RIP Senator Uwajumogu. |
Dedetwo:Unity beggar. Leave Rivers and face your IPOB. Nnamdi Kanu needs your worship. |
HopeAtHand:And after voting the Ikwerre into power how do you pay them back? As a matter of fact Igbo's should be neutral in that election. Ikwerre's are not the only ethnic group with Igbo affiliation. We have the Ibani's and parts of Okrika who speak a variant of Igbo dialect. Even the Kalabari's too are affiliated with the Igbos through marriage. 80% of Rivers state indigenes either have one Igbo mother, grandmother, uncle, and aunt. So the Igbo's can just play the big brother role and support equity. Let there be equity in Rivers state. Do not fall for Wike's plan. Let the Ikwerre slug it out themselves. There are a selfish people. They should be Equity in our dear state. Left to me I'll support an Ibani for Governor, then when their turn is over, the baton should move to Rivers south east senatorial. Abi na only Ikwerre like better thing? We too need support to be Governor. Ndoki and Egbema man is there and so many top Igbo politicians to pick from. Even the Ogoni's who share same senatorial zone won't mind supporting an Olaka Nworgu. |
hammerU:APC should field an Ibani man while the PDP fields an Ogoni. Igbo and Ijaw ethnic politics in Rivers state is long dead. There are no Ijaws in Rivers state. They should mind their business in Bayelsa. The only Igbo ethnic group in the state are just us. Ikwere people should fight their battles and stop dragging Igbo into their madness. |
Abagworo:The Ikwerre man is always cunning. I think it's high time you're put in your place. You should begin to fight your battles alone and leave other uplanders out of your stupidity. You guys are the most greedy set of people when it comes to politics. You're no different from the north. Many of us have realized that the Ikwerre's are far more evil than the Ijaws who dominated old Rivers. Even doing worst than the accusations their fathers levelled against the south east during the abandon property saga. The creation of the state out of the eastern region truly exposed both the Ikwerre's and Kalabari's as the most greedy set of tribes in the Niger Delta. No other ethnic group matters. It's always about them. I've come to understand that whenever Ikwerre's want to dominate Rivers politics they rally Igbo votes and when the Kalabari's want to outsmart the Ikwerre's they rally the riverine voting bloc. While the Kalabari's chant the Ijaw mantra as a rallying point to gather every tribe in the riverine, the Ikwerre's on the other hand use a kind of sentiments to win the upland votes. Yet they don't give credit to Ndigbo. It is only when election approaches that the Ikwerre remembers the upland voting bloc. But when election is over, they'll begin to rant their 'Ikwerres are majority' trash. No other ethnic group counts in the upland. I think it's time our people receive sense and push these braggarts aside. Let them stand alone and let's see their emptiness for who they really are. As a matter of fact without the votes of the Etche's, Onelga, Obigbo, Ekpeye, Ogoni's and other populous non indigenous Igbo population in P/H, the Ikwerre would have been beaten blue black by the riverine block. I've also noticed that the Ikwerre are very smart in ethnic politics. Because they know the soft side of Ndigbo toward them, they play on this psychology by channelling the Igbo voting bloc to dominate Rivers politics. The Ikwerre's just as the Ijaws of the past are same. Both are too greedy with power. Unlike the Ijaws whose land host a lot of oil wells, Ikwerre's on the other hand contribute a meagre percent of our oil revenue, yet they take a lion share of our political and economic commonwealth. I think it's time power shifts to Ogoniland or to the Ibani's. The Ikwerre's and the Kalabari's should go and sit down. |
Unbiased1:So I should clap for you for showing Coscharis farms? Good one. Do more of that. There are thousands of local rice farms for instance, scattered all over the interiors of Ebonyi, Enugu, Anambra, Abia, Imo, Delta and Rivers. How many time do I see those rural farms or rice mills? Are we to talk about large scale palm plantations or cocoa farms, or even cashew farms, or even poultries. Mr man development of bragging with houses is foolishness. Tell the Igbo story of sweat and hardwork and not overnight estates that doesn't benefits the common man. |
raker300:This una kind of development is not something you should brag about to be honest with you. Development should be encompassing. Industrial revolution, agricultural belts and large processing plants. Any development that does not impact the per capital income of the ordinary man is a waste. Real estate and housing are not the key indices to development. Only greedy estate developers like you will beat their chest and call this development. How about the common man on the streets, the graduates, the jobless youths, the lady engaging in prostitution, the young boy engaging in yahoo yahoo, or the ones running overseas to spoil the image of the country with shady deals. The lack of jobs in Igboland is creating a mass exodus of our people to other lands. How about the health care facilities? I hardly see you post world class hospitals and pharmaceutical companies. You even hardly post tech establishments of Igbo people, as a way of drawing their attention to bringing part of their IT to Igboland. Shame on you for bragging with real estate as development. You hardly show latest industries springing up. In fact many of