Exactly

einsteino:
in addition, he and KA contacting the VO with the same email and contents is highly suspicious, moreso their letters were also identical even when they claim to work in different branch. He didnt do enough to prove beyond all reasonable doubt that there wasnt some game going on.

I think people should thread with caution and endeavor to put their HR(or whoever is the contact point) in the know if they decide to get a letter from a supervisor to fulfill CIC's reference letter format. if possible sef, take the letter to your HR to confirm that your designation and roles on your reference letter doesnt conflict with what they think is appropriate. Just to save oneself from the long story of having to explain to a V.O what is obtainable in your peculiar work environment.

Hi @Newmum0615,

Let me help you understand the issue here.

The VO did not mistake the staff’s grade with job role. It was stated multiple times that the issue here was clear misrepresentation of the job role.

The guy claimed to have been a ‘Credit Supervisor’ while he was not. GTB has credit courses for ‘marketing’ staff… so the certificate on credit issues could easily be available.

The issue is clear. He a procedural fairness letter dated Mar 15, 2016 with 30 days to respond. All he needed to do was go back to HR and ask for a letter in whatever format they will give, confirming his department. If he were truly in credit, he will have gone to HR directly. Problem solved.

See point number 10.
“[10] Mr. Akinbile responded to the procedural fairness letter, explaining that his October 9, 2014 employment letter had not been signed in accordance with the Bank’s procedure, as the Human Resources department of the Bank would not provide employment letters for Bank staff in the form required by CIC”

Newmum0615:
That is my problem with the story. The VO was mistaking grade level with job title. I don't think the guy did enough to discourage this line of though sha IMO. As you said, you may work in a bank as an executive trainee or banking officer and have a specific job role. This has taught me something though. I will go the extra mile and include explanation in my LOE concerning my grade level and specific jobs. But those VOs should be used to terminologies like our Naija grades in banks naa. On the other hand, I think it is safer to get ref letter from your HR rather than from your supervisor, cos they might send a mail to ones HR office and then the person may be unlucky that they speak with the "wrong person" that day. My opinion sha.

Hi ugoiyke79e.

No, no name change, no new passport. Everything is still as it's been.

So, no need for the forms.

Got ya. Thanks.

ugoiyke79e:
Hi eddycross,
Did u change name/passport in the course of your application?
I filled the additional family information form 5406 ...
It was requested as an ADR pre-PPR. I attributed the request to the name change I did midway in my application.
my passport validity entered the 6mnths period while my application was in progress so I decided to change my surname to my marital name.
I got ADR for an updated passport and after submitting it, I got another ADR for additional family information(form IMM5406)...I got ppr one week after submitting d later.
So if u did change name/passport for u or any dependent, u may consider downloading d form and filling it.
Cheers.

This is what we did. Thanks

Wrote boldly that our family composition HAS NOT CHANGED.

DBA4show:
Congratulations EddyCross.

Are you adding any other person to your application, or did your family configuration change?

if not, just complete the form IMM008 and include a letter that your family composition remains the same.

Finally, do not forget to include a copy of your PPR letter.

All the best.............
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program-Connect Here Part 2 by eddycross(m): 2:35pm On Oct 12, 2017
Thanks 40manlappy

40manlappy:
It seems that the Additional Family Information forms is a new development because it was not stated in my RFV mail.

Has your family configuration changed? If not, you don't need to fill it. Even the form IMM008 is supposed to be for when you have changes in the family composition but most people fill it anyway.

I presume that you have already sent your passports to Accra. Cheers!
TravelRe: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant by eddycross(m): 2:35pm On Oct 12, 2017
Thank you, much clearer now

yimiton:
1. Passport - Compulsory

2. Yes please, fill the height, weight etc form. Very important.

3. Has your family composition changed? that is: a new baby, a spouse etc? If not, read the PPR, you'll see that you're meant to fill the IMM008 only if your family composition has changed. If not, you do not need to fill it.

4. I didn't see any Additional Family Information and didn't fill anything. The only form I filled is the one that was attached, that is your number 2 below (height, weight, eye colour).
TravelRe: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant by eddycross(m): 1:38pm On Oct 12, 2017
Thanks. From your response, you only need to complete the IMM008 form.

