Labour Party's presidential candidate, Peter Obi said that he is going to deal with security issues decisively and he will never reveal to the public how he will do it, if he becomes president of Nigeria, IGBERETV reports.

Peter Obi said this today, when he was interviewed by Rufai Oseni on Arise TV's program, 'The Morning Show'.

While recalling that America recently alerted her citizens living in Nigeria of security threat in Nigeria, Rufai asked Peter Obi how he will deal with such a threat, if he were to be Nigeria's president.

Replying Rufai, Obi said;

“Even with a gun on my head, I can't give you details of how I will deal with security issues. If, I tell you, it won't work."

I will be the Commander In Chief of the armed forces and I will deal with these issues decisively”

I’m Not Born Again, I Don’t Forgive Or Turn Other Cheek For Another Slap – Wike (Video)

The governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has said that he is not a born-again Christian and would retaliate on those who attack him, IGBERETV reports.

Wike made this statement during the birthday celebration of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State.

While describing Ikpeazu as “a quiet man who observes the Bible verse that when ‘they slap you, turn the other cheek’, the Rivers State governor said he would retaliate rather than turn the other cheek if anybody slapped him. Wike said he would blow off the head of anybody who slaps him.

“Ikpeazu is a quiet man and a born-again Christian; I’m not a born-again Christian. I’m a Christian but not a born-again Christian.

The founder of Omega Fire Ministries, Johnson Suleman, has spoken after surviving an armed attack in Auchi, Edo State on Friday 21st October 2022, IGBERETV reports.

In a video shared on his church's TV social media pages, Suleman said he knew those behind the attack but won't be mentioning them.

In his words;

"I just escaped an assassination attempt where seven people were killed. They opened fire on my car. My wife and my kids were there. The escort car with police, they killed the policemen. They killed the other people in the escort car, the bus, that were with us. They killed seven people.

"People who did this are expecting me to come out and mention their names, so they can come out and deny it but I won't do that. The truth of the matter is, you can't kill me, my life is in the hand of God, I'm a man of God."

A woman has been caught on camera assaulting a policeman in the FESTAC area of Lagos, IGBERETV reports.

The woman shouted in the face of the policeman and held his uniform, angry that he had threatened to shoot her.

There was mild commotion at Tree of Life Bible Church in Warri, Delta State, on Sunday, September 11, after a group of police officers allegedly disrupted an ongoing service to enforce an arrest, IGBERETV reports.

It was gathered that the officers who stormed the church at about 10:30 am and repeatedly shot into the air which made the congregation to run for their lives.

According to a source, “Some police men came to my church, to make an illegal arrest, they were not wearing uniform, but they came with a police van. They were shooting into the air inside the church, while service was still on.

We almost lost a child who is asthmatic, he went into shock hearing the sound of the gun.”

Narrating why police invaded the church, the source said: “The girl who invited the police has issue with one of the church members. It was not a robbery case, neither was it a kidnapping case or any of such.

It was a simple business misunderstanding and instead of waiting for church to close or even call the attention of the church leader, they came in to forcefully drag the member out, and while at it, began to shoot and scare people. Making old women and children panic for no reason.”

A woman who got too close to a monkey in a zoo got the shock of her life when the mammal grabbed her phone and refused to give it back, IGBERETV reports.

The woman was visiting a zoo in Burundi when she let her guards down and the money pounced on her phone.

The monkey then dragged the phone against the iron bars of its enclosure as it jumped around.

When zoo staff finally got the phone from the monkey, it had done major damage to it.

The damaged phone was returned to the lady and she left with her male companion.

Osun policemen protest non-payment of their salaries, accuse Okada riders of sleeping with their wives

No fewer than 480 police constabularies have protested the alleged non-payment of their 18-month salary in Osun, IGBERETV reports.

The constabularies recruited to complement the police structure by providing intelligence, among others were inaugurated in May 2021 at Police Headquarters, Osun State after their training in April 2021.

The protesting officers who were in their uniforms, converged on the Old-Garage area, marching through Oke-Fia, Alekuwodo before storming the Ola-Iya flyover to press home their demands.

They carried placards with several inscriptions such as: ‘Pay our salary now’; ‘Okada riders are sleeping with our wives’, ‘Pay us our 18-month salary’, ‘pay us’, ‘Our Stipends And Allowances’ and ‘18 months without kobo’ among others.

One of the leaders of the protesting policemen, Constable Tijani Adewale, said despite the non-payment of salaries they are committed to duties stressing that amid their predicament three Constabularies died while on duty. He lamented commercial tricyclists and motorcyclists have snatched their wives due to their inability to provide for them and their children.

“We have gone to the local government, honourable and dignitaries in the state yet no positive result. We lost three persons in Ikire and one in Iree. These people died in the course of discharging their duty.

We are very dutiful even though we have not been paid a dime. Due to unpaid allowances, tricycle and Okada riders have snatched our wives because of their inability to take care of them.” he said

Osun Police Commissioner Olawale Olokode later joined them at the Ola-Iya bridge and ordered them to stop the protest immediately. He assured them that the concerned authorities will intervene in the matter to solve their plights.

“You are embarrassing the force with your protest. You should have channelled your grievances to the appropriate quarters. You are disturbing public peace with this your protests. As far as you are wearing this uniform, we expect you to maintain high discipline as a force man” he said