you don't derive joy in showing the little industrial efforts in Igboland. I hardly see you post Aba shoe shops, I don't see small scale poultries or pig farms, I don't see you post small palm oil mills, I don't see cottage industries, I hardly see you post rice farms and rice mills, I hardly see you post cashew plantations etc. All I see are real estate and houses springing up everywhere. Is this thread only for bragging rights or what? What then is development? Is it the development of Ego Mbute? Make money at all cost and come home to brag about the number of estate one has built? If you are talking about development then tell people the Igbo story. The story of young boys in Aba sewing shoes for export to Gabon. The story of the Onitsha boys casting heavy duty body's for mack trucks. The story of the Abakiliki boys farming their hands all seasons to export rice to Cameroon. Rather than jump up and down shouting development, you should use this page to showcase not just roads, or housing but also the entrepreneurial spirit of Ndigbo. |
Kapilta:Thunder doesn't struck twice in the same place, when it happens it becomes a bad anomaly. This is why most of you won't get it. We know our genuine friends. But that's a secret you won't understand. |
seunmsg:Here you go. Don't involve us and we would be at peace. Thanks. |
seunmsg:And you don't recall the sacrifice of Enahoro, Alfred Rewane - SS. Christy Anyanwu, Barr Ubani, Agbakoba - SE, Shehu Yar'dua NW etc and so many name I've forgotten. |
joeyfire:They don't remember other ethnic groups who ignorantly died cleaning the mess of Abiola. All they remember is themselves. Join us and fight, but when victory is assured only us would climb the podium. This has always been the mindset. |
seunmsg:I'm not from the SE. So you shouldn't pour your anger on them. My views is similar to the thoughts of other South-Southerners. I trust you guys would fight your battles alone and win as you said. No need involving others. |
dokyOloye:I'm saddened each time I hear about the continued detention of Dasuki, Metu, Zakzaky and other numerous ones in detention. Nobody talks about them. Dasuki has been in detention for 5 years now. Why is Sowore's case different? |
dokie:Life is like this. You reap what you sow. |
Please and please, if you're from the SE/SS stay out of the fight between the SW and North. I repeat stay away from the media war of the SW against Buhari. Stay out of a battle you know nothing about. What you're seeing is a sophisticated political pattern of the SW to gain a foothold of the center. Our people say, that he who brought an ant infested wood into a home, is as complicit as the ant itself. Let the bringer carry his ants to the place he sought them from. Many of us can remember vividly the pre and post 2015 shenanigans of the SW. Only ignorant SE/SSoutherners would say they don't know about this. Pre 2015 1. Who called GEJ drunk fisherman and ogogoro drinker? 2. Who denigrated the stool of the presidency by calling GEJ all kinds of unprintable names? 2. Who used the press to destroy the government of GEJ? 3. Who threatened revolution against GEJ? 4. Who carried out mass protest at any given opportunity against the policies of GEJ? 5. Who supported the north when they vowed to make GEJ's government ungovernable? 6. Who presented Buhari as the perfect gentleman to clean up all the bad stains of GEJ? 7. Who called Jonathan's government the worst in the history of Nigeria? 8. Who called the wife of the President Patience Jonathan a chimpanzee as well as an illiterate market woman? 9. Who advised the military to intervene if Jonathan does not hand over power? Post 2015 1. Who cheered Buhari on when he called the SE/SS 5%? 2. Who warned the SE/SS not to expect any position from Buhari's cabinet, speaking even louder than the north? 3. Who called the SE/SS wailers? 4. Who repudiated the SE/SS when Buhari went against the federal character? 5. Who insulted the SE and advised Buhari to called their bluffs when not a single person in that zone was appointed into any major position in government? 6. Who told the SE/SS to go collect their rights from the basket they voted for? 7. Who insulted the SE/SS with the one basket policy and wanted an outright marginalization against this people? 8. Who denigrated the federal character as enshrined in the constitution and asked that a whole zone be punished for voting against the APC? 9. Who supported operation Python Dance against IPOB and the shooting of unarmed protesters? 10. Who supported operation crocodile smile against the Avengers and the military operation on Tompolo? 11. Who supported the mass killings of the Shiites? 12. Who cornered the positions meant for the whole south to themselves? 13. Who backed Ruga and fulanisation plan of the government? 14. Who made mockery of the SE/SS when they got the VP, Speakership and other major positions for themselves? 15. Who is clamouring for the Presidency come 2023 to bypass the SE (the only zone in the south that haven't smelled the Presidency) and be gifted to them despite having rule for two term? Until the humiliation of Vice President Osibanjo, Sowore and others from the SW it was business as usual for them. Many of us neutrals have watched this movie before and understand the political sophistication and pull him down syndrome of our SW brothers. When the SW wants to get back power this is the game they usually play. I would never be fooled by this hypocritical change and repentance. As a matter of fact this is karma fighting against the SW. You don't support injustice against others and want justice for yourself? This is not how natural justice work. For those of us who are ignorant and intend joining the bandwagon of operation pull Buhari down, beware before you get burnt too. Similar situation as today have happened before. 