To clarify, my PPR request seemed to request for three documents:
1. Passports
2. Height, Weight, Eye colour form (this was attached to the PPR)
2. Form IMM008
3. Additional Family Information <-- this is the one I want to confirm if anybody filled it.

yimiton:
I don't understand your question but when I got my PPR mail, I didn't send an IMM008 form being that my family composition had not changed. However, I filled the form that was attached to the email and sent it with my passports.

If your family composition hasn't changed, there's no reason why you should fill the IMM008 again.

@All with COPR,

The PPR mail requests for completed form IMM008 and Additional Family Information forms.

I already completed and sent the form IMM008.

Do we need to also send the Additional Family Information forms?

I need to confirm before I initiate a CSE. Thanks

No worries, I had the ticket fines a few times too... it doesnt matter. I got my PCC smooth. That doesn't qualify as a conviction.

SegunWamiri:
Please does anyone have specific details of what could be considered as criminal records especially in the UK.

I'm beginning to have some fear of not passing this when I apply for a UK PCC because in the course of stay during my MSc. study, I was made to pay a fine for not paying the right ticket fee before boarding the train. Would this be a problem?

It wasn't deliberate though angry

I stand to be corrected but a few pages back or near the end of part , someone posted on an application which was rejected because the UK PCC was over 6 months. So I would advise the poster gets a new one, to avoid stories that touch. wink Just my 2 kobo...
elfmann:
It is in reality vaid for 12 months. So you're wrong.
I did.

You can see it here:
https://myimmitracker.com/ca/trackers/consolidated-e-apr-tracker-express-entry-permanent-residency-application/cases/case-17316

The exact comment from the poster was:
"...My application was deemed incomplete as my police check was 6 months and 3 days old when I submitted my application. The cut off is 6 months for police checks. The delay in submitting was caused by work references coming through late."

Please make sure your PCC (I mean the UK police clearance in this case) isn't up to 6 months when you finally apply. Someone was refused for this:

@cochtrane Asylum here means Refugee seeker:

Hello great people, pls I wish to know if it is better for one to go thru asylum system because processes of this federal skilled workers seem to be cumbersome and costly for an average earner like me. Sincere responses will be appreciated. Thanks

This is the first paragraph on the Refugees from outside Canada eligibility page:

"Determine your eligibility
To come to Canada as a refugee, you must be referred. The United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR), a designated referral organization, or a private sponsorship group can refer you. You cannot apply directly to us as a refugee."

Hi again everyone...while looking through the fees and co page on cic website, i found this section and it made me catch cold. Planning to immigrate with a family of three (wife and two kids). I thought principal applicant was $550 but considering i may be applying as a self employed person, does that mean i'll have to pay $1,050 rather than $550 for my application?

@eddycross and others, kindly wade in.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by eddycross(m): 6:53am On Jul 27, 2017
if the applicant is self-employed, articles of incorporation or other evidence of business ownership, evidence of self-employment income and documentation from third-party individuals indicating the service provided along with payment details (self-declared main duties or affidavits are not acceptable proof of self-employed work experience).

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/perm/express/intake-complete.asp
It's under the "Proof of work experience" section

To be fair, the CBN regulation did not say anything about return ticket.

https://www.cbn.gov.ng/out/2017/ccd/circular%20on%20new%20policy%20on%20pta%20school%20fees.pdf

Neither did GTBank...
https://twitter.com/gtbank/status/837317701068599296?lang=en

So I guess if they refuse PTA application at the branch, I'd be within my rights to escalate... somehow.

Ballerz:
Most Banks (99%) will not give based on one way ticket.
Return ticket is often cheaper than one way I the long run. You can always change the return leg and keep it open for a year. You never can know when you might need it to attend owanbe
Muchaio:
This is usually due to ignorance at the branch level. Get them to seek clarification from their Head Office. Nigerians with dual citizenship or legal residency of other countries are entitled to PTA on one way tickets as long as you are going to that country.

You need to show evidence of your current address, not your former UK address. Two documents having your name and address, one of which must have been obtained within the past 6 months.
