If the letter is in defense of Dasuki, it is a very weak and watery defense. He has not said anything new and carefully sidestepped the issue at hand: diversion of funds for weapons meant to secure our country.

So the 'great' thing he can do is to threaten innocent people with seizure of their ancestral lands because someone committed an offence in the area? I asked, why are we not hearing d same threat against those that carry out illegal mining operations in the North?
Important laws like d Whistle Blower Protection Bill have not been passed to assure people of some protection if they successfully report oil bunkering agents so what do u expect them to do?

Is this the proper way to fight crime? When the FG wants to do something 'tangible' it will do so without threatening and impoverishing the people it is sworn to protect. In fact, when it provides infrastructure and invests in agriculture with sound people-oriented policies to pilot d affairs of the nation then such criminal activities will be easily checked cos people will be gainfully engaged/employed.

It is rather people like u that make Nigeria more rotten because u endorse draconian and ill-thought out policies that backfire because they impoverish d masses for d benefit of a few.

What else do I want Buhari to do? I want him to think beyond military action and forceful acquisition. I want him to look beyond sectional interests and work intelligently. If that is beyond him then he should hire young qualified people, form a think-tank then marshal out and implement workable policies that promote d interests and prosperity of the common man.
Was the article not referring to the location of the illegal refinery and not the entire community?

malvisguy212:
the book of enoch is 'A' fraud, lies by God enemy to confront the truth in the bible.

We read in chapter 40 of the Book of
Enoch...
9 seen and whose words I have
heard and written down?’ And he
said to me: ‘This first is Michael,
the merciful and long-suffering:
and the second, who is set over
all the diseases and all the
wounds of the children of men, is
Raphael: and the third, who is
set over all the powers, is
Gabriel: and the fourth, WHO IS
SET OVER THE REPENTANCE UNTO
HOPE OF THOSE WHO INHERIT
ETERNALl LIFE, IS NAME PHANUEL.’
10 And these are the four angels
of the Lord of Spirits and the four
voices I heard in those days.

The Bible never mentions an angel named Phanuel, let alone an angel who is set over the repentance of those who inherit eternal life. What blasphemy! That statement in itself contradicts everything the Word of God teaches. We read in 1st Timothy 2:5 that Jesus Christ is the ONLY Mediator between God and men, not some angel named Phanuel... " For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. " Repentance is strictly between a man and Jesus Christ
alone. Only Jesus died for our sins, and shed His blood to pay for them(1st Peter 1:18-19); therefore, we must be diligent to guard and defend against LIARS and imposters who would lead people to believe otherwise. 1st John 2:22 clearly
indicts all Christ-deniers as LIARS, guilty before God.
I just want to point out that the "son of man" is not solely used in the Bible to refer to Jesus. There are many places in the old testament that mentions "the son of man" e.g Ezekiel 2:1, 33:2
Travel › Re: What Will You Do if you find your international passport like this? (photo) by dustydee: 2:27pm On Dec 26, 2015
I think this happened to a Chinese.

Modified: It was a hoax.

It’s official. That story about a Chinese man being stuck in Seoul, South Korea because his son drew all over his passport is bogus.
The Wall Street Journal reported June 5 that the Chinese Embassy in Seoul confirmed there were no cases of that happening in South Korea.
“An official at the Chinese Embassy in Seoul told Korea Real Time the photo was a hoax and the South Korean immigration service hadn’t prevented anyone traveling because of child’s play on official travel documents,” the Journal reported.
Likewise, “state-level news agency” China News Service reported that “The Consular Section of the Chinese Embassy in South Korea said no request for help has been received. If something like that happened, the embassy could issue a new passport.”
The original story claimed that a Chinese man was unable to return home after his son defaced his passport. As evidence, a photo of his marked up passport was posted alongside stories.

Signs the Story was Bogus
Brian Ashcraft, writing for Gawker-owned gaming news website Kotaku, analyzed the drawings that the child allegedly made on the passport and pointed out that most “four-year-olds don’t draw that well.”
“I have a difficult time believing that a four-year old’s motor skills would be up to snuff, unless the child was advanced for his or her age.”
Kotaku’s Ashcraft listed a few more “alarm bells.”
why there wasn’t any “smearing” on the passport given that “Chinese passports, like most passports, have a coat of gloss over the page with the photo, name, and passport number.”
“the ‘ink’ remains constant in thickness,” which is more likely with a computer program than a child drawing with a real pen.
“the passport’s key points of identification have been either doodled over or crossed out”
Other red flags?
Mediaite pointed to the lack of details in the story: “You know a story is done well when it doesn’t even have the subject’s full name included, or the time frame of the events, and its source is essentially a Chinese Facebook post by a random dude.”

When crude oil was being sold at $110 a barrel, pump price in Nigeria was about N87. Now crude is about $38. do the math.
It doesn't work that way sir. And when the price was reduced to N87 it was political and not economic. While the price of crude accounts for a substantial cost of refined products, there are other factors that are more or less fixed such as operating costs.

if our government is a sane one, then petrol shouldn't even sell above 30 naira. because crude oil is at its lowest price in the international presently. So naturally, a fall in the global oil price should also mean a fall in petrol for consumption. but our useless government with their corrupt ways won't adjust the price to this effect.

about last year, the U.S govt slashed the price of gas by a third the normal price because gas got cheaper. Our useless government should learn.
Can you please give a breakdown of how you arrived at N30?

ObiOmaMu:
The New York Police Department has announced the promotion of Deputy Inspector Olufunmilola F. Obe to the rank of Inspector.

