she always smash it. She has built herself into a brand in the mode of a ferocious, furious and prolific striker within a short period of time. A made in Nigeria, conquering Europe. A young achiever, savvy, strong, black and beautiful were the words amongst others to describe the African finest Female Footballer, she however was nominated for the inaugural BBC Women Footballer of the year. Born and Bred in Lagos, and started playing football on the streets of Lagos, the highly talented 'tomboy' was discovered at an early age for her uniqueness, and was recently nominated for the prestigious BBC Womens footballer of the year, 2014 was indeed her year. Having won the African Women's Footballer of the Year in 2014, African Women's Youth Player of the Year in 2014 and African Women's Championship, Golden ball and Golden boot at the FIFA U-20 Women's World in 2014, she will be the synosure of all eyes as she plans to rule the world. Focus, concentration is all she needs I think she should take a clue from Cynthia Uwak who got distracted and fell out of her career, Perpetual Nkwocha is someone she should look up to as a model in the Falcons. She needs to think of having kids and becoming a wife some day if she so wish, as someone who respect everyones' sexual orientation, I think Asisat may as well overcome lesbianism challenges which is the bane of women's football, however, the last thing she need is any form of distraction while planning for bigger years ahead. Asisat said she dropped out of school for football, of course it can never be too late to enroll in some courses in UK, if there is no much time, why not grab an online course which is more flexible, she should make the money now, spend and also save for the raining days because nothing last forever. The part of the bolded in the above post is totally irresponsible and a shameful falsehood only capable of coming from deluded Nigerian. |

Nigeria would have been world champions in female football before now if such accomplishment depended on empty promises and silly postulations. I had to be very happy if Nigerian Falcons should emerge out of the group stage however I cannot knowingly bet my cent on such outcome. |

EBCO: I am sorry to disappoint you guys, I am not in for this Biafra and Lower Niger thing, neither am I in for this cessation nonsense!
I will not be party to an institutionalized creation of smaller minorities within the minority.
Before we leap, don't forget: The Igbos used the instrumentality of government power to almost extinguish the other tribes and ethnic groups on this side of the Niger, during the reign of regional system of government; All schools were in Igbo land, even though the white man came through the sea; All commercial cities were in Igbo land even though the produces were from Etche, Ikwerre, Ogoni, Orashi, and ijaw lands; the rail system was conjured to start or terminate in the heart of Igbo land, even though they had no raw materials and sea ports; They forced the teaching of Igbo cultures and use of Igbo language in schools and churches and systematically almost exterminated the traces of other groups around this area; and when it was war time, they made the Niger Delta the battlefield.
The Ikwerre man loves to hate and cheat the Etche man even though we are brothers, the Ijaws think themselves alone as Niger Deltans, the Ogoni man continues to be used and dumped. So why should I willfully subject myself to yet another generation of slavery or be joined in a marriage bliss, or sex without mutual orgasm? What is in this breakaway for an Etchepian? Tell me why i should change my mind.
What I believe in and will continue to agitate for, is the kind of political goal congruence in the North and working at building a viable economic structure in the entire southern Nigeria. Politically, the entire south must realize that there is blessing in diversity. We must mobilise our diversity into a common political goal and support it with a strong economic base from the resources God has blessed us with- From Badagry to Bonny to Bakassi to Awka, we must form a political block with which we battle the North who have declared us infidels. It is an intellectual war, not a physical combat.
Biafra say, Biafra no say, Lower Niger say, upper Niger no say , all na the same thing! It is the same Ikwerre to Etche treatment!
I wash my hands off this treachery!
Eze Basil Chinwendu Oluo. Writing from #1 Amadioha avenue, Etche. The above post is a product of a deluded mind tutored to display quantum idiocy. There is no doubt the writer lacked the basics of home training. The capital accrued by eastern region mainly came from cool and palm produce. I know the lands of Etche, Ikwerre, Ogoni and Ijo, there were no commercial products home to these lands that helped to enlarge the coffers of eastern region yet Igwe Ocha Mbara Ama was meant to rival Lagos based on hints from eastern region developmental plans. If you are afraid to become a minority in Biafra, you are entitled to remain a minority in Nigeria but do not offer silly advice to Ndiigbo who are determined to form a republic for Ndiigbo. Ndiigbo shall be homogeneously at home and majority in Republic of Igbo Land which will eliminate the major drawback found in Nigeria thus tribalism. There was no school in eastern region of Nigeria that produced more prominent minority personalities than Government College, Umuahia. Ndiigbo did not introduced quota system where Igbo kids were given preference over kids from other ethnicities of the region. One wonders what formed the idiotic opinion that Igbo skewed the knowledge to Igbo people. I attended school in eastern region where the use of vernacular was even prohibited. If the writer of the above post wishes to die in Nigeria, he could accomplish such a wish however he should not whip up blatant falsehood against Nidiigbo because he entered into covenant with his creator to die in Nigeria. Ndiigbo have been longing to ditch Nigeria and welcome Republic of Igbo Land. |

