Curtisaxel7: Trump has done nothing wrong. There's nothing wrong with loving one's country and putting it's interests before that of other countries. I find it appalling that many intelligent people here have swallowed the "Trump is a white supremacist" propaganda. It's just a pity.
Seriously guys, we need to watch less of CNN and actually take the pains to actually investigate the facts about American politics and the Trump administration. Namaste.
....but that's by the way. Let's keep talking football There's nothing wrong with loving your country - but don't use immigrants as a scapegoat. There's nothing wrong with securing your borders, but don't demonize refugees and Latinos by calling them rapists, murderers, etc. I'm a centrist but Trump has been pushing this myth of Dems not wanting Border security because they think 25b for a wall is expensive. He can get what he wants without the crazy propaganda and sometimes downright lies he pushes when he's on his mumu rallies. White supremacists are getting emboldened by the guy. Whether he approves or not is besides the point. Yeah - back to football. |

Icon79: OK. I will agree with you on Oliseh, Okocha, and Cele. But I definitely won't take Taribo over Chidi Nwanu. Taribo was a solid defender but he didn't really perform that much for the Super Eagles. Same with Ikpeba, I will definitely take Rashidi Yekini of '94 over Victor Ikpeba of '98. Ikpeba was one player who performed much better in Europe (Monaco) than he did for the Super Eagles.
O pari I'm talking of Ikepba in addition to Yekini (regressed version admittedly) and Amokachi. Don't know too much about Nwanu but I'm sure Taribo is rated higher. We're talking of Taribo at inter. Let's not forget Tijani as well. |

Icon79: Please do me a favor, do a player to player comparison of the two first teams. Keep these FACTS in mind:
The Uche Okechukwu of 1994 was better than the Okechukwu of 1998. The Peter Rufia of 1994 was better than the Rufia of '98. And the following key players in '98 were carrying varying injuries: Emmanuel Amuneke Daniel Amokachie Kanu Nwankwo
That's almost half your first team right there!
O pari We also had a better Sunday Oliseh. A better Jay Jay Okocha An upgrade in CB with Taribo West An Upgrade at LB with Cele Adepoju was still good Finidi was still good Oruma was a better bench option in MD Not forgetting Ikepba as well. |

Go to facebook people are no longer hiding their racist tendencies, I was on facebook and a racist topic came up and I was surprised at the number of people that supported racist ideologies
I fear for Black Americans if Trump wins 2020 "Non racist" Trump supporters are all blinded to this and keep pointing to "fake news". Whether Trump is racist or not is besides the point - the fact that these guys are getting bold and people are not taking them serious because they want to "own the libs snowflakes" will be their undoing. |

komekn: Villarreal will not beat Fulham.
And certainly Derby County, Middlesbrough and Swansea will finish them off.
A team that struggled against Glasgow Rangers.
You are dreaming wake up.
Seria B is on the level of English League one. Villarreal will most definitely beat Fulham. Fulham is one of the softest epl teams I've ever seen. Their defense is shit. Villarreal is in a false position. They have Fornals, Santi, Iborra, Soriano, Trigueros, Ekambi, etc all good players who will be picked off if they get relegated. |

Icon79: 100% agree with that, exactly
I usually agree with tbaba but I gotta differ with him on this one. Apples to apples, the 1994 team is better than the 1998 team. Don't get me wrong, the 1998 team was loaded with talent but they were missing some critical pieces, like in the goalkeeping department, and some important players were carrying injuries as well (Amuneke, Kanu, etc). The 1994 team was the most balanced Super Eagles team in recent memory. Unfortunately, inexperience cost them against Italy.
O pari Like tbaba said - the defence of 94 is a bit overrated. Team of 94 lacked depth and the pool of talent to pick from wasn't as big as 98. I think team of 98 had more creativity as well. |

tbaba1234: Iroha was never an attacking left back biko. That ivory coast goal was once in a blue moon venture forward. Iroha was a hard tackling defender.
The Italy we faced just finished from a disastrous group outing where they finished third. Beating us gave them the boost to reach the final.
The 1998 team was better than 1994 in terms of quality. 100 percent agree. |

Earthquake2: A coach that has Suarez and Cavani will automatically play a 4-4-2
That is what forcing a coach's hand mean If they also have a Messi/Eriksen/Ozil etc, they'd either play Cavani outwide or just bench him. When Ibra and Cavani were both at PSG, what happened?? Cavani was forced outwide and Ibra as a 10. |