1. The SW was instrumental in bringing down the democratically elected government of President Shehu Shagari. They made Nigerians believe that Shagari was corrupt and that his government was the worst ever. The lost of Pa Awolowo in the General elections in 1983 brought about the scathing criticism and demonization of Shagari's government and openly called for a coup d'etat by the barracks boys to remove Shagari. It wasn't surprisingly when Maj. General Buhari stucked a few months later with wide jubilations in the SW. Emir Sanusi Lamido Sanusi once made reference to this during a his lecture he gave in Arewa forum in Kaduna. The links are available! 2. The SW led by Abiola was instrumental in removing Ernest Shonekan in 1993. Abiola in his wisdom thought that by removing Shonekan with the help of his military friend, that Abacha would restore his mandate to back him. As a matter of fact Abiola was the first to pay Abacha a congratulatory visit for that feat. But it didn't take long before Abacha showed him his true colours. The links are also available too! Recently, history is repeating itself again and many of us know that the fight against Buhari is not genuine. I expect Buhari to carry on with the clampdown on the press. I also expect the quick passage of the hate speech bill as well as the social media prohibition bill. Let those who brought an ant infested wood into the house, carry it out of the house alone. In this particular case, my friends enemy is not my enemy, everyone should carry their cross. |
CirocBoi:Sometimes you need to read before you jump to counter. Ate Russia and Netherlands in Africa, Asia and Australia? |
It's really a shame to see youths of this country paint us in bad light. Some people will always want to talk about the negative things in this country. This was how they hyped Ghana to the extent that many Nigerians began thinking Ghana as more advanced than our country. Same thing happened with the way they hyped Kenya until foul nyash open. The facts remains that Nigeria is not doing badly as portrayed by our own people. In fact we have the best road network in the whole of Africa and Middle East. Abuja alone can even compete with this over hyped Dubai in good roads. People should be careful with the way they denigrate the image of this country. There are only 13 countries more advanced than Nigeria in the whole of Africa, Asia and Australia. Below are the countries 1. Japan 2. Australia 3. New Zealand 4. South Korea 5. China 6. Isreal 7. UAE 8. Malaysia 9. Singapore 10. South Africa 11. Saudi Arabia 12. Morocco 13. Egypt Nigeria dwarfs every others country in other infrastructural and economic indices. Morocco and Egypt are even debatable but I had to put them there for some reasons. |
omenka:This is the first time I'm agreeing with you. Kanu has really cast a spell on IPOB members. May God open their eyes before it becomes too late. Passing shot: May God also open the eyes of Tinubu's boys to be delivered from Sai Barbarism. |
jahsharon:Good one! She stood up to be counted in the fight against corruption. |
Iamgrey5:Who insulted Woke Soyinka? Call them by their names. I hope you don't take the words of street urchins or political touts as the voice of the people. Please bring reputable Igbo names that insulted Soyinka. Soyinka is a hero as far as Ndigbo are concerned. This topic is not about Kongi but about an Igbo woman worth celebrating. |
Iamgrey5:We appreciate them for standing for Ndigbo. May God continue to bless them.. |
mrvitalis:Na shame dey worry dem. Igbo woman came to the rescue of Sowore. Despite the shenanigans of the DSS, history will forever remember this brave Igbo woman. Like Humphrey Nwosu like Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu. |
jahsharon:Those are men who caried out cosmetic judgements. Heroine is feminine. I'm talking about a lady who dared to stand where other Judges couldn't. Who look at tyranny in the eye and didn't blink. Where were the judges you listed when Sowore was denied his freedom. But only one woman dare the lion's whip. |
RareDiamonds:I was told a dibia built a storey building on that land. How true is this? |
PapaBaby:Ndigbo are a special breed. Like Humphrey Nwosu, like Ifeoma Chukwu |
IPOB see your leader. Always goofing. Ohaneze and SE Governors forum we know. Anybody claiming leader is on his own. |
Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu has proven herself an amazon in the face of tyranny. History would remember her for standing up for Sowore. Just like Humphrey Nwosu risked his life to declare Abiola winner of the 1993 elections, Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu has repeated the same feat. Igbos should be respected for always standing up against injustice. |
netpro:True analysis. Most people don't know the inroads APC made in Igboland during the last elections. The PDP fielding a northern aspirant while the APC fielding an Igbo Presidential flagbearer will be the death knell of the PDP in the SE/SS. The SE Governors are doing their underground politicking and all it takes to cause mass defection to Buhari's APC is the Presidential ticket. The PDP haven't learnt their lessons yet, maybe they will come 2023. |
A welcome development. |
