You are absolutely wrong.

The UMTS family is generally referred to as 3G, which comprises of 3G, 3.5G, 3.75G and 3.9G. Depending on the OEM implentation, the OEM may choose to implement in such a way that it always displays 3G, whether it's on 3.5, 3.75 or 3.9G. Though ISPs can choose to override such implemtations. Nigerian ISPs don't override it.

For instance, my BB Z30 displays H+ on EE and other networks in the UK, but back here, it only displays H. I mean without the +. This, you can confirm with anyone with BB 10 in Nigeria.

The infinix Hot 2 actually supports HSPA+. You can confirm this by going into the engineering mode screen, then check the 'Radio information', or by going to Settings > About phone > Status > Sim status. There, you will see a screen like this one if you are connected to a HSPA+ network.

I tried it out once, but emails, BBM and a few apps, like Crackberry weren't working. I remember vividly that some apps that require authentication refuse to work properly, that is, they wouldn't sign in.

Thanks for the info. So, I accessed the engineering mode and came across a few mentions of hspa+. That led me to believe that it does have hspa+ capability. Though it's very possible that it was implemented in such a way that it would never display hspa+ on the service bar. Just like how T-Mobile implement their devices to display 4G when on hspa+ network. I may be wrong though.

It has no Wi-Fi direct. Wi-Fi direct is a feature similar to Infrared or Bluetooth on mobile devices to aid sharing of files between them.

In the case of WiFi direct, it uses Wi-Fi as means of connection which is very fast.

In its absence, you have other apps which uses same connection path Wi-Fi to achieve this.

Actually, it supports Wi-Fi direct. Here is a screenshot of it connected to my Z30.

You're right, looking through the configurations from the Engineering Mode, you could see HSPDA active and fluctuates between that and EDGE BUT it would not H+ instead 3g is shown I don't want to adduce this to Network issue though because I had an Innjoo Fire which I used before this and it does display H+ and of course I had the IMEI tweaked too so its not a network thing. Good thing, it has not impacted on the browsing speed. In a few days to come, I would experiment at tweaking the 3G to display H+

I received mine yesterday and true, all I have been getting is 3G. Meanwhile, I have excellent H+ over here on all the gsm networks. So i'm wondering if this means that it has no hspa+ capability. If so, that would be terrible.

By the way, have you been able to root yours? I'd like to root mine, but don't know if there is a known method for rooting it, specifically.

You talked about engineering mode; how does one access that on the device?
