Good table. Atiku was the Presidential candidate.
The challenge is still on.

What is the OP smoking?

MKO lost three out of the four eastern states in 1993 and OP still want to convince me that Igbos massively voted for MKO. Like seriously? Smh!
Yes, a 47% vote to Abiola SDP is a massive vote. NRC with an Igbo VP got 53% votes. A meagre 6% difference.
Show me where the Yoruba's have ever gifted an Igbo Presidential candidate from 1960 Zik to 2003 Ojukwu 1% of their votes.
1% is a challenge. Yet, you guys come online to paint the Igbo black when tribalism reeks in you fabrics.

Jonathan is not Igbo now, is he? By the way, he got over 95% of the votes casted in SE at that same 2011, and we all know of the election apathy that greeted the presidential election in SW in 2011. Turnout was poor. And was Buhari really a major contender in 2011? We can as well claim he a major contender in 2007 when he had Ogbonnaya Onu?
I don't think so.

In 2015, The rebranding of Buhari was done by Yoruba controlled media, just like GEJ demonization was done by same .
But fair play, many Yorubas voted for GEJ. But GEJ isn't Igbo now, is he?
That's a good question? The challenge is still up. Yoruba's have never voted an Igbo Presidential candidate since 1960.
The ball is in their court to prove us wrong. If they can show me when they gifted us just 1% of their votes, from 1960 till the time of Ojukwu in 2003 then I'll apologize to them.
The gauntlet is still thrown open.

Peter Obi was the Vice Presidential candidate of PDP and he got more than 40% of vote cast in 2019 election in Yorubaland
But your people have told us time without number that Atiku was the reason they voted PDP and not because of Peter Obi.
Some even went as far as blaming the picking of an Igbo VP as the reason why PDP lost the elections. A Yoruba VP for Atiku was their choice but it didn't sail through.
We were all witness to this.

Yoruba man has never won an election in SE
Okay let's believe it happened before independence, how did it turn out for Zik. Cross carpeting right?
But the truth stares you in the face. Have the Yoruba's ever given even 2% votes to an Igbo candidate since 1960?

I actually did my IT in Annamco Emene during my university days. It was a wonderful experience as well as my first time in Enugu state.
The company is owned by both Enugu and Anambra states which part ownership from Mercedes Benz.
It was commissioned by Shehu shagari and Alex Ekwueme in the early 1980's.

You can imagine SE giving 47% of our votes to A Yoruba candidate , a Muslim-Muslim ticket, in an election an Igbo son was a VP to a major contender in Tofa.

Most liberal? Nope. That's most stupid and disunited, according to Nigerians.
Those who do their opposite are sophisticated.
But if we do the opposite, we became tagged tribalists, hateful, wicked, you mention it. grin

This thread is pointing to the SW sophisticated ones who have never since 1960 voted an Igbo candidate.
The SE has voted every tribe to power, but when it comes to their turn you hear mischief maker giving tribalistic reasons why they shouldn't be President. The SWesterners can never be liberal as the Igbo's in Nigerian politics, yet they call us names.

Abiola got a combined 48% of total votes in Four SE states of Abia,Enugu, Anambra, and Imo.
As you rightly said Pazienza some years back. The coming of the internet ended Lagos-Ibadan expressway propaganda.

The Igbo's are the most liberal tribe among the tripod, history has shown us that overtime. If only other two can show as much sacrifice to the Nigerian unity and progress as the Igbo's, this country would have become a better place.

When you look at these election results u can bodly say one Nigeria. That was when Nigerians voted without considering religious or ethinic background. Is it still possible to have a Nigeriavlike we had in 1993??
You're right. We practice true democracy then. Even up north wasn't different, Tofa lost his home state of Kano to Abiola.
Abiola won in Anambra, Edo, Delta, Akwa-Ibom, Cross Rivers and garnered large votes in northern and other SE/SS States.

Only the SW voted on tribal lenses. Take a look at Ondo state as well as other SW states in the 1993 voting and you'll understand the tribal identity of our Yoruba brothers. This isn't a bashing but the reality on ground.

Who won Yeeboland/SE in 1993 election between Abiola and Tofa?
The question is has your people ever voted an Igbo candidate?
Before you come out to castigate the Igbo's first look at yourselves and you'll see the Igbo's are far liberal than you lots.
Despite an Igbo VP in NRC they still voted Abiola. When will the Yoruba's reciprocate the Igbo's for their gestures in 1993 for Abiola and in 1999/2003 for Obasanjo?