When her promotion was announced at a ceremony at Police headquarters in Manhattan on Friday, December 18, 2015, there was a tumultuous roar of approval from the audience of many Nigerians and other African leaders in the New York region, who had been invited to witness the ceremony, including Imam Souleymane Konate.

Inspector Obe began her career with the New York City Police Department in June, 1992 as a Police
Cadet assigned to the 24 Precinct. In February 1994, she was sworn in as a New York City police officer and assigned to the 17 Precinct. She has also served at the 19 and 50 Precincts, as well as the Property Clerk Division. Inspector was promoted to Sergeant in December 2000, Lieutenant in July 2005, Captain in September 2008, and Deputy Inspector in June 2012.

Currently the Commanding Officer at the 28 Precinct, Inspector Obe has also commanded Police Service Area B. She also served as Executive Officer of the 19, 25 and 34 Precincts.
Inspector Obe holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from The City College of New York and a Master of Public Administration from Marist College. Inspector Obe is 2014 graduate of the Police Management Institute at Columbia University.

Inspector Obe has been married to her husband, Peter, for 19 years, and they have three children, Ayodele, Tola and Timi.

Politics › Re: What The NNPC And The FG Would Never Tell You About The Kaduna Refinery by dustydee: 12:44pm On Dec 23, 2015
NavierStokes:
No brother, if you followed my posts you will understand my position, India and Nigeria can not be compared in this regards, we already have the oil downhere and could refine or build our refineries close to the source. What is the rationale behind
1) travelling abroad to find heavy oil with the abundance of easily refined light oil.
On a scale of preference our basic challenge is on petroleum products, while leave a crude that guarantees us higher and finer yields for one that gives more asphalt. Petroleum Petrol is our primary objective, and not other by products.
2) trucking the imported oil all the way to Kaduna and trucking back any refined products.
That is not our only requirement. Mind you the refinery also produces petrol and other fuel types. The inability of the Kaduna refinery to functon properly is partly responsible for the collapse of the textile industry in Northern Nigeria (scarcity of LPFO). Ashphalt is only one of the by products of crude. There's a host of other industrial products that can be obtained from crude which are better produced here than imported. And the crude is pumped to the refinery and not trucked. I have worked in a refinery in Nigeria, studied refinery operations and petroleum economics (incidentally the issue of Kaduna refinery was discussed in one of our classes and the conclusion was that it was the right decision to site it there).
That crude is light doesn't mean it suits all your industrial needs otherwise Nigeria will not be struggling to sell her crude in the international market.
Politics › Re: What The NNPC And The FG Would Never Tell You About The Kaduna Refinery by dustydee: 11:38am On Dec 23, 2015
NavierStokes:
Brother it is all out there now that the KRPC refinery functions on feedstock that is imported from faraway Latin America. Even the explanation of higher volumes I believe can not be justified by the cost of transporting light crude all the way to Latin America or wherever and transporting the heavier crude back here, with subsequent trucking from the coasts to Kaduna. Doesn't make sense in anyway bro. It doesn't make sense .
Ever wondered why we import heavy crude? Why did you say it doesn't make sense? An economic analysis will do. India as far from Nigeria as it is imports crude oil from Nigeria, why? Why don't they just buy refined products instead of buying crude and refining?
You have to realise that different crude types have different characteristics and the fractions you get from them differs.
Basically you are suggesting that we are better off importing petrochemical products than producing them here.

First of all that article you put up there wasn't written by Iheanacho of Enercon (hmmm plagiarism, how low can one go ), but by the recently sacked GED Refining of NNPC, Ian Greg Udoh. What were you expecting him to say, the manager of Mercedes Benz GMBH should be telling you that Mercedes cars are poorly designed?
You need to google Dr Emmanuel Egbogah, and answer for yourself if he is the type of person that is should be regarded as clueless in his own subject area. That man is the epitome of excellence and achievement in Nigeria's oil and gas industry and it will be very unfair for anyone to brand him as ignorant on an issue in his domain especially when the writer of the article you mentioned is an interested party in this matter, who has a lot to answer on the frauds within the Oil swap and OPA deals on which the kaduna refinery thrives.
I actually got the link from Ian Udoh's Facebook page but the article on the guardian website has Iheanacho's name to it.
Politics › Re: What The NNPC And The FG Would Never Tell You About The Kaduna Refinery by dustydee: 9:49am On Dec 23, 2015
NavierStokes:
That Dr Egbogah according to you, is not "experienced" in refining doesn't mean he would know nothing about the feedstock, know nothing about the operations of the refinery. These are very basic assertions he put out there being challenged. In the case of your analogy, "Dr Egbogah can not be referred to as a Tractor Manager here, a regulator or critique would be more appropriate ". At the end your choice is as you prefer.
I am saying he is not more qualified than one who operated and maintained the refinery for several years. One that knows the inner workings of the refinery. The write-up was Dr Egbogah's opinion, and he's entitled to it. But that doesn't make it right.

Dr Egogah is respected in the oil and gas industry and so is Ian Udoh. But I will go with Ian because he is more experienced, in my opinion, than Dr Egbogah in refinery technology and operations. A look at is CV will confirm that he is not an expert in refining. Kaduna refinery was setup for a purpose and it served that purpose until our lack of maintenance culture affected its operation.
As with your analogy, I'd rather believe the mercedes benz manager than a Tractor company manager who tells me that the mercedes is not properly designed.
