The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has warned of potential fuel shortages due to rising petroleum costs. Speaking in Ilorin, IPMAN’s National PRO, Alhaji Okanlawon Sulaiman Olanrewaju, attributed the situation to a pricing dispute with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL). He noted that NNPCL is selling fuel to marketers at ₦1,010 per liter, which is higher than prices at NNPCL retail outlets, putting marketers at a disadvantage.

Olanrewaju also revealed that IPMAN members have paid ₦15 billion for fuel at the old price of ₦750 per liter, but NNPCL is now asking them to top up payments before receiving the product. He warned that the directive for marketers to halt operations could lead to fuel shortages once existing supplies run out.

IPMAN opposes the reinstatement of fuel subsidies and calls for full deregulation to allow competition, which they believe will drive down prices.

A$AP Rocky has revealed the moment he knew Rihanna was "the one" for him.

The 36-year-old rapper and the music megastar, also 36, confirmed their relationship in late 2020 after years of friendship.

The couple are now parents to their two sons, two-year-old RZA and 14-month-old Riot.

In an interview with W Magazine published on Tuesday, Rocky divulged that he knew he and the Take a Bow hitmaker were right for each other for a long time.

A loan shark responds following an error involving a woman who was granted a loan of N2.5m instead of N2500 and was slammed with a repayment sum of N6.8m.

FairMoney Nigeria (@fairmoney_ng), a leading digital lending platform, has responded to a viral post in which a user alleged that their aunt mistakenly received a ₦2.5 million loan instead of the intended ₦2,500, alongside an added interest of ₦4.6 million.

The platform, in its official response, suggested that the error may have been caused by the aunt selecting the wrong loan amount during the application process.

More than 100 people are to sue rap musician Sean 'Diddy' Combs for sexual assault, rape and sexual exploitation, a US lawyer has said.

Texas-based lawyer Tony Buzbee said that some of the alleged victims include minors who were abused when they were as young as nine years old.

"This is an important matter that we intend to aggressively pursue," Mr Buzbee told reporters.

Erica Wolff, a lawyer representing Mr Combs, said the rapper "emphatically and categorically" denies the allegations, saying they are "false and defamatory".

Speaking at a news conference on Tuesday, Mr Buzbee said he and his team “will leave no stone unturned to find potentially liable parties” in the alleged abuse, or “any individual or entity who participated in or benefited from this egregious behaviour”.

Ms Wolff said in a statement to the BBC that Mr Combs "looks forward to proving his innocence and vindicating himself in court, where the truth will be established based on evidence, not speculation".

The legal action is the latest against Mr Combs.

Mr Combs was arrested last month and is facing criminal charges of racketeering and sex trafficking. He is currently in federal custody after he was denied bail, which he is appealing.

He has denied all allegations of criminal wrongdoing.

Andrew Van Arsdale, an attorney at the AVA law group which is working with Mr Buzbee, said his firm had received more than 3,000 phone calls from people alleging abuse by the music mogul.

In addition to the 120 alleged victims, he said his firm were working to vet another 100 cases.

Former President Goodluck Jonathan, on Thursday, denied sacking the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi as Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, for alleging that $49.8 billion went missing from the country’s coffers.

Jonathan said Sanusi was suspended because the Financial Reporting Council queried CBN’s expenditure and his tenure elapsed.

He said an international audit firm was employed to scrutinize the CBN and it was discovered that no amount went missing, contrary to Sanusi’s claim.

Jonathan spoke at the launch of the book, ‘Public Policy and Agents Interests: Perspectives from the Emerging World’, co-authored by former Minister of Finance, Shamshudeen Usman, who served as Minister of Planning under his government.

According to Jonathan: “Let me mention that I did not agree with some issues raised by one of the contributors. But I don’t intend to join issues because he is our royal father. And he is here.

“The one he raised that he was sacked because he blew a whistle that the Federal Government lost $49.8 billion is not quite correct. He was not sacked, he was suspended because the Financial Reporting Council queried the expenditure of CBN. And there were serious infractions that needed to be looked at. That was the reason.

“But somehow, the time was short. So before we finished, his tenure elapsed. Probably, he would have been called back.

“On the issue of $ 49.8 billion, till today, I am not convinced that the Federal Government lost $49.8 billion.

“And that year, our budget was $31.6 billion. So for a country that had a budget of $31.6 billion to lose about $50 billion and salaries were paid, nobody felt anything. The researchers that wrote this book need to do further research.

And more so, when our revered royal father came up with the figures. First $49.8 billion, later $20 billion and later $12 billion. I don’t even know the correct one.”
