Thinking of starting a business but not sure where to begin? You're not alone. A lot of Nigerians want to escape 9-5 stress or start a side hustle—but with so much info out there, it’s hard to know what really works. Let me tell you a quick story that might just open your eyes: Back in 2019, a guy called Kyle Scott pitched a simple idea to real estate celeb Ryan Serhant: “Let’s turn your book into an online course.” Kyle had never built a course before—but he understood one key thing: People don’t pay for information. They pay for transformation. Here's his no-fluff playbook for making online courses that actually bring in income: 1. STOP JUST "CREATING" AND START OWNING YOUR EXPERTISE The first step isn't about tech-it's about mindset. If you're just making content for clicks, you're in the creator economy. But if you're using content to drive sales of a product based on your knowledge, welcome to the expert economy. That shift is key, especially now that Al tools pump out generic content fast. "You can't fake time and experience," Scott says. 2. SELL THE TRANSFORMATION, NOT JUST INFO Biggest mistake creators make? Selling what they know instead of what their audience wants to become. People pay for results-losing weight, landing clients, getting promoted. If your course helps someone change their life, that's what sells. Nail the emotional payoff. Here’s the kicker: They didn’t use magic. They used real strategy: They sold results, not just knowledge. (Weight loss, business growth, job promotions—people pay for outcomes.) And most importantly? They didn’t let self-doubt stop them. Because to a beginner, even a small step ahead is valuable. And that’s YOU right now. If you’ve ever said: “I want to start a business, but I need guidance.” “I want to make money from what I know or love doing.” “I need a community to grow with, not just watch from the sidelines…” Then it’s time to join The Smart Money Circle on the Dysh App. In our group, you’ll: Get access to insights like these every week Connect with other young Nigerian entrepreneurs Share ideas, ask questions, and get support Learn how to turn your skill or passion into serious income How to join: Download the Dysh app with the link in bio(use any of the links available it will redirect you to download) join the startup group and say hi—we’re waiting for you Don’t try to build alone. Controversial Nollywood actor and now self-proclaimed spiritual figure, Yul Edochie, has once again shocked fans with his latest revelation — he says his call to become a native doctor is not just personal, but a divine assignment from the Most High God. In a recent post on social media, Yul, who’s no stranger to shaking the table, shared that many people have misunderstood what it means to be a native doctor. According to him, his calling wasn’t born out of rebellion or controversy but came straight from above. “Many pastors today actually have the calling to be native doctors,” he said. “But they’re refusing to answer because we’ve been brainwashed to see it as evil. Oyibo people made us believe our own spiritual ways are wrong. Nollywood didn’t help either—we made native doctors look like villains.” For Yul, being a Dibia (native doctor) isn’t something dark or shameful. Instead, he describes it as a sacred role — one that involves healing, protection, and fighting spiritual battles for people in need. “Being a native doctor means you’ve been chosen by God to help others. That’s why some people never find peace or success in life—because they’re running from their true calling,” he explained. This isn’t the first time Yul has blurred the line between faith and controversy. After launching his own ministry, "True Salvation Ministry," earlier this year, many questioned whether he was serious or simply trolling. But with this latest statement, it’s clear that Yul is following a spiritual path that many still struggle to understand — or accept. Online, reactions have been mixed. Some fans believe he’s genuinely found a purpose beyond the screen, while others think he’s simply seeking attention. Regardless of public opinion, Yul stands firm. To him, this isn’t about likes or clout — it’s about divine destiny. Stay updated on all the latest Naija celebrity drama and trending news in Real Talk Lounge on Dysh! It looks like there’s serious tension between popular TikTok couple, Jarvis and Peller. We all remember when Peller proposed to Jarvis with an expensive ring before he left for the UK. Everyone thought they were engaged and planning a wedding. But just recently, Jarvis went live on TikTok and said it wasn’t an engagement ring—it was a promise ring. According to her, it was just a sign of commitment, not marriage. That statement didn’t sit well with Peller. He called her out, saying the ring cost $3,000 and he didn’t appreciate her downplaying it. Since then, fans have noticed some strange behavior. Jarvis unfollowed Peller on Instagram, while he’s still following her. People started wondering—are they still together? To make things worse, Jarvis told Peller to “shut up” during a reality show interview while talking about her past health struggles. Many viewers felt it was disrespectful and may be a sign of deeper issues in their relationship. Let’s also not forget, months ago, Jarvis said she couldn’t marry Peller unless he furthered his education and worked on himself. That alone showed she was starting to have second thoughts. While neither Jarvis nor Peller has officially confirmed a breakup, the sequence of events—including public disagreements, social media actions, and on-air incidents—suggests tension in their relationship. Fans and observers continue to monitor their interactions for further developments. So what do you think—is