I forgot to add that I ended in day 5 because of the excitement of that Jesus encounter but I thank God for grace because I was dead to the flesh after day 3 and from day 4, I was only weak but not hungry.

I guess I was weak because I was fasting for a flimsy reason which was to get an oil company job.

I was reading through it hoping to see the divine encounter that you had in the "wilderness" but i didn't see none which made it seems like a wasted efforts. However, I applaud the boldness that you took.

One thing I must say here is that you don't really need to visit the mountain in order to experience God. Jesus himself abolished that practice when he met the Samaritan woman (John 4:20-26). In verse 21 he said, "Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father...."

That's why none of his disciples went into the wilderness inorder to seek the face of God. Also, going to Jerusalem for pilgrimage have no spiritual significance other than site visit. Those who embark on such journey are a mere tourist.

You can achieve that wilderness experience in the comfort of your home by simply locking yourself up in your room (don't come out), turn off your phone, tv, radio and anything that can give you information from the outside world. This is what I did on 2009 and in day 4 of my 7 days dry fasting, Jesus walked into my room, tap me on my shoulder and said to me "follow me" and then turn back and walked out. I had several other encounters between day 3 and 5 but that to me was the major one.


Try this system and you will glad you did.

The art of human management is the hardest. My own take here is that the executive, legislative and judiciary have to agree on an effective and legal order inorder to curb this banditry and insecurity bedeviling the polity. That's what they are paid for, let everyone get to work and brainstorm.

Life is too short. Man is like vapour. Let's do our best while we can and remember to serve God in our capacity before we leave the stage. The bolded will prove to be the best thing that happened to us while we were here.