Politics › Igbo's Voted Abiola In 1993: Proof and Graphical Representation by Eastlink(op):
Some misinformation have been peddled online for far too much by some mischief makers from the SW.

The aim of this thread is to dispel these lies with facts. It was on record that Abiola SDP got massive vote from the 4 SE States of Anambra, Enugu, Abia and IMO in the 1993 general elections.

In 1993 the Igbo's threw tribalism to the dust and voted with their conscience despite their own brother as VP running mate to Tofa's NRC.
Dr Sylvester Ugo as running mate to Bashir Tofa wasn't enough to deny Abiola the votes from the SE.
It was on record that Abiola won Anambra state and still garnered over 40% of votes in other SE states as Abia, Enugu and Imo.

Below are graphical representation of the votes and how each States voted.
The aim is to dispel the historical distortions spread by some propagandist from the SW and for posterity sake here on Nairaland.
The Igbo have stood behind Southern alliance in time past from voting Abiola, Obasanjo and GEJ. They've also voted northerners even against their own

Yet, some mischief makers still want to deny the Igbo's such gestures from their part. The Igbo's have voted Yoruba candidate, the onus lies on the SW to show us when since 1960 they've stood behind an Igbo candidate.
Those who come to equity must come with clean hands.

Even Ojukwu had voters in SW when he contested.

Lies. Here's the images of the votes representation in 1992.
Also for your info all Ojukwu votes were gifted to him by Igbo's in the SE/SS. Ojukwu came third after Buhari with 1 million votes despite the rigging by the PDP. This is to dispel distortions that Igbo's didn't vote Ojukwu. The results are there if you want that also.

PDP must give SE a chance in 2023.
Yoruba will never allow APC to give you layelaye.
Unlike you, I post facts. When did Azikiwe win election in Yorubaland. When since 1960, 1966, 1979, 1983 elections did Azikiwe win any Yoruba region or state.
But the Igbo's have done so in 1992 for Abiola and in 1999, 2003 for Obasanjo.
For your information in 1992 Abiola won Anambra state in the SE and got 40% of votes in other 3 remaining states as Enugu, Imo and Abia. Now, despite a Sylvester Ugoh from Abia as running mate to Tofa.
I've posted the graphics above for your view.

As someone said the internet never forgets. You Yoruba's pull out lies to deceive other gullible Nigerians. With what I gathered, there is a supplementary list for both DSSC/SSC, from which they could use to call up candidates but this is dependent on the turnout of the guys on the main list. Last year SMS where sent out to some people for SSC because of the low turnout whether that will be the case this time around I can't tell.
OK, hopefully DSSC do theirs too.

Wike is going to do what he did in last primary again and put pressure on PDP to pick him as candidate. If they fail he will cross over to APC.

If PDP accede his request Wike will turn around select Tambuwal as VP.
I know my Governor very well. He's only level headed when things go his way. But a spoilt brat when he doesn't have his way. He was one of the instrument that led to the downfall of the PDP in the last elections.
The PDP seems to have learnt their lessons and are currently checkmating him nowadays. The Elumelu emergence in the last HOR party positions is a pointer to that fact.
And for the sake of pride, Wike will never leave the PDP to join the APC. That will be be double wahala for him since Amaechi hold the ace there. Nyesom Wike will rather support the emergence of an Umahi than move to the APC.

umahi is not even trusted by pdp cos of his closeness to buhari and giving APC 25 % in the last election
You drew this fact from your bedroom right.
How was Ebonyi state before the emergence of Umahi and how is it now. If others had done 10% of what Umahi has done in the state don't you think Ebonyi would have soared higher than its current position.
You know a bad belle when you see one. Your hate for Umahi won't deny his relevance in PDP and the SE. Ebonyi has done far more for PDP than your state can ever do. PDP is indebted to Ebonyi and the leadership of the party knows this.

The things that can move this country forward we already had before the 1966 coup and the civil war. They were removed as a result of the igbo coup and the civil war......regional and fiscal autonomy. it's not coming back because those who designed the constitution have checkmated the south in the constitution.

igbos cannot break the country because they have too much to lose, all their investments are outside igbo land plus they have been contained. Igbos dont have the military or constitutional power to secede.

There's nothing wrong with the constitution. The only faulty thing is the people in the country.
To be fair our current constitution is a draw back and doesn't reflect the intentions of a progressive country.
The people are not the problem, but the system. Give the people a good system and you'll be surprise how far we'll fly as a country.
