Ralph Uwechue was the President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo. He is from the same local govt as Ibe Kachikwu. Is he not Igbo too?" Don't mind some people...He is a correct Igbo man...Nwa afo Igbo. No particular Igbo tribe is better than the other. It's geographical creations that divided the land of Igbos. There are Igbos in Rivers, Delta, Kogi, Cross Rivers, Imo, Anambra, Abia, Enugu, Ebonyi. Let no one mislead you...with Biafra thing. |

Jonathan's Presidency was a complete disaster from top to bottom. It was full of so many blunders. He (+team) lacks wisdom and intelligence in handling crucial national issues. He'd set Nigeria backwards and nearly would have crashed the nation. National security & economy is in tatters. This is a classical case of an event that ends with people saying ' NEVER AGAIN!' I am not bidding him any fare well because we Nigerians have not fared well under his govt. GMB should start the national cleansing from GEJ govt backwards. |

Wsdm: The South-South where Jonathan hails from are even extremely more matured than their counterpart in the South East. It seems Jonathan has been used to a point of despiration by these people- the reason they are so pained. Governor Nyako had said that the war against the Boko Haram by Ihejirika led army was a retalliation of the civil war against the north. I am begining to see this as true. Anyway, let us wait for a sane government to take charge; who knows, there may be much that we have not heard. The greatest enemy of Jonathan are the Igbos and Jonathan may soon realise this fact. When Buhari and the save Nigeria Group were busy protesting against the Yar'adua cabal, where were the Igbos? Hatred is not good ooo. Let it not be a habit! |

You are free to travel to Lagos since you are a Nigerian, work and pay to your tax since you reside there... build your house there since you are equally a citizen of the country and other right given to us as a citizens to leave freely in all state of the federation but that should not give you the right tell the indigenes of Lagos that its a no man land... by doing that you are bound to steer up bitterness among Locals of the state...election is over stop all this madness please Nice one! |

Is he their father or their conscience that he should dictate how they should vote? The beauty of democracy is in the freedom of choosing your leaders. Democracy is a game of numbers not a game of intimidation and bitterness. If GEJ was like him this country would have been burnt down. Justfollowit: That is what is happening. The Igbos have been shouting Agbaje and PDP while the Yoruba's have been all about Ambode.
I hate Nigerian politics I haven't see them shouting so I am afraid. Don't see it that way dear because as of recent OBJ was still a PDP member not to talk of other Yoruba leaders, likewise APC has transformed from originally Yoruba party (ACN) to national party (ACN, ANPP, APGA (Rochas faction), CPC) and has won power at the centre. Let us allow this wind of change to work and not pull down the little democratic gain on platter of tribalism and confusion. Let everyone vote whoever he or she prefers. Let the best candidate win. |

Justfollowit: He made the statement because he is human
Agbaje is a Lagosian but you and I know that he is being pitched against the Yorubas. The issue of both contestants is that they represent Igbo and Yoruba populace in Lagos. The igbos want Agbaje but the Yorubas want Ambode. Unless if you want to pretend that Lagos in practice is a no man's land, will you fail to see the issue with Agbaje candidacy and the party he emanates from. I disagree completely. Both candidates needs everyone's vote. Don't pitch Igbo against Yoruba for no reason. |

They shall forever remain irrelevant in Nigerian politics. Bunch of tribalists Not good to generalize all Igbos as tribalist just because of the fall out of 2015 election. Igbos should learn how not to put all their eggs in one basket.
One of our biggest problem is not letting go of the past and not understanding the dynamics of Nigeria politics.
There is no way an Igbo man can be a president without the help of other regions. Never!
The other side of it is that had it been that Okorocha and Peter Obi had not defected from APGA, may be APGA would have been regionally strong enough to be a basis for political negotiation. That's how Tinubu worked ACN, transforming it from regional party to national.
Unfortunately, APGA is almost dead unless something drastic happens. If Obiano also defects, then APGA is finshed.
Okorocha and Peter Obi - both had opportunity to build APGA to be regionally strong but failed.
Igbos shine your eyes. Don't cry marginalization as we have lost our political position to other ethnic group. What did we actually gain from PDP all these while? |

Finally, reality is setting-in and Igbos eyes are now gradually being cleared!
When you walk alone, you die alone. No one should be an island to the other.
We need each other and should embrace peace. The only hope for presidency from Igbo extraction is on the platform of all Nigerians.
Meanwhile charity must first begin at home. Build a platform and ask for support from others.
Let's not live in the past. Let's make sure that gory history of the past does not repeat itself.
Let's be mature for once. Mistake should not be repeated again! |
