BusinessPreliminary Business Plan On 20 Litre Dispenser Water by easytask(op): 11:48pm On Aug 12, 2017

PRELIMINARY BUSINESS PLAN ON 20 LITRE DISPENSER WATER

Introduction

This Business Plan describes the investment, cost and benefits for setting up our proposed 20 Litres bottle Table water factory in Nigeria.

The proposed Water factory will utilize the use of water from the borehole to produce premium table water in the 20 Litres dispenser bottles and optimized the best water treatment method to give it a premium quality taste in line with the best Bottled water brands in Nigeria.

Justification

Our justification for venturing into the business is due to the facts that

Government has failed to provide the basic drinking water need of every household in Nigeria.
The popularity of bottled water is growing on alarming rates even in towns and villages across Nigeria. Lagos, Kano, Jos and Onitsha with a large living household is one of the largest consumers of packaged water in Nigeria.
Consumption of bottled water is not restricted by any law or religious belief unlike alcohol or some other drinking products.
There is ready made market for the products. All that is needed is quality production program.
And it is a profitable venture

Industry

The Nigerian economy is set to have closed 2016 with its worst economic performance in over 20 years as tight liquidity, high cost of production and depressed private consumption dented economic growth, however it is expected to rebound in 2017 after last year’s contraction.

Economic Analyst at the Focus Economics Consensus Forecast project that the economy will grow 1.3% in 2017, which is down 0.1 percentage points from last month’s forecast. They foresee a 3.0% expansion in 2018 which may translate to a sort of rebound. However a 9% growth is expected in the Table water segment of the economy.

This forecast will see a slight improvement in earnings in the food and beverage sector. There are about 8,000,000 (Eight millions bottles of packed water consumed daily in Nigeria which represents 7.5% of the Nigerian Population. Although the figure is a far cry from the unofficial figure but put at about 16 million bottles daily. However 20 Litres Bottle water consumption in Nigeria represent only about 18% of that estimate.

Competition

Growth in total bottled water volume sales in 2016 according to statistics shows an upward increase of about 9%. Coca-Cola continued to lead bottled water sales in 2016 claiming an off-trade volume share of 15% with its Eva brand. Eva has an early mover advantage and a high quality reputation in the category. Moreover, like other soft drinks brands offered by Coca-Cola, Eva is widely distributed all over the Country and benefits from continuously strong distribution support.

Cway clearly leads the 20Litres dispenser Bottle segment and it is the only visible nationwide brand. There are other brands but at best they are localized within their production area.

Threats to the Industry

High cost of energy
High cost of raw materials especially packaging
Poor quality producers who are bringing disrepute to the industry.
Increasing cost of operation due to the current recession
Inability of operators to increase price arbitrarily to match rising cost of production

Marketing and Sales

The purpose of the Marketing strategy is to sell to the market that is prepared for the best quality premium dispenser bottled table water which is what the plant is positioning to do. Every marketing communications is channeled to making a maximum achievement of our stated goal.

The primary target market will be retailers within production vicinity and its environs and will cut across all consumers including homes, restaurants and business places, while the secondary market will be the Cities bordering the production plant.

The route to the market will be a combination of competitive and marketing strategies which will be emboldened to capture a significant size of the market within the Jos Axis. Every sales and marketing insignia will be designed to give the brand an effective penetration within the proposed sales Area.

Proposed capacity and technology

The plant have an installed Capacity 0f 1,800 Bottles per day working on a single shift of 8 hours a day, and for 300 days a year. However Capacity utilisation has been projected at 50% of installed capacity in the first year.

The capacity of the factory is such to allow gradual increase in production to meet market demand.

Year 1 Year 2 Year 3
Capacity utilization (%) 50% 60% 70%
In Single Bottle (Daily) 900 1,080 1,260
In Single Bottle (Annually) 270,000 324,000 378,000

Raw materials Requirement

The major material used is water. The plant has the capacity to produce empty plastic bottles from PET bottles. Other materials includes, bottle caps, tamper seals and bottle labels.

InvestmentFeasibility Report On Carbon Steel Pipes Production Plant by easytask(op): 9:50am On Nov 20, 2013
Feasibility Report on Carbon Steel pipes Production Plant

Introduction

The Project is in the Production of carbon steel pipes in Nigeria on a small to medium scale using fully automated machines.

