So am adjusting to life over here in regina and I can assure you that it's a wonderful city, though small. But it's a beautiful city where everything works.
For those coming to regina please make sure u resume early to attend orientation (this will help you meet people and please ask questions about anything and everything).
Once you arrive, make sure you get your student id and get your u pass activated (makes you have access to free bus to anywhere in regina), also make sure u get your SIN in downtown incase you were not given at your point of entry. You will also have to adjust your resume to regina standard (to apply for jobs and please accept anything that comes your way, you can always switch jobs later). Its important you get a sim here and it's comes with a phone option from iphones to Samsung (you will only be subscribed to a monthly plan).
Please load your nigeria line with lot of credit as your folks can still reach you through it till you get settled.
Also get your bank account opened and ask question about the credit facilities (awuf dey run belle).
Its important you get a saskatchewan Id too. And also get your health card.
Please don't be shy to ask questions oooo. Ask anything you feel you don't understand , don't come here and be forming oooo.... communication is key to your survival here.
Also feel free to contact me anytime.. I will respond once am free (the education system here is totally different from ours back home - am adjusting to it and it's time consuming).

I rejoice with all trv choppers and for those expecting I say congrats in advance.

Regards.

But Regina is a boring city though... hahahahaha

Good day everyone, I just started my NYSC and I wish to do my Masters in a Canadian University immediately after the NYSC scheme, I finished at Unilag with a Second Class Lower, 2.66/5.0 in which I studied Microbiology.

Please is it possible to do Msc directly with my grade and what steps do I need to take to apply.

I assume you will be more qualified to apply for a certificate program or diploma at any of the colleges. 2.65/5.0 might not be enough to get a Masters Degree admission, it's highly competitive.

With all the PDTF scholarships and special benefits from ND ministry, NDDC, DPR, NNPC and private oil companies, which other citizens from the other regions do not enjoy... The jobless and educated illiterates among them will still come here tomorrow to shout marginalization on top of ordinary political appointments with no direct benefit.

Politics / ABU Professor Joins APC Presidential Race by earthgreeners(m): 6:25pm On Oct 11, 2014
Minna – A professor of business education at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, Mr Mahmood Aliyu, has declared his intention to contest the 2015 presidential election on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

The presidential aspirant made the declaration at a press conference on Saturday in Minna.

Aliyu said his decision to vie for the presidency was informed by the agitation for the emergence of new crop of leaders “to fight the malaise in the country.

“There has been agitation for the emergence of new crop of leaders by well-meaning Nigerians in order to take this country out of problems.’’

The aspirant said APC was the only party that would tackle the current security challenges bedevilling the country.

He added that “an APC government will tackle the security issue with all the seriousness it requires and deserves.’’

Aliyu, however, called on the national leadership of the APC to review the N27 million fee for picking the party’s presidential nomination form.

He said “our party should have a rethink about the fee for presidential nomination forms, so that ordinary Nigerians can afford it.

“Ordinary people who have something to offer get scared away by the amount; even the PDP fee is not up to that of our party.’’

He described as embarrassing, reports that he was being sponsored by the ruling PDP to run for president, arguing that he had always been in the opposition since he joined politics in 1993.

The presidential aspirant was born on Nov. 20, 1951 in Niger and he is an indigene of Offa in Kwara. (NAN)
