bigtt76: For those having issues with their OTA ...I just discovered that due to the rooting (I used Kingroot 4.5.0), several files were changed and as such each time you try installing the upgrade, it fails even after several Factory Resets. It happened to me so I know what I'm saying (other people might be lucky though and get theirs to work after unrooting).
Now what I did was simply logon to the Infinix Mobility Site (http://infinixmobility.com/support/) and download the Android One stock OS there as well as the flashtools. I noticed that while the Android One version on our phones was dated August 04 2015, that on their site was dated August 24 2015 which may signal to the fact that this is the most recent release.
After going through the instructions etc, I successfully installed the new version downloaded and bingo, the System OTA Update displayed BUT with a smaller size 9.3MB which also probably points to the fact that the difference is as a result of the newer version I installed and it went on smoothly without fail.
You may all wish to give it a try. I also saw a version which says Lollipop 5.1 which might even be a more stable version of Lollipop compared to the Android One (I choose to stick with Android One though but will still give it a try when bored).
Happy Sunday to y'all So, I decided to try out the lollipop 5.1 version. It's an infinix customized stock rom, which its Ui is totally different from the Android one variant, and has all the features of infinix stock rom, like the 'HotKnot'. One thing I really liked about it is the 3G reception (signal bars strength) - it doesn't drop at all, especially in an area where there's strong reception, like where I live. That is the only issue I've had with the Android One variant rom. That confirmed my worry that the drop in 3G signal strength is not a hardware issue but a software issue. Hopefully, Google fixes that on the Marshmallow update. Now, even though the lollipop 5.1 variant is only 5.1, unlike the Android One variant of the rom which is 5.1.1, I still prefer the lollipop 5.1 variant, because of the 3G reception issues. Though I'll miss the pure stock Ui which i prefer, I'm forced to use the non-Android One variant of rom. One thing most people don't know is, as long as you are unable to attain at least 95% of network reception, there is no way you can achieve the available network speed at that particular point in time. By the way, is there an avenue to report bugs? because I'd like to report the reception issue. |

lagbaja: You have not presented any serious counter argument. Your curses means nothing.
To start with, liquidity crisis in Nigerian banks are self inflicted because in reality, they never really borrow as much as they collect from government to the private sector, they actually lend the funds back to the government through bonds and treasury bills. What they have to do to simply sell off their bonds to free up funds. It's only their bogus profitability that will be impacted.
According to the Debt Management Office of the FG, as at December 2014, the Federal government's domestic debt stood at 7.9 trillion Naira. Comprising Of 60 government bond and 35% treasury bills. Majority of this bills were bought by Nigerian banks at the detriment of the private sector. If the federal government decides to take 2.6 trillion from the banks through implementation of the TSA, they will only be taking back a fraction over 7.9trillion naira of the bonds and treasury bills they (the banks) invested in.
Nigerians stands to benefit more from the Single treasury account.
1. Government bonds are sold at over 10% ( borrowing at 10% interest rate) , a ridiculous amount. The banks use government's money to buy the bonds. Now, the reverse will be the case. Banks will now borrow from government.
2. Banks will have no alternative high yield, low risk investment such as bonds and treasury bills to invest in, they will have no choice than to borrow to the private sector. Real banking will commence.
3. Interest rates will go down since government will now borrow less and at low interest rates. Banks will be forced to source funds internationally at low interest rates and borrow to the private sector equally at low interest rates.
4. The impact of the JP Morgan delisting of our bonds will not be felt so much as government will now access free interest funds from the TSA.
5. There will be transparency in all MDAs accounts. Corruption will be better curbed.
6. Interests paid on domestic debts by the FG will reduce and free up more funds for infrastructure development. Awesome. No one could have said it better |

elampiro: That was a discussion on proposed budget. The passed and approved budget is what I posted Mine has the figure which was eventually passed by Senate and approved by Jonathan.
Some of the things you argue now, I have already addressed on this thread but you didn't read the flow. In December 2014 NOI reduced Capex to 676 billion in 2015 proposed budget from 1.4 trillion in 2014 budget. In February as oil price fell too low to less than $60 she again halfed the Capex to 387 billion.
However at the end 500 billion was passed and approved on $53/barrel oil price benchmark. elampiro: The 2015 Capex budget was meant to be financed from loans. But things got too bad that the total loan negotiated and secured for 2015 is being used to finance salary payment. Half of the loan secured was already used to fiance salary payment to the tune of trillions of naira between January and April alone. You asked if we cannot borrow. The 2015 budget is already being run on deficit from borrowing. Then what are we borrowing against, or you think the creditors are Father Christmas? As for the projects, Onolememen said in March, that only 33 of 210 ongoing projects can be continued in 2015. Again that was when oil price was still above $60/barrel. He also said what was allocated to his ministry of works to operate expenses was just $11 billion instead of $100 billion in 2014. Read the below and pay attention to the highlighted. ............
Nigeria borrows to pay salaries with cash crunch worsening May 06, 2015 A cash shortage caused by low oil prices has forced Nigeria to borrow heavily through the early part of 2015, with the government struggling to pay public workers, officials said Wednesday. “We have serious challenges. Things have been tough since the beginning of the year and they are likely to remain so till the end of the year,” said Finance Minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala. Nigeria, Africa’s top economy and largest oil producer, has been hammered by the 50 percent fall in oil prices, with crude sales accounting for more than 70 percent of government revenue. “As it stands today, most states of the federation have not been able to pay salaries and even the federal government has not paid (April) salary and that is very worrisome,” said Imo state Governor Rochas Okorocha. Okonjo-Iweala said the federal government had a projected borrowing allowance for 2015 of 882 billion naira ($4.4 billion/4 billion euros). But 473 billion naira had already been used up to meet recurrent expenditures, including public worker salaries. “We have front-loaded the borrowing programme to manage the cash crunch in the economy,” the minister told reporters. While Okonjo-Iweala said the severity of Nigeria’s cash crunch requires daily management, the problem will almost certainly be off her desk in less than a month. President-elect Muhammadu Buhari will be sworn in on May 29 and is not expected to retain any of the key ministers appointed by outgoing president Goodluck Jonathan. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/05/nigeria-borrows-to-pay-salaries-with-cash-crunch-worsening/ You are wasting your invaluable time trying to educate him. Trust me, i know this for a fact. |