The overriding objectives of the steel industry is to be able to meet the demands for cast iron, rods and bars, wires, structural steels, flat sheet steels, and also the entire spectrum classified as flats, stainless and other special alloy steels, rails and pipes and plates in its various sizes in width and thickness.

The steel sector so widely recognized as essential for industrialization, but largely neglected, is gradually receiving attention. Steel, in its entire ramification, is regarded as the pivot around which economic activities and development revolve worldwide. Its relevance has universal appeal, but for some inexplicable reasons, Nigeria, despite of it’s gifting in this resource, has not lapped on its advantage. But all that is changing now with steel plants being built all over the country

The Nigerian Carbon Steel Market
welded pipes is the biggest market in Nigeria and the biggest users are the construction industry which consumes about 48% of steel demand in Nigeria, machinery, appliances, furniture and fabrication 34%, oil and gas 18%.

Nigeria’s demand for carbon steel pipes has risen to 1.2 million tons annually. This huge demand is 80% largely met by importation and the rest manufactured by the few available plants in the country. Currently about 700 million Dollars is spent annually on importation of carbon steel pipes in to the country.

The uses

Welded steel pipes are commonly used for furniture and for the building industry. In this respect the demand for smaller size carbon steel pipes and tubes is mainly influenced by the rate of growth of both the Metal craft and furniture and construction sector of the country which this plant is intended to take full advantage of.

The factory will produce carbon steel pipes in the rare specifications as low as For Round Pipe:Φ8—Φ50.8 mm which gives it the added advantage to be used for the growing black furniture and construction industry.

Plant and production Capacity

The capacity of the plant in terms of line speed can vary from 8 to 10 meters per minute. In terms of weight, production capacity reaches between 4 and 10 tons per day based on single shift of 8 hours operation and producing for 275 annual working days,

InvestmentFeasibility Profile On Modern Fully Equiped Mobile Devices Servicing Outlet by easytask(op): 9:27am On Nov 20, 2013
Introduction

The feasibility is on the set up of a modern fully equipped mobile devices (Phones, Tablets etc) service outlet centre with capacity to handle 12,000 devices annually.

The mobile phone and devices density in Nigeria is about 67% with over 20 million Mobile phones and devices actively connected to about a dozen networks. These devices range from Mobile phones, Tablet PC, and Laptops. However our profile is targeted on the mobile phones and tablet pcs.

Mobile Phone as an electronic device used for communication and messaging has become very popular and essential need of the Nigerian society. There are available in Nigeria various make and brands in the market from the popular mtk china phones to the original phones and tablets pcs manufactured by well-known brands like Nokia, Samsung, Htc, Blackberry, Tecno, Zte, Infinix, LG, Sony, etc. .

The mobile phones and devices business environment has created a value chain including sales, repairs, servicing and accessories. This value chain contributed to the growth of Nigerian GDP and the creation of thousands of small and medium businesses which are thriving.

The Opportunity

The envisaged Service outlet will focus on the repair and servicing of mobile devices using complete and modern tools and equipment. Though there are countless mobile devices service Centres spread across, but these are largely small one-man business and at most employing 2 staffs on an un-organized and systemic basis. Our argument is that if you can have organized mobile phone shops like Slots, Micro station, infinix then you can create the same concept but this time around for a mobile device service centre.

This Business if well managed has the potential of opening additional 5 outlets within a year

Though branded companies have service units attached to them but they cannot compete with a full fledge service centre. The demands for repairing of mobile Devices are estimated at 25,000 daily and growing.

Process

Process of Servicing or repairing of mobile phones involves two part, one hardware and the other software . If the fault is related to software the mobile phone is connected to computer vide data cable and necessary repairs is done. The hardware are the one needing replacement of parts or physical parts repairing.

Machinery and Equipment

Some of the machineries and tools needed includes:

SCREW DRIVER SETS

SPANNERS

TRI-WING

BENT PRY TOOL

RESET PIN

2 IN 1 SOLDERING SMD REWORK STATION

DISSECTING MICROSCOPE

HOT AIR SOLDERING SMD REWORK STATION

BusinessProfitable Import/export Agency Business At Home (with Nothing Down) by easytask(op): 4:14pm On Nov 14, 2013
PROFITABLE IMPORT/EXPORT AGENCY BUSINESS AT HOME (With nothing down, low or no start-up cost)

What is a good way to build up a successful business from nothing and have fun doing it? The import/export business may be your answer. Not only does it require little financial investment to start, but also it offers the prestige of working with clients from all over the world.

