Some of us learn by experience. Believe there is solution to every problem. Someone somewhere should have an average knowledge of Passage parasitic drain. Gazzuzz may too even though it's an unsupported brand. That's why this is cartalk, to assist each other as Nigerians. What do a 'local'man know!

My brother you see parasitic drain? That sh*t will make you run mad overnight. There are a lot of things that can cause it, the easiest approach is full disclosure from the affected person (what was done before this happened), I've had a parasitic drain before on my 01 Clk 230K, it was easy for me to diagnose because I recalled the last thing that was done before the problem started (was on a journey and my fan and horn failed simultaneously due to an electrical short circuit. Turned off the car, hopped on a bike, looked for the nearest kazeem electrician I could find, his first response was "oga na only Japanese I specialise on, but my guy for the next village dey work German", onward ever- the German kazeem came and said fan was bad, this and that, i told him to run a wire directly from the Positive terminal to the fan as a fail-safe so it could stay on long enough to complete my journey, I stroll enter one buka dey down one or two bottles of fresh palm wine and meat by the time I returned, he has even repaired my horn by interconnecting a series of relays here and there - I simply laughed and continued my journey. On retuning to civilization, I restored the original wiring for the fan but forgot the contraption inside the fuse box - every morning na so I go dey borrow battery to start motor, I no dey lock the Benz because e no go recognize key the next morning based on say battery don die. All these while, I conveniently forgot about that contraption in the fuse box because it was easy to just pick a battery from the generator to start the car. Until the day someone stole the Generator battery, I finally decided to ask my old boy for help. He asked me one question, and my brain rebooted - we just had to revert to factory settings immediately. Yours, will involve more than using a multimeter to test fuses and relay after turning off the engine and waiting for all the electrical consumers to enter deep sleep, but it's worth giving a short.

I lost my "running board" to flood. Went to Ikoku to buy a replacement walked the length and breadth of the market and couldn't find it. What I kept hearing was, Oga, no worry, we go work am. I wouldn't have any of that.

I called my contacts in Lagos and it took one week before the replacement was seen and delivered.

Its all fun driving a unique vehicle and turning heads till you have a part to replace and all you hear is, Oga, this one too go work, we go work am or you contact that other Oga and he says vehicle not supported in my workshop

Just got a W204, 2010. I just discovered my Comand screen is blank. It will pop out at start up, show the Benz logo and fold back in again. Radio and CD all work with good sound, but the display shows nothing. I am left with figuring things out using the multimedia display on the instrument cluster. Anyone knows how I can fix this thing out?

Secondly, while driving this morning, a message cam one the instrument screen, 'Check Engine Oil at Nexr Refueling'. What could this mean? Oil level seem ok temperature is just at the 90 degree mark too.

Check with a dip stick to be sure that you're not running your engine with the oil a quartz or two low. Let the car sit for a while on a flat surface before checking the oil level either using the instrument cluster or a traditional dipstick. I'm not ruling out the possibility of a sensor going bad, but Mercedes Benz V6 engines are notorious for burning oil.
