Had a similar episode. Same corolla. This time the 2011 model. Guy had a death wish. From ph to warri, this guy refused to budge. Even at speeds exceeding 170. I'd see him as soon as I slow down at any check point. He took bends like he was insane. Couldn't keep up with him on the bends after he passed. Those corollas are nimble and fast. Damn.
On a straight line, I kept him in check but not at the bends .
I let him be though as I have family waiting back home. Not worth the hassle.

Mercedes sedans are built for luxury and they have sluggish transmissions with rev limiter
Except for the Amg variants
They're also heavy
Toyotas are very light
They're not built for speed that's why a Corolla 2003-2007 has 180 on the speedo
But they're very quick cos of weight and wonderful engines.
On a long stretch, your 320 will leave Camry and Corolla far behind that's speed (fast)
On bad roads and places where you have to slow down
Toyota go leave you for back
That's agility and quickness

M111 was discontinued in 2003. It was in use in the C class from W202 to W203, until 2004 when M271 was introduced.