You don’t need previous experience in the field, but you should have a good head for organizing. Fulfilling a successful import/export business requires constant attention to little details.

Do you know some local manufacturers looking for ways to increase their market for the goods they make? Or are you planning a trip abroad and want to make some contacts for setting up a business?

If you have ability to sell, and an air of diplomacy, the import/export business might be right for you. All you need is the desire and determination to make it work.

The biggest advantage is the money you’ll make. Once you get the business underway, the commission for setting up sales is very profitable. And after you establish and maintain a number of exclusive accounts, you’ll find the time you spend is highly rewarded with money.

HOW IT WORKS

Of all the manufacturers in the Nigeria, only a small percentage distribute goods outside of West Africa. The goods that do find foreign markets are exports. On the other hand, anything that is manufactured outside the country and brought in for sale is imported.

Although it seems obvious that all manufacturers would want a worldwide market, it is not easy for a company that is limited in its scope and abilities. That’s where you come in.

The market is unlimited and there are hundreds of manufacturers looking for foreign distribution. Processed Foods, Shoes, wares, garments, tools -anything can be readily imported or exported if there is a consumer demand and if you can get the products.

THE BASICS

You can start your import/export business at home with a telephone and an internet connection. You’ll need a file system, business cards, and a Computer to browse the internet. Once you get going, you’ll want a Post office Box to receive samples.

ANALYZE THE MARKET

Keep informed. Read everything you can find about world trade. Look at trade publications, international newspapers, newsmagazines, and financial reports. Who is selling what to whom? Although the market for American-made airplanes is sewn up, there are thousands of medium to small sized manufacturers in every state of the union.

WHERE TO FIND HELP

Establish a good business relationship with a local bank that handles international business. Your personal banker will follow through on the actual foreign transactions, and will help keep your credit afloat. In fact, that is one of the best factors about an import/ export business. Aside from office supplies and correspondence, or possible business trips, you need no personal cash outlay. All you need is good credit and a good reputation.

GETTING THE GOODS

There are hundreds of foreign manufacturers with limited distribution looking for an overseas market. Importing their goods is the place to start your business.

You have many selling qualities for convincing the manufacturers to engage you as the sole export agent. You have local contacts and know the demand for specific goods. You will handle the sale, the paperwork, the money, all shipping, customs, and foreign distribution.

TERMS OF SHIPPING

You will become more familiar with the terms of shipping used in quoting prices and delivering goods as you gain experience. Your responsibilities vary with the terms of the agreements and orders. Check with your freight forwarder to be clear about your responsibilities.

PROMOTION

After you have completed a few sales transactions to establish yourself, you’ll need to promote your import/ export business to get more clients. The first transactions give you the experience to learn the ropes of the business, and to establish contacts and agents both here and abroad.

EXPANDING THE BUSINESS

The profit of the import/export business is in the quantity of the goods traded. The higher the cost of the merchandise, the higher the profit from your percentage. Since you need to go through all the steps for each transaction, having more sales on a continual basis simply adds to profit.

If you are ready to put in the time, sell yourself. Start making inquiries and contacts. Try it on for size. Does it feel good? Then MAKE IT SUCCEED.

BusinessSmall Scale Cornflakes Production Pre-feasibility Profile by easytask(op): 2:35pm On Nov 12, 2013
SMALL SCALE CORNFLAKES PRODUCTION PROFILE

Introduction

This project profile is the production of cornflakes in small scale in Nigeria. The project can be planned to produce a minimum of 5 tons of Packed Cornflakes for 275 days in a year in a single or double shifts operating at 70 percent capacity and then at 80 percent in the 2nd year and at 90 percent in the 3rd year.

Currently corn flakes are consumed by a portion of middle and upper income groups of the urban Nigerian population.

Statistics revealed a high demand for cornflakes is increasing in Nigeria.

Production Materials
The major Production materials for the production of corn flakes are maize (hybrid yellow and white corns) which is widely available in the Country. Nigeria Currently produces about 7,700metric tons of maize of which 60% is wasted due to non-preservation. Sugar is another raw material used for the manufacture of corn flakes. Other ingredients including cocoa powder and flavors all of which are widely available in the country.

The appropriate locations for the envisaged project should be nearer to the major corn growing areas or Urban Market.

