This thread arose because of a few squabbles with demented Chino. I knew he would post a rejoinder to this thread here. He should leave our dear state alone and focus his foolishness to whatever state he comes from.
This is where his anger was stir for no justifiable reason.

Why on earth would the mods pushed this to front page? The intention is always to show Port Harcourt in bad light.

[s]Capital Yes. Expecially all southern states' men who value their own belly and lust than protecting those that should look up to them. They refused prevent, now they refuse to act when they still can fight courageously to stop the killing of their sons and raping of their wives and daughters. Shame, shame, shame! The next generation shall never forgive this current southern generation of "chop and lose sense. As long as I dey chop, I don't care". I love subtle intelligence of women so much and how they codedly pass accross their message why the southern men still gyrating and deceiving themselves to be men. Have you notice how most southern girl and women are now always dressed in black? They now see their mem as walking dead that refuse to rise to life and responsibility of defence when most needed Maybe stylish designs etc, but black have suddenly become so popular among our female. They have already seen that the men that God created to protect them have become useless weaklings and slaves to intruders that could have been conqured since, who have betrayed their females trust. Being a man no be only to fvck and produce children like pigs. Real Men are Men! And we know ourselves: very few in the south, so we couldn't do much, we were also betrayed severally by the weaklings whenever we planned to.... True life story. Southern women now look up to God, southern men have fail them woefully[/s].
Very funny! Imagine a northerner with the above description of his region taking a dig at the south.

Peter Obi gooffed for attending the burial of Nnamdi kanu's parent. He Obi is nursing the ambition to contest the next presidential election. Going to the burial or a FUGITIVE and a secessionists is very wrong. Obi just armed his rivals what to use against him in 2023 elwction. All they will do is to distribute picture of obi attending the burial of an unrepentant secessionists who is doing everything to break the country. They may accuse him of trying to win the presidency position to break the country .

I am not saying obi shouldn't have sympathize with the Kings family but he should have done it differently by sending message across.

What obi needs right now is to build bridges not indirectly burning them. Most people will see him as an IPOB ALLY NOW and he wants to rule Nigeria
You hit the nail on the head. Only that you’re wasting your time trying to reason with ndi IPOB. The truth remains that Peter Obi goofed big time. He should forget about his Presidential ambition if he is sincere and join IPOB in their quest for secession. But all I know is that his so called alignment with Biafra is fake, and only for personal gains. Let him leave the spotlight for other serious Igbo politicians. He has been so fake from day one.

Most of the people you’re trying to reason with are IPOB members at day and PDP members at night. So take them serious at your own peril. These are same group that voted for Atiku and the same group fighting for PDP in Imo state. This the main reason I hardly visit the cyberspace because all I see are bunch of followers whose presence online reeks illiteracy. I only blame those who think IPOB represents the Igbos because of the loudness of some dumb few.

You lots know where you fight your battles and that’s usually in the politics and crime thread. IPOB vs Afonja! Nnamdi Kanu vs Tinubu/Buhari, APC vs PDP isn’t it?

Cultural threads are usually immune to such battles because the IPOB members see nothing reasonable to argue there. This is why you can count Yoruba culture threads such as this with no form of interference. And if those guys can stealth their swords there, then you guys should restrict your tribal battles too.

So you lots should do the same and not jump into every section to pollute the place. Many people come here to learn one or two things. When you have anything to disprove, then you do so with proofs.

So your claim to ancestry in Jamaica is down to few words like Unu, Soso. This can be likened to coincidence. Soso also means only in Yoruba and Akara is generally known throughout the entire south west. You can't claim language similarity by pin pointing few words. There has to be a coordinnated expressions that bear similar meaning. So many words coincide around the world.
So how come we’ve not been hearing about this soso in daily Yoruba words and names? Unlike the Igbos where the soso is a common theme in names, words, grammars and Igbo music.
Take for instance these names and meanings
Sochima - only God knows (late Okparaji’s middle name)
Soso ya ji nma agha - Only him held the cutlass
Soso mu na gi - Only I and you
Soso nri ka ima eri - Only food is what you know how to eat.
Soso gi ka m ga efe - Only you shall I worship (Igbo gospel song)
And countless
So let’s see the Yoruba version.

