u3fine: By the special grace of God January 2021 will not pass me. I've completed my TEFL course on-line and all other requirements are available now except the police and medical which I intend doing in December due to the 6 months validity after which I will authenticate. I've started applying for jobs already and getting both negative and positive response. Most said I should get back to them when the boarders are open. I am also looking at China to teach because they pay more than in Vietnam. At Whyna inspired me to take this part in leaving this country and start globe trotting via teaching English abroad with lots of opportunities.
Thank to the merciful God for healing your mum. Pls sir how much did it cost you for the TEFL online course..I want to have a budget as to what to save...secondly can u recommend the site u used? Thank you |

Soknown: The new Health and Care Visa for foreign medical workers will open for applications on 4 August 2020, the government has announced.
The visa is not a new route as such, but a species of Tier 2 (General) visa — the announcement comes in a new Part A to the Tier 2 policy guidance, added on 14 July. It is also misnamed in the sense that it is only for “qualified doctors, nurses and allied health professionals who have been trained to a recognised standard” — not for care home workers. The full list of eligible professions is:
2112 – Biological scientists and biochemists 2113 – Physical Scientists 2211 – Medical Practitioners 2212 – Psychologists 2213 – Pharmacists 2214 – Ophthalmic Opticians 2215 – Dental practitioners 2217 – Medical Radiographers 2218 – Podiatrists 2219 – Health Professionals not elsewhere classified 2221 – Physiotherapists 2222 – Occupational Therapists 2223 – Speech and Language Therapists 2229 – Therapy professionals not elsewhere classified 2231 – Nurses 2232 – Midwives 2442 – Social Workers 3213 – Paramedics
Tier 2 Policy Guidance, Paragraph A3 To be eligible for a Health and Care Visa, the worker must be offered one of the above jobs, either for an NHS trust / health board or for one of several other medical and social care organisations listed in the guidance, and meet all the usual Tier 2 (General) criteria.
Reduced application fees are promised. The fees table has not yet been updated to say what they are, but the basic application fee has previously been reported as £464. Applicants should also be exempt from the Immigration Health Surcharge.
New NHS visa announced | Free Movement A promising idea in many ways, but it is laughable that NHS workers from overseas still have to pay a surcharge ...
Decisions are to be fast-tracked, “with the aim that the vast majority are processed within three weeks”. Which kind yeye course did I study....anatomy has finished me....u hardly find anatomy in any job vacancy be it public or private in Nigeria... Now look at these ...no recognition of an anatomist |

@crushsugar pls I want to ask a question or better still seek your opinion following the part of nursing,I have found out that going through jamb, post ume is one process I'm scared about especially in aspect of ASUU strike et al.
Then school of nursing the rigidity is much,u must live in the school premises if you are single...its not going to be easy as I still need to hustle to foot my bills.
so I googled, and read that one can go for nursing through post graduate studies although I saw just two schools that do that for now.. please what do you think,is it advisable doing a PGD in nursing, can it fetch me a job in the UK, can it also fetch me a job here in Nigeria (federal hospital job),
Pls advise ma |

As someone who will be going back to school to study Nursing in their 30s, this was really encouraging and so far an enjoyable read. Thanks for taking time out of your I'm sure, very busy schedule to document your experience in detail and very articulately. Will be following. pls are you going through school of nursing or the university? |

Ufemia26: Congratulations Ma. Can i get some advice from nurse professionals here? I have an intention to go back and study nursing, this is after 4 years of graduating with bsc biochemistry from uniport. However, right now i am confused as i don't know if it is much better enrolling to school of Nursing or the University. The fear of ASUU strike scares me from choosing the latter as i am in my late twenties and i wouldn't want to spend extra years. Studying abroad is no bread and butter as it involves much financial commitment which i can't afford. If not, that option would have been the best for me. I want to know if obtaining RN after 3 years at SON guarantees one of getting a job outside Nigeria. How far with your plans, have you picked a form yet for school of nursing? I made enquiries about the school fees...its something else |

Education › Re: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by EbonyCy(f): 7:04pm On Oct 08, 2019 |
Enskynelson: Most School of Nursing don't offer you Degree in Nursing. It's like a diploma although still enough to get you registered as a Nurse. So, NOUN offers you Bachelor Degree in Nursing and not Diploma in Nursing. For now, for you to be admitted into the programme, you must have diploma in Nursing and must be a registered Nurse. Success bro. So I should go to school of nursing first for 3years before I can be given admission in noun? |