Earthquake2: Leicester has two strikers and a coach that can play 4-4-2 (He actually played it for almost a whole season)
If he does not play it, it is because the striker on the bench has not done enough to force his hand Or maybe he has creative players like Maddison, Tielemans and wide players like Barnes. |

Earthquake2: Mtweew
What kind of question is that What do you mean what kind of question is that? Rodgers does not play with the 4-4-2 on a consistent basis. It's like me saying because Pep has played with a 4-5-1, that is go to formation. Leicester are no longer the 4-4-2 team they were when they won the title. Rodgers has come in and said he sees Nacho as a 9. He is being benched by Vardy. It is not an issue. Simple as that. |

Earthquake2: Goodjoe is just twisting facts to justify a narrative
Why is it that Iheanacho has gotten only 7 minutes in a frontline of Vardy and 2 kids
If Iheanacho has been impressive in training he would have been chalking up 15 to 20 at least every match No he is making sense. Nacho's competing for a place with Vardy. We've all agreed he is an out and out striker and not a creative hub. There's no shame in him getting benched by Vardy. Rodgers doesn't play with a 4-4-2 and doesn't see Nacho as anything less than a 9. Simple. Are you expecting Nacho to play outwide?? |

tactius: The problem is, playing for France now, and even in 2012 was tough. Too many good players. True but saying he was a nobody before playing for Gabon is pushing it. He was performing well for Saint Etienne when he got invited. Let's not forget he had already played for Lille, Monaco and AC Milan's youth side |
Sports › Re: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang Set To Retire by edi287: 4:45pm On Apr 01, 2019 |
timay: He was actually a nobody before he played for gabon. He came into lime light at the 2012 Afcon that gabon co-hosted with equitorial guinea, in which Gabon was the revelation of the tournament. They topped their group consisting of Tunisia Morroco and Niger, beating all of them to gather a maximum 9 points in their group. Aubameyang was the revelation of the tournament for gabon and was a joint highest goal scorer at the tournament.
He was signed by Dortmund after the Afcon. And the rest is history.
So playing for Gabon , actually boosted his career. So the national team made him. No he was signed by Dortmund after scoring 19 goals for Saint Etienne as a wide player. He played for the French U21 and was once invited to the Italian U19 team. |

komekn: Actually that's very MISLEADING too.
Go and check that Juventus team of that period where Henry played as a winger, in the highly disciplined side. He played 16 games and scored 3 goals. That's not a flop and I haven't counted assists.
Considering what he was doing for Monaco it was dissapointing for him. Not forgetting he was played as a wingback in some of those games and was the one who asked to leave himself. Juve didn't want to sell him. |

Joebie: Nwakali na youth player. I’m not sold until I see him perform at a high stage.
If there is a third #9 spot vacant in SE, it would be a tough battle for the final slot. I would rather go with Osimhen. Ighalo, Osimhen and Onuachu. All different kind of strikers. They bring something different to the table I think that's our 3 forwards for now. Good thing is they can play with each other depending on the formation we adopt. |

komekn: Good players adapt and thrive.
If you are on the wing and you have aerial dominance with a 6'5" ➕ striker and you don't cross the ball, sorry that's unforgivable. I'm saying that isn't necessarily his job. You can always balance that by having a natural winger on the other side or leave the crossings to your fullbacks. Onyekuru can drift inside and create space for our fullbacks to cross. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by edi287: 9:13pm On Mar 30, 2019 |
komekn: It may be premature but l noticed that when thier was the opportunity Onyekuru did not cross the ball considering the aerial advantage we had over Egypt.
Even Moses seemed not know how to cross.
How can you be Winger and can not cross the ball. In addition l noticed the same with our wing backs Shehu and Collins.
These are the primary essential attributes of both these positions amongst other attributes.
This seems to be a problem with the SE. Onyekuru is more of a wide forward than a winger. Just play someone like Samu on the other flank. |

KDB is only there to give Suarez some rest. Nobody expected him to give him a run for his position. Why would Ighalo enter that kind of one chance? Because he could get a better move if he performed well or even decently. They'd always be Chinese clubs interested in him. He could even get an epl move if he played decently enough. Oh and do you think KPB has done well since he arrived?? |
