Emenike played a lot with his strength and was able to cover up with it. As for Ameobi, the game against Italy is a good enough answer.
Honestly I don't think Emenike was that good as a lone striker. He was better playing alongside a target man or coming from wide positions like he did back at Fenerbache.

Are you joking? Who will give him the opportunity to prove himself. How much opportunity has KPB had to prove himself. Would he get selected if he was sitting on the bench in Barca?
KDB isn't getting selected because he played shit when he did.
Ighalo would've played a few times if he came.

Yea true so maybe he should have been involved in a couple of friendlies like Lokosa was last year. Not drafted straight into competing against Ramos and Pique grin
The Confed Cup is meant to be a dress rehearsal for the world cup. With Emenike out, I didn't too mind him inviting Gambo. Besides, Gambo only played a few minutes.
Ujah and Ideye played more minutes than he did. Based on how he sets his team out, the only player I can think of he'd have invited over Gambo as at that time was Eneramo.

This Obagoal own was one I found funny. Keshi liked big strikers because he liked them drifting wide to become target men for the long balls. Then they hold up play and the other forwards and creative players join them there.

That was why he did not want Martins, Uche and to a less extent, Osaze striking. However, the whole media was that he must play them when they did not fit into his tactical plans or ready to bend to fit in.
Then why did he play Emenike as a CF in the WC? For me he messed up in inviting Ameobi over Brown Ideye. He said Ideye wasn't scoring yet he replaced him with Ameobi who was even poorer.

Fact. No this is nairaland so gbam!

I have mentioned it here countless times about local coaches and strange player selections. After the ridiculous world cup and confederations cup selections (remember Gambo grin) Keshi gave Gabriel Okechukwu number 10 shirt in one of our AFCON qualifiers. Also remember Salami our every present top striker? Haha

What about siasia starting Umar and Amuzie against Egypt in Kaduna. Foreign coaches don't work like that.
To be fair to Keshi - Gambo was probably the most inform(or one of )in the NPFL as of that time.

However, if not for Oliseh’s attitude, he would still be the SE coach till now. And that’s if Pinnick does not bulge to pressures from Nigerians.
Nah all Oliseh wanted was for NFF to act professionally.
I'd be pissed off too if as a coach, I'm still witnessing the same issues I did as a player.
Some people just can't thrive in our chaotic system. I can't blame them...

Wetin do Mikel and Rohr na? Is Musa the captain now
I thought he excused Mikel from these games as he just joined Boro. Then again, it wouldn't surprise me if he's trying to ease him out. Mikel won't be around forever - so we might as well start planning for life without him.

If the NFF is to provide a tactician to support Rohr ( which will be highly commendable ) he is likely going to be a white man.
Don't mind. Bonfere Jo was white and did a great job as Westerhof's assistant.

Man management ALONE can keep u going, but can’t win u trophies? Rohr is an ok coach. You cannot be a great coach if u are only good in man management. Tactically, he is average at best.
What Rohr needs is a very good assistant. I wish we had drafted Amunike to his coaching staff. Get a great assistant and leave the tactical side of the game to them.
That's how Fergie always moved with the times till he decided to retire. Carlos Quieroz was responsible for the tactical side i.e training and all while Fergie handled the management side.
Get Rohr a good assistant and I wouldn't mind him staying till 2022 and beyond sef

That initially Chukwueze and Okechukwu were on his initial list but had to be drafted to help the U23 as Imama wanted their services more
This is great news! That means Rohr is indeed looking for new options in Midfield.

He went to the Asian games at the beginning of the season that was the most substantial time he missed.

1 8/11/18 A Tottenham Hotspur (3.) Newcastle United Newcastle (13.) 1:2 LW 10'
2 8/18/18 H Tottenham Hotspur (8.) Fulham FC Fulham (18.) 3:1 international match
3 8/27/18 A Tottenham Hotspur (5.) Manchester United Man Utd (9.) 0:3 international match
4 9/2/18 A Tottenham Hotspur (2.) Watford FC Watford (4.) 2:1 international match
You're deflecting. I was obviously talking about the Asian cup in January. It was around that period Kane got injured.
Son was one of the most inform players in the league before he left.
He missed the first two group games for Korea because Spuds kept him back. Simple.

Son Heung-min at the Asian Cup: How many games will Tottenham star miss? How long could Mauricio Pochettino be without his star forward?

Spurs will be without Son Heung-min for a significant portion of the new year (Getty Images)

Finlay Greig8:32 Wednesday January 9th 2019

The i newsletter

The news you need, condensed.

Son Heung-min is the Premier League’s in-form player, rattling in six goals and laying on a further three assists in just his last five matches.

But come January Son is set to miss a series of league fixtures as he prepares to take part in the Asian Cup with South Korea.

The call-up could have huge ramifications for Tottenham, the title race and Fantasy Premier League.

Nearly 650,000 FPL managers currently have the forward in their teams, but will need to transfer him out ahead of Tottenham’s Gameweek 23 fixture against Fulham.

How many games will Son Heung-min miss?

The good news for Spurs fans is that the club have negotiated with South Korea and Son will not take part in the first two group fixtures against Kyrgyzstan and the Philippines.

This means that Son will be available for Tottenham’s clash with Manchester Unitedin Gameweek 22.

The bad news, however, is that South Korea are among the tournament favourites and stand a good chance of going the distance.

Should South Korea reach the Asian Cup final, Son Heung-min would miss the following games: Fulham (January 20), Watford (January 30) and Newcastle (February 2), as well as the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final tie with Chelsea.

Son will also be out of contention for Tottenham’s FA Cup fourth round match at the end of January.

I need to single out Onyekuru for his brilliance on the ball today. He was the player who stood out for me when it comes to gift on the ball.

He was way ahead of the other players in quality.
About time he grabbed his opportunity with both hands. Onyekuru offers us tricky and goals when he's in form.

Zaha will start for those teams

Which Spurs winger is better than him or Man U ?

Zaha is better thqn the wingers at those club

You think as a coach I will play lingard ahead of zaha ?

because say na black man you think he won't make it there

Is son the only winger at spurs?
Zaha and Son play at the same wing and I repeat - Son is better than Zaha and has shown that over the last two seasons.
Is Martial white? Is Rashford white? When Leicester won the league - who was creating for Mahrez? Zaha has poor end product and that won't change at any club.
Why do you think City chose to sign Mahrez for 65m over him for 70m despite being homegrown? No club will blow over 70m on Zaha.
He is a very good player but not elite. Make we die this topic before people vex for us.
I need to find a link for the replay of today's game. I missed it
