XX01: In your opinion, what does the bolded mean. eboziem: What you quoted above from the CIC website refers to Canadian Work Experience From the FAQs, CIC may not be limiting this requirement to Canadian Experience Class. See here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=393&top=29Excerpt below: Can I count part-time work toward the work experience requirement?
You can count part-time work toward the work experience requirement, as long as you were not a full-time student at the time.
However, you must have gained the equivalent amount of experience as someone who worked full-time for at least one year (1560 hours)

petemail2all: Please which ECA payment method is to be used I used standard, sent it to an address in the US and it was scanned to me. I did not want to waste time with posting to Nigeria, and also risk loosing the mail. Some people here have used international courier. Then you can have it sent to your address here in Nigeria. |

mokaz: @Boss13 and @vcole.....thanks for your kindness. I just had a chat with my Cash Officer at the branch I worked. He agreed to write a reference letter stating my job function while I was under him but not on a letterhead paper. He agreed to include his official email and telephone number for verification purpose if required. I hope this should be enough for applying along with the HR company's letter that I was seconded to Ecobank. This is fine. Don't forget to get a Business card from this person as well... You can scan this along with the letter. Hope you have a clear view of what the letter should contain though. All the best. |

Thank you. Unfortunately not. The ECA is one of the core requirements (along with IELTS) to create an EE profile. There will be a section for the ECA ref number. |

bigbroda: Guys, I have these questions 2 ask.
1. While filling my EE profile, under d education section, I filled HND and had to put d duration(start month and end month) which happened to b 2 years bring a 2-year program. Now under d last part of d section, I'm meant to choose what d qualification is i.e. 2 year certificate, 3 years certificate or equivalent to a degree, Masters, etc. Cos it's a 2-year program and d duration too was 2 years, I chose d 2-year certificate option. Meanwhile d WES evaluation calls it a 3 years program/ BSc.(something like dat). Do u think I have filled it correctly by choosing a 2-year program or I should go with d WES equivalent. There is actually another portion for d evaluation/Canada equivalence. I don't have issues with dat cos it's spelt out on d certificate so dat one is obviously 3-yr certificate. My concern is dat I'm choosing 2 year somewhere up and 3 years at another place down for d same program/certificate. Hope it's okay? Also chose 2 years for d OND too which I think it's okay being OND and not HND.
My 2nd question is about employment month. I was in d banking sector before joining d public service. I left d banking sector some years back in November and joined my present employer in december of d same year but my employment letter reads october and d government agency sees me as an October employee. Obviously the embassy letter they would give me will read October as employment month but i didn't resume until December as advised by my employer, I didn't even get d letter until November but was paid from October. Now how do I fill my work experience duration cos I can't claim to have left d bank in September when I actually left in November and i can't put december as my resumption date with d government agency when d letter they would give me to d embassy reads October been my official resumption month. What do u think guyz? behati: Based on what a friend that has gotten PR did, include your one year IT period as part of your HND, to make it 3years of study. I agree that you should include the one year It as part of the HND and make it 3 years. For question 2, you indicate it as it is: Bank Job - Apr 2010 - Nov 2012 Govt Job - Oct 2012 till date That's what I did. At some point I had multiple jobs with interlocking dates. I put them like that. |

curllygee: I have been following dis thread quietly. I need some explanations. I have seen that people claim 1 year NYSC experience as part of work experience. My NYSC experience is in NOC 4031 ( secondary school teacher). I studied accounting so I taught accounts during youth service. After that I have worked for only 6months as an accountant in a company(NOC 1111) before I resigned to face my full time masters programme which ended on Thursday with my thesis defence. I will be writing ielts next month, my question is, will my teaching experience pose a problem as against my profession as an accountant as i can only claim one year work experience in NOC 4031 though I have about 2 persons that can give me reference letter with dia company letter head. please I need advice. Boss13: I don't want to sound harsh, but my dear, you don't have the required experience to apply. You were teaching accounting as a Youth Corper and then an Accountant for 6 months. You need a minimum of 1 year under NOC 0, A or B 4031 is under category A. One year experience under that NOC is valid for Express Entry as long as it isn't stated at Youth Service, but Work Experience.

debbiejosh: My first travel was on a return ticket, because I knew I was coming back to Nigeria.
My second travel from Nigeria was on a one way ticket, nobody harassed me.
Moreover, it's an immigrant visa, they are not expecting you to come back.
My advice is book which ever is cheaper depending on your preference of airline, some airlines come cheap with one way ticket, while some don't Thanks @debbiejosh |

Adiahabasi: Yeah, I asked about the pension kind of letter, they said they can only address it to a pension body...such a difficult bunch! Sorry about that. It must be the person you spoke to that did not understand. I got an account a signature confirmation letter from them. If you go to your branch (or any branch), just ask. If they cannot help you, insist to speak to the Operations manager. Its a normal day-to-day thing. |

Hi,
To those who have recently gotten PR and travelled, did you travel on a one-way ticket? I keep hearing that you will not be allowed to travel (on some flights) using a one-way ticket.
Any other person in the house with info can help too.
Thanks

Even ur PR visa is only valid for 6- 7 months it will be cancelled at the point of entry, and you will be asked for an address they will send your PR Card to, your PR card will be the main visa. Hi Fusion, please how long did it take for you to receive the PR card after you have gotten to Canny using the COPR? 2 weeks? 3 weeks? 4? |

Welder: Good morning guys
You guys are doing a great work.
I just want to clarify if its necessary that one's spouse get his credentials evaluated. I can't seem to find it on CIC website. Perhaps, someone here can provide a link. If you can get the required scores without the spouse's ECA evaluation, please go ahead. This means that you cannot claim scores for spouse's education.

From CIC: You must meet the minimum level of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 7 in English or Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadiens (NCLC) 7 in French for your first official language in all four language abilities. That means, at least CLB 7 in Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. CLB 7 equals a score of "6" in IELTS. MummyJaygirls: Good day, this is my friend's IELTS scores and she doesn't want to rewrite. Please what do you advice?
Listening 5.5 Reading 6.0 Writing 7.0 Speaking 7.5
She is single, and has already applied for ECA |

jayfierce: If you've already started your application then take the questionnaire again with the same profile. Indicate that your wife will accompany you. Ensure you complete the questionnaire appropriately. All relevant documents to upload will be generated including IMM5713. Print, sign and scan this document. If you haven't started your application then use the link below: http://www.cic.gc.ca/ctc-vac/getting-started.asp Thanks Jayfierce, I tried this again - i started using the "getting started" link and also with the existing application. None of them gave me an opportunity to indicate that my wife will accompany me. |
