My partner feels it's not worth it so I've put it on ice. It's a project I will do when I have some spare cash to spend on an experiment. I'll post the update on this thread.

I like the determination bro, don't want to rain on your parade but don't you think choosing an IS and upgrading drive shafts, a couple engine bay modifications, ECU and a proper transmission will be far easier and more reliable as a daily driver?

It'll feel like you're about to die.

Very similar to those who put an LS in a Miata. A Camry is a much better idea. Also, find out if those transmissions are able to handle that much torque .

Bro, I sometimes travel a lot with a Corolla over distances of 640 kms (Calabar to Ogoja and fro) - once I approach 150-180 kmph (very easy to do on long stretch roads) there's that vague steering response that jolts me back to the reality of what I'm driving, and immediately I always apologize to my trusty vehicle for making it do things it wasn't built for. And this is happening with a puny engine, I can't wait to imagine what all that high end torque will do to a Camry's delicate transmission or lazy drive shafts, much less a Corolla's.

Hi ivoryhouse - whatever happened to this idea? Keen to learn how over 400 horses in a lightweight Corolla chassis will feel like.

You're very petty. Are you seriously advising him to switch from mineral to synthetic in order to spite Gaz? We both know it's only a matter of time before that abused engine dies a slow and painful death at the hands of those detergents.

Thinking of getting one this December for my upcoming farm project. Thinking of Ram 1500 or the Ford F150. Any decent 1/2 ton truck that isn't as expensive as Toyota's offerings will do.

Because it is a Jap! He probably made a mistake and uploaded a wrong picture. This F150 is powered by either an Essex v6 or a Triton v8.

which car are you driving? I’d think twice before racing a 350 in traffic.

A 5.7L Dodge Charger Lx. I'll win in straights, but he'll catch up on corners, and there are lots of them on the road he wanted to set me up in. Which means there's a high probability he'll win whenever i brake to take corners.

Ur a wicked soul. In this lock down Era, t-fare to Ondo alone is 4k (to) not to talk of Abuja. What abt the risk involved, what u people don't know is this once ur being smart with this people, they will just damage ur car with rough driving but encourage them so that they can deliver ur car safe & sound. Left to me, 50k is fine.

Have you actually moved a car in this lockdown? Do you think the NPF especially are playing on the road? You won't go very far without the 3-5k vehicle border crossing payment. Count how many states and advice the OP accordingly. Got into Benue from Cross River and even with essential duty tags, I had to talk to the men in black in the language they understood to facilitate the process of validating my vehicle to move on time.

First thread I open after a brief hiatus and the usual display of naivety is in full force.

You've bought a car worth a couple millions at the very least and yet can't commit proper money for delivery. Fueling alone for a V6 engine from Lagos to Abuja is 16-20k (I know this first hand) ,depending on the driver's foot, and boy - their feet are heavy!

Settling police alone in this lockdown (to allow you border entry from state to state) will cost a little more than 40k, again first hand experience - my sister just brought in a Camry, Lagos to Calabar.

Customs are a whole different matter, will definitely stop you along the way - unless you have at least a DSC on speed dial, keep aside 30-40k in this lockdown.

We've not talked about the drivers payment or feeding or accommodation and you're negotiating 50k. The mistake you're making is thinking because the driver is a police man, all will be well and smooth - he will park your car on the Express with his colleagues and you'll pay that balance by hook or by crook.

NPF - Nigerian Police Farce

You give fully automatic rifles to lazy, ill-trained, underpaid, demotivated and retired cultists who have no regard for human life and expect them to act civilized?

I will say drain the swamp and completely reform the Police, but then again the enemy is everyone of us... Talk to your father, mother, brother, sister, cousin, nephew, niece in the Police Force to change. After all charity begins at home and everyone of us has someone he/she knows in the Force.

HeavenlyBang how far? Picked up the w211 on my bro's behalf yesterday and remembered the video you posted a while ago bout the E55 AMG. Saw this W211 E500 and can't wrap my head around how MB supercharged this M113 (engine always looks lazy grin) to produce those figures 18 years ago, almost 500hp in the SL55, and 469, in the E55 - although I've seen videos of some that were further modded above 500hp.

Hello, I would like to seek the suggestions of Nairalanders.

I have the sum of 350,000 lying dormant and as a student I don't intend on starting any business for now.

Is there a way to invest my money and receive reasonable returns yearly?

PS: Ponzi schemes and Get rich quick, please stay of the thread.

First and foremost - zero your mind. Don't call that joker that wants to 'talk to you'.

Secondly, read everything on this website like your $970 depends on it (actually it does ) - stanbicibtcfundsmanagement.com

Thirdly, you may wish to wake up earlier than the devil tomorrow morning, and head to the nearest Stanbic IBTC Bank.

Finally, sit down and receive your annual ROI

Jesus Christ - what's up with all these hypothetical scenarios on fp today?

Why would I leave a job that pays $110-120k annually to start from scratch for a N*gga that earns $37-40k annually from a bank, that could sack him at a moment's notice given the current economic situation on ground?

Anyways, this is a purely hypothetical situation because in real life no one I know, will seek for advise or even validation from strangers before asking the lazy n*gga to transform to an essential good and hop on the closest Dangote truck heading west.

It's nice to have all that power available for when you need it--which is why I don't think I'll ever buy a sub-300 HP car--but you get to a point and realize there's just as much satisfaction in going slowly in comfort, as there is to speeding and living on the edge.