One of the major reasons while this country is still together is that no single ethnic group has ABSOLUTE dominance over the affairs of the country now going with the igbos will spell doom for us because there will be just wan dominant tribe with absolute dominance over our reasources, niger deltans will be oppresed by the igbo economically, politically and what have you, what is happening to the igalas in anambra will be heaven compared to what would be the lot of niger deltans if we join biafra, from fry pan to fire then we begin our struggle all over, a war that cannot be won. It is high time we set our priorities right. Are we happy we the present nigeria, should the entire system be restructured, should we push for good governance and hold our leaders accountable,or should we go all out for a sovereign republic of niger delta. These are questions we ought to ask ourselves and see which wan is most achievable and then go all out for it not attaching ourselfes to Biafra.we have bigger head aches than that, what we need is a unique solution perculiar to our plight as niger deltans. If you were Okon will you tell the team to just give up without a fight? The Nigerian Falcons handlers have not released the team squad for Canada 2015 World Cup and it will amount to waste of the time to postulate. However, I watched the matches Nigeria played during the U-20 tournament in Canada and Ayinde was not impressive. I had rather have Osaranoma Igbinovia in her place. I would also employ the services of Chinwendu Ihezuo at the midfield. |

CFCfan: Ikidi may be slower, but I disagree that the Ebere is a weak link at left-back. She's pretty solid. I see the sense in playing Ikidi at centre-back. Her height (and that of Onome) should keep the 5'11" Abby Wambach in check in aerial duels. And Wambach isn't exactly the quickest centre forward in the women's game. Do you mean Ikidi listed at 5'-7" as having height? In fact, Ohale or Maryam Ibrahim, if she makes the team, should pair with Ebi at the center back. Ebi is not even athletic and may have issues checking USAWNT attackers. I may want Ikidi at the back line but center back. |

CFCfan: In the US game, you're spot on with 3 central midfielders. That would restrict the US to wings. Any crosses from there should be comfortably dealt with by both Onome and Ohale/Ikidi. If the aforementioned lineup is billed against USAWNT, Nigeria will regret coming to Canada. Ayinde is weak and small. I do not know if Ofoegbu is even invited. However Nigerian Falcons have a big disconnect at the left-back position. Ikidi should be played in any back field except center-back against a team like the USAWNT. |

A communiqué of the sixth meeting of the NFF Executive Committee held at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja and made available to our correspondent said the Flying Eagles currently training in Germany for the FIFA U-20 World Cup kicking-off in New Zealand on May 30 and the Super Falcons going for the Women’s World Cup in Canada next month, would be the first to sign the conduct code. “In the interest of the nation and as a means of regulating the conduct of players and officials representing the country at any point in time, Committee endorsed a proposal for all players and officials of the National Teams to sign a Code of Conduct, starting with the contingent to the FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand and the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada,” the communiqué signed by the Chairman, NFF Media and Publicity Committee, Hon. Suleiman Yahaya-Kwande, said. The meeting also resolved that elections into the boards of the various Leagues (Nigeria National League, Nigeria Women League and the Nigeria Nation-Wide League) should be conducted in November 2015, with the process to commence in August this year. Also, going by the communiqué, the NFF will soon enact a regulation for the protection of players of the age-grade national teams and the establishment of NFF Youth Players Development Fund. Finally, the NFF Board commended the untiring efforts of its President, Pinnick, in promoting Nigeria football at home and abroad, most recently in having very useful meetings with FIFA President, Sepp Blatter and Chairman of The English FA, Mr. Greg Dyke. The requirement to sign code of conduct by players representing their country is moronic idea that bordered on culture of impunity. The Algarve Cup, an annual global invitational tournament for national women’s teams, is hosted by Portugal and serves as the melting point for World Cup bound teams to test their might ahead of any FIFA Women’s World Cup tournament. In an interview with Saturday SunSports, Ikidi who plays for Pitea IF of Sweden, lamented that again this year, Super Falcons as African Champions were missing in the tournament that was won by their Canada 2015 World Cup opponents, USA. According to Ikidi, the inability of Nigeria to participate in the Algarve Cup has consistently on a yearly basis robbed her of the opportunity of carting home the best defender award in the Swedish League. Excited that Falcons qualified for the 11th All Africa Games in Congo, the former QBIK FC of Sweden defence marshal spoke about her dreams of helping Nigeria at the forthcoming Canada 2015 FIFA World Cup. I really do not know all about the Algarve Cup that is hosted by Portugal but I do believe it is based on invitation by host country. Since the inception of the competition, no African country has been invited to the tournament yet FIFA kept lip service of no discrimination in its organization. Every world Cup bound team was invited except any of the teams from Africa. |
