Afrobeat superstar, Davido has asserted that his business and career go sour anytime he starts a fight with his wife, Chioma.

Davido has been in the news for days after he opened up on his music career, his marital life, and other relationships with his colleagues in the industry.

Afrobeats superstar Davido has revealed plans to hold his white wedding ceremony with his wife, Chioma, in August in Miami, USA.

In an interview on The Breakfast Club, Davido confirmed the upcoming event, saying, “I’m doing my white wedding in Miami in August. Our traditional marriage shut down Nigeria because our relationship was in the public eye, and a lot has happened, apart from losing our child.”

The announcement comes 10 months after their lavish traditional wedding, held in June 2024 at Eko Hotels in Lagos, which was attended by top celebrities and dignitaries.

During the interview, Davido opened up about the strength of their relationship, including the tragic loss of their son, Ifeanyi, in 2022.

“In my case, my kids got a great upbringing and education but [will get] less than 1 percent of the total wealth because I decided it wouldn’t be a favor to them. It’s not a dynasty. I’m not asking them to run Microsoft.

“I wanna give them a chance to have their own earnings and success, be significant and not overshadowed by the incredible luck and good fortune I had.”

Though he believes that those who have made their fortunes in the “tech sectors are probably the most aggressive about giving most of it away,” he made sure to note that “different families see [the situation] differently.”

Shamani then asked his guest whether his children had ever expressed disappointment that the majority of his billions would not end up in their accounts.

“You don’t want your kids to ever be confused about your support for them and your love for them,” Bill explained, “and so I do think explaining early on your philosophy that you’re gonna treat them all equally and that you’re gonna give them incredible opportunities but that the highest calling for these resources is to go back to the neediest through the foundation.”

He added that his brood has “seen the success of the foundation,” and he hopes “they’re very proud” of it.

Under the new policy, Sterling customers will enjoy free transfers for all local transactions conducted via the bank’s mobile app. This translates into significant savings, particularly for individuals and new small business owners who make frequent daily transfers.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the bank stood out by providing supplementary payments to healthcare workers in public hospitals—at a time when few others were willing or able to offer additional support.
