Evaberry:
The Quran actually allow men to beat their wives so this is no biggie for them and bauchi practices Sharia law. Quran 4:34. Quran38":44 amongst others

but seriously how can a man inflict pain on someone he claims to love
The mother of his children
someone who he vowed to take care of and protect against all odd

why are some men domestic abusers and why do others think it's cool to hit a woman if she misbehaves
I know I must see a dumb comment like this.
So all those Christian couples involved in domestic violence must be following those Qura'nic verses right?
There are far more cases of domestic violence in noj-Muslim homes.
Granted it's permissible to strike one"s spouse just like you do kids, only when it's considered the only means for correction after exhausting other options but it comes with guidelines and no-go areas of which this fool has clearly violated.

You can't compare new and used.
The only reason people go for used stuff is if they dont have enough money. So if you have enough money go for brand new one.
Wrong section though .

I think it's up to the rest of us Nigerians to let whoever wants to secede to do so, because you can't force patriotism.
Not that we hare Igbos and we intend to kick them out, but since that's what they want, they should take their 5 states and go.

USA don't believe in any emir or sultan, they are not tribalistic. there hiring doesn't base on nepotism. They didn't voted for Trump or Hillary because they are from one particular region unlike Nigeria. they don't display tribalism in choosing one who is fit for an office. Yoruba's voted for osinbajo, not because he was fit but because of tribalism, Hausa and fulani voted for buhari, not because he was fit but because of tribalism, the Igbo and the ss voted for gej because of tribalism. this tribalistic behaviour has been in our blood since from 1908, it is in our DNA and it can t go away. if we are one, there wouldn't have been any need of sending army who from the ss and se to the north and west and west and not to the south, why this because they feel like if the ss serve there they will pardon their brothers, but if we send northerners, won't b any pardon, they will kill them as we command. in recruiting, the same tribalism is also display,an Hausa man will give his brother all the top positions because he is from the north and they shared the same believe. have you ever heard that america zone their president to a particular region and Senate president and vice president to one region? have you ever heard anything like america northern forum? we can't move along, there is no unity and even the person preaching about unity today, is the most tribalistic human in Nigeria. the only solution is to divide..
Unfortunately for you the only American history you know started with Obama and ended with Trump.
Many people voted for Obama simply because he was black.
Mtsweewww I don't have your time please. Go and read about the American Civil war and it's aftermath.

england is develop, because, she was built on the same ideology, culture and same believe likewise USA. Nigeria can't move forward, because, we don't share the same ideology, culture and religion. Hausa man only believe what his king tells him. Hausa man when in position will exhibits some nepotistic attitude, always try to help people from his region and who share the same value with him and will never help you base on merit like wise the other regions. if we can't place the right people at the right place base on merit, how then will this country move forward? this has being within us and its part of us, it can never go away, this country can never change. the only solution is disintegration. every body need to go their ways. 2015 election proved it. a country of over 160 millions people, who claimed to be the most educated black men in Africa electing an illiterate to rule them, not because he was qualified, but because he is from a particular region who shared the same value.
USA is moving forward today because they shared the same value, like wise Germany, turkey, england, France. their final decision do not come from their leaders, but they decide for their self.

Who told you all this crap? Stop displaying your ignorance regarding world history.
The US you so love to worship is more diverse than Nigeria.

Kudos OP you try putting this together as a non-Hausa person.
Though there are some corrections like "Na gani ina so" which literally translates to "I saw and I like (the bride to be)"
Rub'u Dinar is also a teem to describe minimum "sadaki" which is the dowry and it's mostly given during exchange of vows on the wedding day.
And so on... I wish you sought contribution from Hausawa before you conclude.
All the nice thread. We appreciate it.

Driving the point home...if you have made up your mind to invest in e.g. Real Estate and you have the choice of either building in your home state capital vs Lagos, which will you choose?

I don't know about you, but my choice is obvious and that is Lagos...and that choice is backed by many sound and logical reasons, including vital and strategic ones.
OGA this is not his personal money to invest on a profitable venture o! It's people's money, and the primary purpose state funds shall serve isn't to generate profit, but to make life easier for people of the state.

