mrofficial:How do you know the project is abandoned? I was travelling from Abuja to the east about a month ago, and we took a road that's very close to some part of this project and I can tell you, the level of work going on there was amazing. All I could hear inside the vehicle, my co-travellers commenting was "Nigeria has not had it this good".. I tried to know the reason for the comment, and a reasonably older man besides me asked me If I had encountered even an ordinary hold up due to bad roads all the way from Abuja, I realized there had been none. Infact the only bad road we had to endure was a diversion because a major highway was being rehabilitated. Please note, I support neither PDP or APC. Just observing |

A Nigerian set to become Italy's next Minister of Defence ... Toni Iwobi Esq., a Nigerian born Italian and current Federal Head of Security and Immigration of LEGA NORD PADANIA (Party), Italy, is set to become the country's next Minister of Defence and Immigration ... This historical feat will materialize if his party does well in the impending elections, as predicted by credible polls. There can be no (mago-mago), meaning manipulation in this matter. Nigerian DNA can excel, make no mistakes about this ... What we require is leadership to create the enabling environment ... According to Guiseppe Garibaldi (1807-1882), soldier, nationalist, patriot, leader and hero of the Italian 'Risorgimento' (Reinassance): "Italia fera da se!" meaning: Italy can make (do) it! I step out boldly to also say Nigeria fera da se! ... Visit www.trendtopix.com Have you obtained your PVC to vote in Nigeria's crucial elections in 30days hence? Please keep striving if you are yet to get yours and help others to spread this pointer: It is your PVC that will count, not social media opinion or on-line voting. God Rules!

It's very obvious that PDP failed wolfly in Abia State. For a better part of the last 8 years that T.A Orji has been in power, it has been decline. This man is the worst Abia can ever have. Trust me, it can't get worse than it already is. Why didn't they take the campaign to Aba, the heart of Abia? They made late minute change of plans and took the rally to little Umuahia because, T.A Orji had never had a single successful public outing in Aba. He almost always gets stoned to death... Abia people will vote PDP for president, but if the election should be free and fair, PDP will be massively floored in Abia. They're a failure in Abia. And GEJ didn't help matters. During his campaign in Aba in 2011, he promised to upgrade Aba to an international industrial city, to produce an aircraft before 2020, looking back now... I guess it was just a political gimmick. Imagine a city where there is no single street light on any single road or street. In fact there is no good single road or single street to install a single streetlight! What kind of place would you call that in this 21st century? Yet, there was/is a governor who gets most of the IGR from Aba. Shame on T.A. Abians will vehemently reject his sinister plans to impose his criminal son as Abia House Speaker, his wife as commissioner, His good for nothing friend as governor and himself as senator. A common thief that was brought out of Kirikiri by his predecessor Orji Kalu, brushed up and installed as governor. He said he rescued Abia from the tyranny of Orji Kalu and his mother, even though we saw no evidence of a shift in ideas, he now wants to plunge Abia into the hands if a greater tyranny in the person of his son 'Ikuku' (Wind) and other cohorts. Rubbish! Visit http://www.trendtopix.com/opinions/ for more |

The Federal Government has released the sum of N3 billion for disbursement to victims of the 2011 post-election violence in Kaduna State. Governor Mukhtar Yero made the disclosure on Saturday at the 40th anniversary of the Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Shehu Idris, on the throne, held at the Emir’s palace, Zaria, Kaduna State. Governor Yero, said the money which was already in the coffers of the state government will soon be disbursed to the affected victims accordingly. He stressed the need for people to live in peace with one another to enable government at all levels to provide the dividend of democracy to the electorate. The 40th coronation anniversary of Alhaji Shehu Idris, who ascended the throne of his forefathers in 1975 is marked with the traditional Durbar. The ceremony starts with the arrival of different traditional dance groups and district heads of the various ruling houses in the emirate. Praise-singers and drummers herald the arrival of the emir of and other district heads. Riding on coloured horses, they made their way into the arena in company of their followers and different dance groups. With the arrival of the special guest of honour, Vice President Namadi Sambo and the host Governor, Muhktar Yero, the occassion commenced. Other dignitaries at the event include the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Abubakar Sa’ad, the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi, Etsu Nupe, Yahaya Abubakar and a host of other traditional rulers and politicians. In its turbulent half-century of independence, Nigeria has experienced not only a brutal civil war, but also an unprecedented wave of insurgnency that has left thousands of people dead. Throughout this period, one institution that has played an important stabilising role has been that of the traditional rulers of kingdoms large and small across the country. While congratulating the emir for attaining 40 years on the throne, Governor Yero attributed the success recorded by the emirate to patience, fairness, justice and truthfulness. He also advised all candidates and electorate not to see the forthcoming election as a do-or-die affair. Former Minister of Defense, General Theophilus Danjuma in his good will message called for stronger collaboration between the political class and traditional rulers in the country towards improving the fallen standard of education in the country. He noted that education of the youths will not only reduce the high level of illiteracy and unemployment in the country, but will also help in fighting insurgency, social injustice and other criminal activities across the country, adding that the education backwardness of the north is totally unacceptable and poses a threat to the corporate existence of the region and Nigeria as a whole. Responding, the Emir of Zazzau who spoke in Hausa language, appreciated God for sparing his life to witness what he described as a “memorable and historic occasion”. He admonished Nigerians to embrace one another and always preach peace to pave way for sustainable growth and development. The occasion featured a colourful durbar by District Heads and other traditional title holders. http://www.trendtopix.com/fg-releases-funds-for-compensation-for-victims-of-2011-post-election-violence/
