Please I need some piece of advice concerning the next step to take. I'll be graduating from Nursing School by May and I'm weighing my options;
- Getting my bsc through direct entry. (4 years)
- Acquiring my RM certificate through post basic midwifery ( 1yr 6mths) and use the time to get prepared financially for the transition process.
Honestly, the thought of spending for another 4 years in a Nigerian university is terrifying, considering the hassles attached to it.
Please, I need a second opinion. Your response will be really appreciated.

If I were to be you I won't bother about bsc, even the 1yr6mths RM I won't do it rather I source for a job with my RN save money,do businesses save more money... Cos that money I will use and pay for RM go reach to write IELTS first...
My opinion ooo...
NGO's should be your main target they pay their nurses well than some private hospitals

Thank you ma'am. Someone warned me off that I f Nigerian army, so I went for Luth, and I got it.

Classes haven't started in earnest due to covid 19, but we are resuming fully before the end of this month...

For the cost, I've spent nothing less than ₦400k (school fees, miscellaneous, and other items we were told to buy). This excludes my personal belongings and pocket money..

Please can I get your whatsapp contact...I really need to ask you some questions relating to entrance exams and interviews.. I intend picking a form this year

Good morning ma'am, I've just gotten admission into a reputable school of nursing in Nigeria. My uncle that lives in the US for the more than 25years has called me to congratulate me for this feat, hence, he promised that I'd soon come and join him in the US soon...

Even though I will be writing my ielts exams by 2023, I'd be preparing myself from now. Physically and mentally.

But my fear is that, with all I've read on this thread, how will traveling to USA as a fresh nurse be feasible?

Thanks ma in anticipation for your response

Wow...congrats on your admission...if I'm not mistaken you were the one who was looking at luth and army sch of nursing abi?
Which did you later get?
How are you coping so far with classes ?
Please how much do far did it cost you for beginning?

Please approach these alleged teaching opportunities with extreme caution. Scrutinize everything.

I don't want to discourage anyone trying to improve their life, but Asia is not a land of opportunity.

Statements like "we don't hire unless you're physically here" are suspect.

You must also understand that Asians seek out whites (even non-native speakers with an accent) to teach English. They often don't care about qualifications and will fabricate them. In those cases, a person can get a job just by going there. I cannot say the same for Nigerians.

Many parents will want to see a white face teaching because they're not intelligent enough to understand qualified teachers can be any race, including their own people. Many schools, for example, will not hire Asian Americans. Some parents also sign up their children for English instruction in the same way they send them for piano lessons. They don't care whether they learn English, they simply want to say the child is receiving the training, and they also want to say a white foreigner is providing it.

You also have to understand that these people (even the educated) are extremely ignorant. This means that they often aren't intelligent enough to even understand/accept you're no different from any other qualified candidate. They may even think you're another race because you're educated. That's how stupid they are.

So in a nutshell sir?

No. TEFL is a must and different from IELTS. IELTS is optional but there are plans to make it compulsory for non-natives. Don't know how strict this would be

Haaa...they shouldn't make IELTS compulsory o biko

Hi,

There's no format per say. Just follow these guidelines...

1) Put your picture at the top right corner next to your personal details.

2) Work experience comes next. Experiences related to teaching should be listed out first. Then others can follow if any.

3) Then education. Here you include both degrees, TEFL, and Msc if any

These are the 3 most important things. One page is enough. These three are all they need.

Others are just jara

Thank you so much ma'am
