Hi boss! Please i need you to tutor mi on the processes in involved in the whole journey of schooling aboard.

My brother just got his F1 form today.
He then called mi to ask for his visa fee (64k).
On the form the earliest admission date is 10th of December.
And the earliest interview date we can get from the embassy now is 20th if not beyond.
Please, i would like to confirm if we should go ahead for the visa fee payment. Thanks

HI TWOODS

I have always been a silent follower of nairaland cos I come here to get information concerning things am really skeptical about.
Someone told me of Harrisburg University and i decided to search it here before I stumbled on this post.
I graduated with a Total CGP 3.45, BSc Mass Communication 2010, 29yrs, been workingwith a telecommunication company for 6 years now.
I want to apply for Masters in Project Management at any affordable university in USA that has a recognized financial tracking aid, that doesn't require me writing GMAT/GRE as an international student.
I have searched and searched for schools but am unable to see any that doesn't require GMAT/GRE I don't know if it's a most I have to write the test?
Please am new in this USA thread, I need your help cos it seems you have an idea of good Schools please help a sister. I sent you PM please check you email.
Looking forward to your response.
Thank you.

You can check out North Eastern University, Boston. No GRE and no application fee but very competitive

good morning house. i got admission to ETSU and i have a baby of 1year and some months.pls i want to know whether i will take her along during my visa interview or what is the procedure i need to follow is allow her come with me.thanks

@gustavo, ur baby needs to be added as dependant on ur i20. if already added, there is nothing wrong in going with your baby.
You have to take her along for F2 visa but during payment at GTB you can indicate F1 if they tell u they dont know abt F2 category

Visa Approved today at Lagos Embassy
My appreciation goes to all my MTSU alumni friends (Phakus, Kenkool) and The Monikers in the House for contributing immensely on this thread. The Good Lord will continue to bless you all and your household.
I got to the embassy about 5.57am with my wife to support me with prayers while am in, both of us are pressed and we want to wee. The hustler boys said to wee is N100/person that for me I can do it by the river side and still pay the money, I said no wahala. Sorry all that I still fall for the hustlers who said I will be needing the coloured copy of my passport data page and is N1, 000 which I negotiated to N500 (Not needed pls). They assisted in stapling my document.
The Transcript goes thus, conversation with a white guy in mid-30’s window 2
VO: Good Morning
Me: Good Morning Sir, How was night?
VO: Great, Pass me your Passport and I-20
Me: I Obliged
VO: why are you going to the US?
Me: Am going to the US for Masters in Engineering Technology at Middle Tennessee State University (vo cuts)
VO: How do you hear about the course?
Me: A senior colleague who is an alumnus of the school in my company advised me to go for the course since am aspiring to become a Manager in my current workplace.
VO: when did you finish your first degree?
Me: 2009
VO: And you did your 1 year NYSC
Me: That’s correct
VO: So what have you being doing since then?
Me: I work with XXXX Networks Ltd for three (3) year as field Service Engineer where I deploy VSAT and Radio technology for internet services. I was promoted as Team lead and that is the post I maintain till date. And now anticipating to be a manager in my company that is the more reason why am going for this program.
VO: Do you take any test and what is your score?
Me: Yes, I took GRE and my score is 290 Q=150 V=140 writing 3.5
VO: Tell me about Engineering Technology
Me: It incorporate courses like Six Sigma, Project Management and Safety planning
VO: But the course are management courses not technical?
Me: Yes they are. As am aspiring to be a manager to understand six sigma for organizational process and also safety planning so that my field Engineers will be safety conscious. That is also one of the reason why I chose the school which has these combined courses.
VO: So the school teach Six Sigma?
Me: Yes, is part of the courses.
VO: How do you want to finance your study?
Me: I have a tuition waiver and monthly stipend offered to me by my department
VO: Ooh. I did not see that earlier on your I-20 (He looks at the I-20 again and also saw dad as the sponsor though I filled self in Ds-160)
VO: What qualifies you for the tuition waiver?
Me: I had a CGPA of 3.5 of 4.0 scale and my Statement of Purpose explain in detail my intent.
VO: Ooh that’s great.
VO: what does your dad do?
Me: He has a big Farm.
VO: I will be approving your visa, take your I-20 you will need it at port of entry, pick up your passport in the next 3 business day.
I thank Almighty Allah for his grace and favour, for the courage, confidence and the ability to articulate my point. I was the 20th on the queue and when I started seeing blue paper I forgot everything I planned to say and was like God I know you are there watching and will change the story when it get to my turn.
My advice to the prospecting applicant, understand the whole process of your application, understand your courses and most importantly be able to explain why you have chosen the school and the courses.
Please the Research thing has cast, soft pedal on it VO are now particular about your course of study.
Goodluck and let’s keep the traveling transcript Loading.

Hello VO,

IF a spouse is applying for student visa F1 and dependents added on the i20,

is it mandatory for dependents (other spouse and Kids) to change there B1B2 visa to F2 since they are not going to stay permanently with the spouse.

Are they suppose to apply for visa together with the F1 if above is yes

if one of the kid is a USA citizen, should he/she be added as dependents during VISA application

Thanks

Dear VO, pls I need your advice.

My husband and I have yrs of work experience and traveled to the US in 2014 to have our baby and just renewed our B1B2 visa in march 2017.
Now we plan to go study in Spring 2018 in the US. We both have our admission letter and attending the same school. so this means that we will both be applying for F1 VISA INDIVIDUALLY .

My Concerns:
Should we apply together as a family or individually
The significant ties we have in home country is Land and House assets
How do we convince the vo that we would be returning after our studies since we r going together with the kids
Finance is from our joint savings and proceed from property sold which covers for a year

we both want to further our education to be more relevant in the labour market.....kindly advise

i just got this mail from Dr. la WHMC

Thank you for your email. As far as pricing goes, assuming you are pregnant with a single fetus and have a vaginal delivery, you should expect to pay: $3340 (Dr. La)*, $2500 (Hospital), $200 (Pathology) and $500 (Pediatrician) OR a total of $6540. If you decide to use anesthesia/epidural, add an additional $1200 to the total cost. The hearing test for the baby is optional but if you decide to do this, add $326 to the total cost. Both anesthesia and the baby’s hearing test is optional.

** This price could change if you are pregnant with twins or come before 36 weeks or are pregnant with a son and wish to have him circumcised. I can’t give you a more accurate price until I know your history. However, a 36 week ultrasound is $150; circumcision is $325.

I hope this provides you with the information you are requesting. Let me know if you need additional information. And, I’ll be looking to receive your OB Questions.

Have a good day,
Sheri