this a breakup in the making, or are they just going through a tough phase? Veteran rapper Eedris Abdulkareem has done it again—and this time, the heat is real. His latest track, "Tell Your Papa," calls out Seyi Tinubu and lays bare the harsh reality many Nigerians are facing. With lyrics like “Seyi, tell your papa country hard. Tell your papa people dey die,” the song doesn’t hold back—and now the Nigerian government is firing back. The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has officially banned the song, labeling it “inappropriate for broadcast.” But Nigerians aren’t keeping quiet. Amnesty International is calling it a clear attack on freedom of expression, and artists like VeryDarkMan have even vowed to sponsor the video for it. Let’s be honest—these days, the line between a real relationship and a situationship is so blurry, even the people involved don’t know what they’re doing anymore. You’ll hear things like, “We’re just vibing,” “He hasn’t defined it yet,” or “She’s just my friend, but we’re close.” Sound familiar? Let’s talk real gist—are you in a relationship, or are you just vibing inside a premium situationship?💁♀️ A lot of people don’t know the difference until it’s too late. And funny enough, our celebs are the perfect case studies. Tiwa Savage & Tee Billz These two were the ultimate "we’re just working together" pair until boom—wedding bells. But after the wedding came premium gbas gbos. At one point, Tee Billz went online and ranted: “With what period of time did you fk Jazzy and Dr. Sid... even when you were fking with 2face?” Wild, right? Meanwhile, Tiwa came out in an emotional interview saying: “I knew this marriage wasn’t going to work, but I stayed for love and image.” That’s not relationship, that’s textbook situationship with a marriage certificate. Burna Boy & Chloe Bailey They were caught partying hard in Lagos, Chloe even wore his $1 million chain—vibes were giving “soft launch.” But after things cooled down, Chloe posted a cover where she sang: “You wasted all my time, know you gonna miss all the times we had shared.” If that’s not "men are scum" energy, I don’t know what is. Relationship or PR situationship? You be the judge. Yul & May Edochie What started as a solid marriage turned to full-blown drama. Yul said May was “pretending to be a saint,” while also posting cryptic things like: “Stop forming pity party when you’re not a victim.” And May, on her end, made it clear: “You don’t get to choose how I heal.” Honestly, at this point, their story looks more like a messy situationship wrapped in the cloth of marriage. Nineteen years ago, Nigerian-American filmmaker Nnegest Likké made history with Phat Girlz, a romantic comedy that boldly celebrated self-love, body confidence, and African beauty. The 2006 film starred Mo'Nique as Jazmin, a plus-size woman who finds love and self-worth after meeting a charming Nigerian doctor (played by Jimmy Jean-Louis). What many don’t know is that Phat Girlz was the first Hollywood film to use Afrobeats, featuring 2Baba’s African Queen and Danfo Drivers’ music. It was also the first Hollywood film written and directed by an African woman, with red carpet premieres in Lagos and Abuja! Speaking on the 19th anniversary, Nnegest reminded women to love themselves fiercely and never settle in relationships. On April 7, 2025, the very controversial actor Edochie posted on Instagram, advising guys to approach women they like regardless of their social standing. “Young men, let me give you some tips as an OG in the game. If you like a lady, no matter her status, walk up to her and tell her you like her. Don’t wait till you have money before you can talk. Money is not everything.“ At the end of the day, Yul Edochie underlined that the worst thing a disinterested woman can say is no, and that confidence is king regardless of a woman’s class or background. “Confidence is number 1.Ladies love men who have guts and confidence no matter their class. Never let your confidence level drop for any reason. She will not kill you, she’ll either say yes or no. But most likely, in the end she’ll say yes, because like I told you before, ladies love strong men.” As would be expected, his bold statement raked all sorts of reactions from social media users. While some users praised the idea that boldness matters, others weren’t buying it at all. The Edo State House of Assembly has removed Hon. Natasha Osawaru Irobosa, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the partner of Nigerian music legend 2Face Idibia, from her position as Minority Leader. This decision comes as part of a leadership change in the Assembly, which saw the removal of other PDP leaders, including Hon. Charity Aiguobarueghian, the Majority Leader, and Hon. Yekini Idaiye, the Chief Whip. However, despite these changes, PDP members Hon. Blessing Agbebaku and Maria Edeko, who serve as Speaker and Deputy Speaker, respectively, retained their positions. The reshuffle followed a significant shift in the political balance of the Assembly after four PDP lawmakers defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), resulting in the PDP losing its majority. The Speaker of the House, Hon. Agbebaku, announced that the new Majority Leader is now Hon. Ibhamawu Jonathan Aigbokhan (APC – Esan West), with Hon. Addeh Emakhu Isibor (APC – Esan North-East I) and Hon. Lecky Hussein Mustapha (APC – Etsako West I) taking on the roles of Deputy Majority Leader and Chief Whip, respectively. In response to the change, the PDP is expected to present its own nominations for principal officer roles within the House. Agbebaku also clarified that the current leadership of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker remains unaffected by the reshuffling.