Production process
The milling process removes the corn kernels from the cobs and turns them into flaking sized 'grits'. Malted barley can be added to enhance the flavor of the Corn Flakes. The corn grits are cooked in steam pressure cookers, at temperatures exceeding 100C. This cooking process lasts for an hour and softens the hard grits. During cooking additional water is incorporated in the form of steam which condenses and the water content in the batch rises to 30-35%. Then the hot grits are transported from the cookers to large driers via the network of pipes. The grits spend several hours in the hot-air driers in order to reduce their moisture content. The corn grits are milled using rollers, which squeeze the grits flat.

The flakes are then tumble toasted in huge cylindrical ovens. The air in the ovens is heated by 600C0 gas flames and the flakes are tossed around in a rotating drum. The drum is angled so that the flakes whirl around and pass through it quite quickly, and stops them spending too long in the fierce heat. The flakes are then coated with chocolate on demand and also sprayed with flavors, minerals to make them as nutritious as possible. The Corn flakes are then bagged up with the help of a bagging machine and ready to sell.

For a larger production capacity the choice of production will require a fully automated system at all steps-in production, packaging and boxing. It is suitable to the largest volume markets that may require exporting to neighboring countries. Nonetheless, for a capacity of production envisaged by the plant under study, such choice of technology is not feasible.

Machinery and Equipment

Storage (Silo)
Mixer
Extruder Cooker
Coating Machine
Storage Bin
Packaging Machine
Laboratory Equipment

Investment Cost
The Plant can be started on a small and medium scale with total cost of setup starting at between 3million Naira and 5 million Naira excluding land and building.

Feasibility Report
The detailed feasibility report, Business Plan or comprehensive pre-feasibility report according to scale of production cover can be made available on request. It will cover all the aspects of the project, from analyzing the market, confirming availability of various necessities such as plant & machinery, raw materials, manufacturing techniques and forecasting financial aspects by estimating the cost of raw material, formulating the income statement, balance sheet and cash flow.

InvestmentFeasibility Profile Of Biscuit Manufacturing In Nigeria by easytask(op):
Introduction
Biscuits are the most consumable wheat-based bakery product. They are highly nutritious, easy to digest, compact in size, can be preserved for a long time and are easily and cheaply transportable over a long distance because of their lightweight.
The feasibility is on the production of 1000KG of biscuits per day working for 8 hrs. daily of 275 days a year.

Trends
The Biscuit industry from available data shows growth at a compound annual growth rate of 2% between 2004 and 2009 and about 10% in 2012. The plain cookies segment led the cookies (sweet biscuits) market in Nigeria, with a share of 96%. Research findings also indicates a gap of 50% supply of local biscuit not met by local producers which is met by smuggling since there are outright ban in importation

The competitive landscape of the biscuit manufacturing sector is interesting and exciting. Biscuits remained dominated by local players in Nigeria and the growth prospects are bright. These can be attested to by moves of foreign companies acquiring local biscuits plant. A typical example is the major South African manufacturer, Tiger Brands acquiring the third ranked player in Nigeria ‘Deli Foods.
Presently, sixteen biscuit manufacturers are operating in the country and the total biscuit consumption is estimated between 450,000 to 500,000 metric tons annually.

MARKET POTENTIAL
With the changing socio-economic environment i.e. increased literacy rate (about 65%), higher per capita income, increase in birth rate, growing number of school children, higher living standard and increased tourist population etc., one can expect at least 20% growth rate in Biscuit production in 2014.
Biscuits will never cease to be a favorite of both the young and the old especially, school children whose parents on the average spend between N10 and N100 daily on the products per child. School time is biscuit time and lunch time snacks.’
Plant Capacity
The plant Production plan is to produce 3 most widely consumed variants of biscuits namely: CRACKER BISCUIT, COASTER CRISPY BISCUIT, and CHOCOLATE SPREAD

The plant will have an installed capacity to produce 200kg of Biscuit per hour. but will produce 1,008kg per day which is about 63% of installed capacity working for a single shift, 8 hours a day, and for 280 days a year, and then will grow annually for 10% until the installed capacity is achieved.

The plant will employ 14 factory workers both skilled and semi-skilled and 9 administrative staffs.

Machinery to used are as follows
1. Flour mixer
2. Rotary forming machine for hard Biscuit
3. Rotary forming machine for soft Biscuit
4. Tunnel Gas Oven
5. Oil Spray machine
6. Cooling conveyor
7. Layout Turning Machine
8. Sandwich machine