Soso (only) as in Okan soso (one only) and Akara (Bean cake) are pure and genuine Yoruba words. Igbos who don't understand Yoruba Language much, even find it a bit difficult to pronounce Akara properly for the first few times. I knew this because I grew up in Surulere with many Igbo friends. so the OP should cut those crap and lists only the words he/she is sure of...
I agree with you. Soso means only in Yoruba. Igbo language copied soso from the Yoruba’s. Same as Akara. Are you happy grin

Igbo and their desperation to dominate and lay claim to every good thing albiet through dubious mean. The evidence provided in the Jamaica claim isn't rich enough to validate Igbo ancestry. The few similarity in pronunciation can't be divorced from coincidence. Such coincidence exist in many language. When it comes to pread of influence to remote region of the world, Yoruba are unrivaled. The evidence is so glaring that an unadulterated Yoruba is still being spoken by a large section of Brazio, Cuba and some South American country. Even the culture are still retained in their original form. Yoruba gods and diety are also identified in these region. You see them worship Obatala, Sango, Yemoja etc
Open up a thread for that purpose. This thread is about the Igbo heritage in Jamaica. A large percent of Igbo slaves left cultural links in the America’s just as other west African tribe.
Igbos don’t go about disputing Yoruba links in Brazil or Cuba, stop the inferiority complex it kills.

God bless you bro. I deliberately left any discussion that pertains to Ndigbo on nairaland. Why? Because nairaland is not the place to discuss our issues that affects us. So I spend my time on close Facebook group, because you’re guaranteed that you’re discussing with your Umunne.

I laugh when I see Pazienza, Udechi, Chinenye, Horsepower, etc fall for their tricks. I know the game of the Yoruba as far as Nairaland is concerned, they sleep, eat and dream Igbos.
Over 98% monikers on this thread are non-Igbos. Why don’t they open up their thread to discuss their problems there. Theirs was deliberately kept dormant for years. Rather, you see them open Igbo thread with fake Igbo monikers, posting Igbo topics to deceive who? Themselves. Lol! We know the game.

That escalated quickly.

Mr11.

As you can see. You have a big job on your hands to tame the likes of the Lady running rampage on this thread in your land. And believe me, there are many of them in Ukwuani land.

Until you have done your inner house cleaning, there isn't much the rest of us can do, we would simply move on without you lots and your distractions.

Funny thing is that even your Ukwuani ethnicity has already fragmented as currently, the Ndokwa East people led by Aboh, claim to be of independent ethnicity called Ndiosumili, athey hate being called Ukwuani people, they prefer being called Ndokwa people, while the people of Ukwuani LGA abhor the name Ndokwa and insists you all must be Ukwuani.

Worst still , the Isoko people the ancestors of Ndiosumili harboured in Ndokwa East LGA in precolonial times as customary tenants are today laying claim to indigenous ownership of those lands you gave them in Ndokwa East, and they in typical Isoko culture have outbreeded you and now out number you in population.
They are already testing waters in their claim to those lands, and as the years go by, their claim will become bolder.

I foresee a war between you and those Isokos, especially now you are lacking inhabitable lands following the yearly flooding of your lands by the River Niger. You will soon start demanding the Isokos hand over the lands you gave to them, which the Isokos already anticipated which explains they recent pro active measures.

It's a ticking time bomb, what is happening in Ndokwa East, and if you lots don't put your house in order and stop the Igbophobic chants, we would also watch from the sidelines as the Isoko and Urhobo use their federal might and population to chase you out of those lands.

In case you have not noticed, many of us are getting comfortable with the idea of South East, Aniocha , Oshimili, Oyigbo and who else is proud of being Igbo, as the boundaries of Igboland.
It's a pity. The Igbophobic element in those axis will get what they deserve in time. They should run to meet Oba of Bini to come intervene on their behalf. Imagine Ndokwa east almost falling into the hands of the Isoko. What would be the fate of the so-called Ndokwa ethnic nation if Ndokwa east turns to another Warri. We don't pray for bad thing, but the happenings in that axis speaks louder than words.
I just pray they don't run to Ndigbo for assistance because they would be reminded they're not Igbo. I trust my people, another Nzeogwu solidarity would never repeat itself again. Never!
This would serve as a lesson to all the fools . As someone rightly said, only a serious conflict will reset their senses.. A serious conflict divided Igboland and a serous conflict may unite Ndigbo again.