Education › Re: 2017/2018 PTDF Scholarship Scheme (Overseas And Local) by EazyMoh(m): 3:23pm On Aug 22, 2017
Two years ago Dangote recruited 50 Engineers for their refinery strictly based on merit after rigorous tests of candidates from all over the country.
A very close freind of mine is among the best 50 finalists recruited.
Out of those 50 14 were northerners while 36 southerners. That's 72-28 South-North ratio.
This supports my theory that 80-20 shall be the worst case, but a situation where 100 candidates are selected based on academic merit and that nobody from the north made it to the top 100 is impossible; and to believe that fallacy is simply myopic.
Education › Re: 2017/2018 PTDF Scholarship Scheme (Overseas And Local) by EazyMoh(m): 3:11pm On Aug 22, 2017
I didn't want comment before simply because of the respect I have for Dmainman.
That Scholarship was simply meant for the best among the best, which was why federal character was jettisoned in order not compromise on the quality of the scholars.
Unfortunately, the procedure was abused as evident in the same links Dmainman posted. For example the main issue of complain by NA and ACF was that candidates from the north didn't make it past shortlisting for the CBT stage.
For the first two sets, not a single northerner was selected. The third and final list had only seven candidates from the entire north out of 103 nationwide.
After in queries and investigations it was discovered that preference was given to graduates from private schools at the initial shortlisting stage. This caused the significant decline of candidates from the north imply because a very tiny fraction of northerners attend private schools. But not that the southerners out-perform the northerners 100 to 0!
So it was believed that private school attendance requirement (and other hidden criteria) at the initial shortlisting stage were intentionally devised to shortchange the north. Especially since the main principal players (the then president, SGF, minister of education, NUC DG et al) were southerners.
We do know that the south is ahead of the north academically. Among the about 100 candidates in every batch, it's believable at worst to have 80-20 south-North. But in first two cases it was 100-0 and then 96-7 in the final batch.

Dear PTDF Scholarship Hopefuls,

I don't understand why everyone is saying those that wrote the exam by 11AM has undue advantage. I wrote mine in Lagos JKK Building around 12noon and I didn't see any question. No expo whatsoever... I didnt even go to the exam venue with my phone. I was confused when I read here that all those that wrote 11am have seen the questions. Someone even said they should add extra marks to the 8am batch. We know this is a competition, I did my own underground research and studied past questions.

I have some pertinent questions to ask now that we are not sure what is happening to the list...

1. In my office, if anyone is going on study leave, one must inform the management at least TWO MONTHS before the commencement of your studies. Now that we are resuming in September, I have my CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) already from UCL (University College London) and I just got an email from UCL to proceed on my BRP (Bio-metric Residence Permit). No need for ATAS Certificate for my course. I just pray they release the list as early as possible for us to know the next step.

2. About the payment of Tuition fee, someone told me PTDF will pay during induction, I need an enlightenment on this from past scholars. Is the letter of award enough for the schools to allow us attend lectures?

3. I have a friend who is a Chevening Scholar in UCL, she said accommodation is London is over 800 Pounds. I want to know how we can survive with this stipend since the stipend for London PTDF scholars is 600 Pounds. Please am not sure about these figures. I just need a clear and concise advice.

4. If we are paying for our transport fare from Lagos to Abuja for Induction, will PTDF give us Tfare to back to Lagos?

All I know is that God will crown our efforts...

Looking forward to sharing my testimonies here...

KeepingTheHopeAlive

#TeamPTDF OSS 2017... #TeamONDO
Well to answer some of your questions, No school jokes with PTDF scholars, therefore an award from PTDF is enough proof for the school to allow you resume study.
About the stipend, PTDF is among the top scholarships with the highest stipends in the world. About £34k is budgeted for each OSS MSc. scholar. So the renumeration is enough for you to live above average campus life. Only problem is that payments may usually not arrive when you need them most.
I don't want post figures because am not sure.
I'd advise you go ahead and inform your work place for your plan to travel, that's if it's not going to cause problem if you don't get to go for the studies (God forbid).
All the best.
