Culture / Re: Women Want To Be Men, We Can’t Be Equal – Ooni Of Ife’s Wife by Dynamite02: 6:22pm On Jun 18, 2016
Favolly:
There are people who disagree with the term "gender equality" and then go on to present their reasons in an intelligent way, but this one is just so shallow.

Why is gender in Nigeria always discussed within the context of marriage? Is that all there is to life?

“Relationships today are ending because women want to be men...”

Auntie, you're really one to talk about broken relationships. Were you not married three times before you married the Ooni? Typical Nigerian woman! Get married, put on a cloak of self - righteousness and judge others for the same things you used to do.

Please stick to being an appendage of a custodian of culture and tradition and leave public speaking alone.

It's the people that gave her microphone I blame sef. What was her qualification to give the speech? If I ran into this lady at the airport, I’d probably chat her up about the most recent Yoruba movies I saw on YouTube, definitely not world issues…

What next ? She’s going to share her opinion on climate change? Girl bye!

How many gbbosa I wan give u now? Abeg take one trailer load first...

The only reason the slaves are included as delta Igbos is that the fools bear Igbo names and call themselves Ukwuani;which is an Igbo name. Save for that nobody would have known they existed. Fuck_ing idiots.
OMG!!! *hands on my head*.....why na? was not expecting this kind of answer,in short this one nor be answer...vexation nor good o!!!
Onto the matter, its a pity we don't have history books / curriculum...we depend on folk tales without proper documentation and as it passes on from generation to generation it becomes adulterated...hence the confusion

Talking about delta igbos, are the ukwani's part of them? Why are they and every other tribe generally referred to as "Kwale"? People from Aboh belong to what tribe? Are they ukwani's too? Is the ukwani a local government or a tribe?

Its all about understanding where one is coming from.

Thanks! I thought about a lawsuit but na who chop belle full d pursue matter for naija, besides it won't bring them back.
But I make it my goal to encourage people with medical issues : always go for second opinion and even third,do not ignore any odd sign and try have some medical knowledge too for it can help one express oneself and relate well with medical practitioners, and the doctors should listen too.(I did my own research and suggested to the doctor that my dad should have a colonoscopy,he was feeling like .."I am the doctor here"wink

My pregnant mum went for scanning and the result showed twins...she developed high bp wondering where twins would come from, esp. when there's no twins in our family history and the fact that she was supposed to be in menopause...long story short she had heart attack and died. After her death it was discovered there was no twins at all.

My dad was diagnosed with ulcer, started taking injections everyday as prescribed by his doctor(the pain was unbearable)..yet his health deteriorated...we latter found out he had liver cancer...it was too late ,he died.

Ok I just did and I got this "The Komodo dragon (Varanus komodoensis),

species of lizard.....A member
of the monitor lizard family Varanidae." These reptiles are of different species and can be confusing really...that one the op killed is tiny, compared to the massive giant lizards in my village.

TonyeBarcanista, from the comments of most people that I have read, you can deduce that most people agree with Dickson. Though he is a nut head for calling his people lazg.

Maybe that is his way of making the Niger Delta youths to wake up from their slumber and stop being lazy.

"Our Oyel" mentality actually killed that region. Imagine the Yorubas or Igbos having access to the opportunities you guys have and what they would have achieved with it. I am sure by now Harvard Yale Cambridge LSE Oxford MIT and other Ivy League schools would have banned Nigerians from applying to their schools.

There is an urgent need to re-orientate the minds of an average youth of ND. This requires a visionary and bold leadership that drive and inspire those seemingly lost youths. Do you have such personality in the region?
Instead of playing the "blame" card TonyeBarcanista should focus more on how we can come out of this disgraceful truth. Chew this truth and digest it,it is the truth..

[quote author=989900 post=45407445]90% of Nigerians don't even know what love is, their love and marriage is largely either a commercial enterprise, or a social security programme.

Fact: 9 in every 10 relationship is largely based on financial benefits or security. Most women including Dabota will likely not be married to whom they are married to today if they (the women) are properly financially secured and independent (few women actually even understand what that means). Then you have those who marry to please their family and the society.

E.g. Rita Dominic,Linda Ikeji and Genevive Nnaji....society won't let them be
