Politics › Re: Difference Between Street Light Abroad And Nigeria(lagos) by dustydee: 9:32pm On Jan 30, 2016 |
americanigga: street lighting with electric bulb abroad- uk, russia, france etc started in the 19th century, 1878. And they where using yellow, dull bulb, made from sodium, like the one Ambode is installing allover Lagos. Because the facilities are maintained properly in abroad they last long, hence you can still see them hear and there. Not that they are still installing those kind of street light anymore
so why is ambode installing a technology of 19theen century in Lagos in this 21st century.
This is mind boggling I live in the UK and the street lights outside my house is amber. I know the British like to save money and upgrade to the latest technology so any explanation why they haven't upgraded even when the bulbs die they keep replacing them with the same ones? |

Horlawoomey: OP you are from Kwara state, I know cos that's what they pay.
though government job is pensionable and come with no stress, and I believe earning 34k in a north central state is like earning 65k in places like Lagos, Abuja or Port harcout, I won't advice you to leave your current job as more opportunities are in places like Lagos where you can earn 5 folds of the government work coupled with your experience.
State government work in places like Kwara often make people lazy and contribute second to nothing in term of personal development.
My humble opinion though, I am still to get any of these Job.
I have HND in Civil Engineering with 2 years working experience, if you have a job for me, please call 0 8135134212 Please what do you mean by the highlighted part? OP, I would have asked you to consider if it was a FG job but for a state government job? I don't think it is worth taking considering you have a better paying job. Also with the current situation where states are finding it difficult to pay salaries and some are looking at trimming their work force. |

irondome: Dem plenti oo 1. As stated above, as a foreigner, you don't mess with their ladies; yet they treat their ladies like shit. In fact, things get a bit weirder in India, the bride's family pay dowry to the groom. So, God help the ladies from poor families. 2. They both love to chew some redish stuff, gworo for the Hausa (I guess) 3. They both love to spit anywhere, everyone. 4. They both issues with consonant and vowel sounds. For the hausas, it's p for f, etc. For Indians, it's V for W, etc. 5. When an Indian shakes his/her in response to a question, he most likely means YES as against the convectional NO in other places.
I no get much time jare. Wow, so much generalisation 1. I have lived with hausa people and they don't attack you for "toasting" their girls. It's people that are sceptical about approaching some because of their conservatism. If you follow someone else's wife, then that's a different issue (generally everywhere in Nigeria). 2. That again is not peculiar to hausa people. Igbo's eat kolanut too. My mother eats gworo and she doesn't have stained teeth. Bad oral hygene is not peculiar to any tribe. My Indian colleagues do not chew any reddish stuff neither have I seen my hausa colleagues eat kolanut. 3. Again you are generalising. Agreed some spit anywhere, but don't generalise 4. So does every tribe in Nigeria. Your accent is not as important as your ability to speak and understand the language. Everybody has an accent, some are easier to understand than others. If in doubt, go to Glasgow. 5. What has this got to do with hausa people? As much as I know, they have a similar communication culture to every part of Nigeria. Wouldn't it be nice if we can learn about our own people and stop relying on what we see in movies? |

Nigerians are hard to please. One moment they are shouting "fulfil your promise" the next moment they shout "it is not necessary, it is a waste of resources". Granted, the infrastructure needs to be provided but what if the two programs are being implemented in parallel? |

irondome: Those blokes don't joke with their girls with foreigners ooo; ironically, they also have the disposition to abuse their ladies. Honestly, I draw a lot of parallels between Indians and Hausas, play with their ladies at your own peril. I am curious to learn some of those parallels you've drawn. Please kindly explain as I can't think of any. |
Travel › Re: Nigeria Have Suffered (my Experience On A Visit To India). by dustydee: 9:28am On Jan 19, 2016 |
scachy: Lolz, OP u never see chomchin, they said Muslim men are jealous of their women but I think that expression is very wrong cos Indians can be jealous to the extreme wen it comes to their women (though not every part of Indians are lik that) and yet, they like women pass every other people on this planet earth. U will be amazed at d way they ll just gather n be looking at any lady that passes by as if they v never seen a lady all their life.
BTW, OP our people are lavishing everywhere in d world, not only in Sharjah, especially those that are so desperate to leave d Shores of Naija hoping to get easy money in another man's country. Fellow Nairalanders, life is not easy anywhere in d world, all u need is focus n hardwork, u too can make it in Nigeria. Nevertheless, avoid those travel agents that ll promise u 500k job in any country, it's 98% impossible to get such offer y u r still in Nigeria. That same country they promised u job of 500k has a lot unemployed people in d particular country.
Again be mindful of dubious friends abroad that ll promise u automatic lucrative once u enter town, dey r only trying to use u to maximize their pocket only for u to be stranded wen u land. Some of them ll go to the extent of changing their no.once u call them from airport to inform them that u have arrived. Ur sorrowful mystery will start at the airport, that's y many of our people are in between d devil and deep red Sea abroad, wen life gets too hard on dem, they ll resort to illegal means of survival cos nobody wants to be seen as a failure if deported or returned back to naija. So they choose to live as illegal immigrants in another man's land than to be free n at d same time poor in Naija. I bet you meant "languishing" LAVISH1. Characterized by or produced with extravagance and profusion: a lavish buffet. See Synonyms at profuse. 2. Immoderate in giving or bestowing; unstinting: The critics were lavish with their praise. tr.v. lav·ished, lav·ish·ing, lav·ish·es 1. To give or bestow in abundance; shower: lavished attention on his customers. 2. To give something in abundance to: "The aides began lavishing him with kindnesses" (Kay Marie Porterfield). |

What is the meaning of all this? The job you did for the president, was it the president's private job or government related? If it was private, why were you paid from government coffers? If it was government related, was it advertised and did it follow due process? Also how much tax did you pay on the N400m? Where is your tax certificate? Please stop playing to the gallery and prove your innocence. |
