If the business is unregistered, then it doesn't pay tax, meaning it is not a real business in the eyes of visa officials. It is better to register the company as a limited liability company (LTD) asap.

People with unregistered businesses have gotten PPR. Just provide references letter, add bank statements to show payments or cheque payments. If it was paid in cash the VO may ask for more documents.
